My husband had Alzheimer's for 5 1/2 years when he entered Roxholm Hall. His behaviour was challenging at first but with love and care shown to him he slowly settled down. Although he had only been at the home for just over two months before he died, the nursing care shown to him was exemplary. The
carers were there watching over him 24 hours a day. Their concern for my husband's needs and dignity was evident for all to see. I was so grateful that they cared for him to the end. My thanks to the manager and staff.

My father spent his last few weeks here, and at each visit, I was very impressed with the care he received. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff was high throughout, treating my father with dignity and respect at all times.
They were also very helpful and kind to us too, supporting us
at our difficult time.
So I would say, don’t be put off by any previous negative reviews! Go and see this home for yourself, meet the Manageress, some of the staff, and then decide. We will be forever grateful for all of their help and support to us all.

My mother spent the last 13 months here and, despite being troublesome on occasions due to her dementia, she was treated with care, respect and dignity. During her last few days, they ensured that she was comfortable, pain-free and they supported the family too. Dedicated, caring staff. We are very
grateful.

Both my parents went into Roxholm at the end of January 2018. We were warned before we went to look at the place that it was not very good. When we viewed it, before my parents went in, the manager told us that she was new and that she was in the process of making lots of changes - some of the staff
have moved on and been replaced, there is a lot of work being done to smarten the building and grounds up, and there is a programme of training for the carers. We were, and still are, very impressed with the place. What a difference good management and leadership can make.

I just wanted to record my gratitude for the level of care afforded to my 92-year mother during her stay in Roxholm. She was treated at all times with dignity, compassion and a gentle humour which she loved. The staff are exceptional in their care and have become in her words her friends. The food
is mouthwatering and there were times my husband and I wished we could book a table. The atmosphere of welcome begins as the door opens and continues for the full length of the stay. For my mother, to have to leave our home and be among strangers was something we dreaded, but our fears were quickly allayed for what she met on arrivals were friends who were there to help. Thank you for all you have done for her.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.870)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.870) out of 10 for Roxholm Hall Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.729 for Roxholm Hall Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (43 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.729
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.141 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Roxholm Hall Care Centre is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.8 = 0.641
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
