The experience of St John Trust, Foxby Court, is excellent. Staff are so caring and helpful. Residents all look very clean and happy. It's a joy to visit my dear friend. The manager, Sarah, has been fantastic, keeping us up to date with my friend's care plans. All the staff are smart in their uniforms, and the cleaners do a great job. The food is excellent. I can honestly say it's the best care home I have ever seen, as I have worked in some over the years. 100% out of 100%.

Mum moved into Foxby Court for respite care in Mid-November following a fall at home and breaking her wrist. Mum is a strong willed independant lady of 89 and still very sharp - she loved it so much at Foxby Court she decided to want to stay on a permanent basis. The home is spotlessly clean, the staff from carers to cleaners to management are excellent, caring, professional, helpful and supportive, the food is excellent, the faciltiies excellent. For Mum wanting to stay speaks volumes of the home and the staff that make it what it is - excellent. Thank you.

We used Foxby Court for respite in July for 2 weeks and we were very apprehensive but everyone was so welcoming and friendly. So when we needed some more respite Foxby Court was our first choice. This time around mum seemed so much more settled and at home( not that she wasn't in July) Every carer remembered her. The care staff are amazing and nothing is to much trouble for them. She was a bit reluctant to get involved with the many activities but with a little bit of encouragement she soon got involved. The television room just of the dining hall was her go to place and you would often find her in there with a group of ladies watching tv and chatting. The staff would also inform us of everything she had been doing and her health. The staff treated my mum with respect and compassion at all times and make it feel like home. I can not rate the home or staff highly enough and would not hesitate to use this home again.

Thank you all so much for everything you have done for my mum and us.

My mother in law has now been in Foxby Court for seven months. The care and compassion is second to none. The food is obviously enjoyable as she has put weight on.

All the staff are welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I think this care home is exactly the right place for her, and she has settled in wonderfully.

My father was placed at Foxby Court as an emergency placement. He has always been reluctant to entertain the idea of entering a care home. He has Parkinsons disease and is a proud gentleman. After two weeks here he was asked about his future. He asked to stay. His words were 'the treat me well here'. I agree, the staff are wonderful, engaging and caring. The food served looks delicious and the environment is clean and fresh with activities ongoing.

Clean, friendly, approachable staff. Residents always look happy, always look clean and well looked after and supported. Rooms are always clean and tidy. Main areas of the building also well maintained. Lots of decorating happening and new flooring which is nice to see. I feel very happy and confident in leaving my parent in the care of Foxby Court.

I have found the carers try to make the resident feel safe. I can see how difficult it is for the cares and Foxby have some special people working there. I have had good support from the home wherever mum has been unwell. Only this month I mentioned mum was not herself and didn't want to drink. I had tried to coax her for an hour with her afternoon cup of tea. The carer said she would sit with her at teatime and encourage her. The management staff are always approachable and the phone is always picked up when I have needed to ring.

I find the care home to be clean and tidy. The residents always look very clean, and the food is very good. My only criticism is that when a resident needs the toilet, sometimes they can be waiting a while for someone to come and assist them.

Overall Experience

I was a regular visitor to Foxby Court and was always made extremely welcome by all members of staff. My friend was well looked after, her nails neatly trimmed and her hair clean and styled nicely. Although my friend suffered from dementia and her mood was variable, the staff always treated her with kindness and respect. My friend's room was very pleasant, with ensuite toilet facilities, always cleaned to a good standard. During my visits, I also used to chat with many of the other residents, all who seemed settled and happy. Although I didn't see any of the meals, as I would settle my friend in the dining room ready and then leave, the menus always sounded appetising, with a choice of main and dessert. On a couple of occasions, I coincided with a lady doing a music session, which the residents seemed to particularly enjoy and on another, they were just finishing a quiz. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend Foxby Court and thank the staff for their hard work and kindness.

Since my mother has been admitted to Foxby Court the pressure on the family has been eased considerably and we are satisfied her needs have been met. We are grateful as a family that the care she has received has been outstanding and this has been a weight lifted off our shoulders. Her medication needs have been met which has been a great concern and we feel she is treated with dignity and respect. We cannot expect anymore from Foxby Court.

I cannot thank the staff at Foxby Court Care Home enough. The care they have shown my father is exemplary. His final years have been a joy because of them. He became a different person after a difficult few years after my mother died.
All of the staff are excellent. They knew him and treated him with respect even when it was difficult.

Thank you from all of my family.
