My 96 year old sister has been placed in this care home after a fall. She does have some memory issues and can on occasions be verbally aggressive and insulting. I have visited her on numerous occasions since she has been in the Home.
My first impressions were of an extremely clean and tidy care home with no smells associated with some I have visited.
The staff have all without exception been very helpful and understanding and observing them going about their duties show a commitment to the residents. That can only be driven by the requirements and checking by senior hands on staff.
Yesterday 3rd March was my sisters birthday and will be one she and I will remember. The staff had produced a birthday cake and presents. In the lounge the other residents gathered and a singer arrived for a singalong. Everyone enjoyed themselves and of course the singing and those able dancing gave exercise.

I have visited friends in various nursing homes and this one is without a doubt the finest.

Overall I have found the Carers and Management including service personal at The Gardens Care home very kind, caring, helpful and efficient in what they do. It was the Local Council, some 18 months ago, who placed Mum in this Care Home for her own safety whilst I was away which at first was hard for me to accept but having visited the Care many times I am 100% satisfied that she is in the right place. I feel she is safe in a warm friendly environment and I know she is happy, and content, which means so very much to me and my family.

We have been very happy with the care my Nana has received at The Gardens. Any queries are quickly answered. And things have gone smoothly with her settling in. She always says the carers are lovely and kind.

We was recommended this home and would happily recommend it to others.

Mum has been in the care of the staff of the Gardens for 2 1/2 years. Every member of staff, from management to house keeping show so much care and dedication to providing the support she needs. I cannot express my thanks to them enough. What was the most difficult decision we ever had to make was the right one for mum.

My mother has been a resident for 2 1/2 years, I live abroad and visit 3 times a year. I see every time a change in her dementia, which is continually assessed and dealt with appropriately by staff. She is always clean and well looked after, she is happy and the staff have a good relationship with her and know her needs. She responds to the staff well and enjoys various activities that are provided. Her physical health needs are dealt with promptly and appropriately and we are kept updated at the time. I am very happy with all aspects of the home and staff and thank them for their care.

Dad has been at The Gardens for 3 years now, and as a family, we couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving.
The staff are professional, caring, warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and they have become his extended family.

Over the 3 years dad's condition has gradually deteriorated but each new challenge has been accepted and handled with care and compassion by the great team at The Gardens.

My mum-in-law has had a recent hosputal admission which was traumatic for all concerned. On return to the home the welcome we received was fantastic, she was quickly settled in and her needs dealt with. Her room was warm, clean and ready for her return and we were able to leave her knowing she was 'home', safe and loved. Hats off to your excellent staff.

Mother could not cope alone when my father died. She lost confidence socially, domestically and financially. Her will to live disappeared. I could not deliver the support she needed so we agreed to try The Gardens Care Home. She has been there for two years. They literally saved her life. She is treated as a valued member of the community, respected and independent. The team are her friends, they motivate her, keep her mind active and restored her dignity. She would not be here without them.

Most importantly to us, Mum is always clean, dressed and well-presented whatever day or time we turn up - a sure sign she is always well cared for.

The Gardens have been exemplary this month. Always a good and caring home but have gone the extra mile and far beyond in helping celebrate my mum's 101st birthday! Staff took Mum to Skegness for a day out, along the seafront, round the shops and for a fish'n'chips lunch - even buying Mum a 'kiss me quick' hat! She had a really brilliant birthday - something she has relieved time and time again with her visitors and these staff. Top marks all round!

I came to stay here at The Gardens Care Home after spending many weeks in hospital. I really wanted to live at The Gardens permanently as I felt so looked after and cared for, I feel that I'm no longer lonely. I feel that all the staff here at The Gardens have become my friends, not just here to care for me, we talk and have a laugh. I'm so happy here at The Gardens, I like most of the food served and there is plenty of choice to choose from.

Mother arrived at the home in November, very apprehensive. She believed she would not be stopping but as soon as she settled in, everybody made her very welcome, all staff and management are excellent, the care of my mother is excellent, cannot do enough to help her. I feel very lucky my mother is getting the care she deserves. A very big thank you to all staff at The Gardens Care Home, Mother is now a permanent resident.

Thank you.

My sister moved here in June 2023 as she was unable to live on her own with dementia and anorexia. She is starting to put on weight as being encouraged to eat regular meals. All the staff have been very kind to her making sure she always looks clean and tidy and encouraging her to join all the activities. We have noticed a big difference in her. This is the best place for her to live.
