Thank you to the manager and all the staff for making my mothers 101st birthday so special. Aware of her love of music, it was provided. My mother said at my next visit "I held on tight to my walker and danced - it made me feel young again!". The manager's professional, caring attitude is reflected
in the staff's day to day care. Phone calls are answered in a friendly, efficient way, and when visiting, the warmth of the relationship between my mother and the carers is clearly evident. The combination of kindness with efficient care gives the family peace of mind.

Clean, good hygiene, welcomed and settled Mum in with care and concern. All staff are kind and courteous - very approachable. Excellent rate of cleanliness and the food is excellent. Made mum feel at home in a short space of time, I would have no hesitation recommending The Gardens, in fact, I already
have. I feel that knowing my mum is in such capable hands has taken a weight off of the family's shoulders.

Very caring staff. They looked after my mum’s well being and mental health, as well as the family’s mental health. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was only there a short time after a stay in the hospital until care in the home could be sorted out. If Mum in the future needs full-time care, The Gardens
would be my first choice.
Modern accommodation and beautiful gardens for the residents to use. Excellent all round.

I came into this care home some time ago when I came out of hospital. Now I am on my own and a bit older, I telephoned requesting a room to come to stay. I am happy with all the care and the girls are like family.

The Gardens Care Home is excellent. We have seen a big difference in our friend since she went into the home in August 2019. Our friend is clean, bubbly, also gained weight as she was very underweight. Well done to the management and staff for their remarkable work.

My mother is totally bed-ridden and I have been very impressed with the interaction all members of staff have with her whenever possible and the dignity with which she is treated. I am also kept informed should there be any health concerns or problems and actions discussed with me. The general atmosphere
in the Home is calm and efficient and it is evident that pride is taken at every level in the duties undertaken by the staff.
Due to my mothers disability and food having to be pureed, I can only comment on some of the areas below on my general observations.

What a fantastic care home. All the staff are brilliant with everyone. Always happy and nothing is too much trouble. I have been to care homes before and this one really has impressed me. I live in New Zealand so I don't get to see my father too often but I feel reassured he is getting the best care available. Whenever I have visited the staff have always been absolutely lovely and dad seems very content and happy in the home. He is very frail now and not very mobile but the staff ensure
that he is kept in very good condition making sure he does not develop complications from immobility. The manager runs a tight ship not much gets past her and I feel confident in her judgement of what is best for my father. The management and staff offer the highest standard of care and I am happy to give them every accolade.

My mother is a resident and has been treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. The family feel very happy to know that she is cared for 24 hours per day. All staff are friendly to me and all visitors made very welcome.

The Gardens Care Home is a very friendly and nice place to stay. The staff are very kind and helpful. The food is very good and you have a wide selection, the rooms are very clean and warm. Lots of different activities, singers, magicians, bingo and church services etc.

Any decision to place a member of one's family into care is daunting, full of conflict, stress and guilt. This was eased with such a professional approach by all staff of the home, from inviting the family previsit/inspection to becoming a resident (father) and being treated with genuine care, dignity,
patience and respect. Most importantly my father is settled into his new home and is contented.

I am in the home due to personal circumstances. My daughter was looking after me as I have ovarian cancer but she was poorly herself so I had to come in The Gardens for a period of time. Very caring staff and excellent manager runs the home.

My mum has been a resident for three months. During this time, I have noticed a great improvement in her. Mum had struggled to live on her own and had suffered ill health. The care she has been given has brought a 'spring' back to her step.
The staff are kind and compassionate to both residents and
their family. Living away I feel assured Mum is safe, warm and happy.

Job Title: Home Manager

“Kind care to me means being respectful to others at all times, treating each and every Resident as an individual and giving them choices in each aspect of their life.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Victoria has gained a wealth of experience in providing care to elderly people to help enrich their lives, leading to her progression as Home Manager. She has enjoyed a successful career in the care industry so far, gaining an NVQ Level 4 in healthcare, as well as a Registered Manager’s Award.


Victoria closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoyed most about her role, Victoria remarked: “My favourite part of working at HC-One is spending time with such a kind, caring team to ensure that Residents are cared for to the best of our ability.”


Victoria credits her biggest achievement to celebrating a fantastic 35 years of marriage.


Outside of work, Victoria enjoys gardening, playing card games and spending time with her pet cats.
