A visit to Wizard of Oz pantomime in Peterborough. A ride on the bus and lunch at the Cresset. Dad was reluctant to go, however really enjoyed the show then his meal. Dad was shown so much attention and encouragement by the staff at the home. He was made to feel safe and comfortable. Dad still talks about his trip to the show!

On a number of occasions I have been visiting and mums teas has just been put down close by her. She is struggling to use cutlery because of arthritic hands but says no to help if offered to cut up food. She has also asked if she can have cheese and biscuits for tea, but this seems to difficult. Yesterday it was sausage roll and baked beans which she hates! she say she doesn't like to complain because the staff then get grumpy with her. She was also concerned that she cannot have a small amount of money in her room.

Thank you for your review and we appreciate your comments. I am sorry that your Mum has had some problems with meals and would like to reassure you that I have taken steps to address this with the chef so that the kitchen team is fully aware of the foods she most likes and dislikes. Very good review in pleasant, relaxed location lasting 3/4 hour with senior carer, my mother and myself. All aspects discussed from Whitefriars management and care, activities, exercise classes, church services and outings. Care and personal care discussed and more frequent baths requested and requests for wheelchair (nearly year ago) with doctor to be addressed. Otherwise very good as indicated.

Last time I reviewed Whitefriars I had a few issues, as as result of these and after speaking to the manager and an admiral nurse a lot of the problems have been resolved or are being addressed. Care for my mother has much improved after talking with the senior and admiral nurse, we have agreed on a care regime. The security issues are being sorted out with the door and I have been assured that there will be extra cleaning and extra staff during the evening. The atmosphere in Primrose area is much more pleasant and there has been more continuity in staffing. I look forward to seeing a continuing improvement under the new manager.

Owing to managerial and staffing problems not the good level of care we experienced when previously in Whitefriars for respite hopefully this will improve.

Reply from Caroline Alford, Area Operations Manager at Whitefriars

Thank you for your review, which is appreciated. I hope you will be reassured to know that, after a transitional period, we have a new full-time Home Manager taking up her position on 24 August. Louise Green
Louise GreenJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2017
I began my journey with OSJCT in June 2017 as a Senior Carer at Whitefriars Care Home in Stamford. Over the years, I progressed through various roles, including Care Lead, Dementia Lead, and Deputy Manager. In June 2025, I was honoured to be appointed as the Home Manager at Whitefriars, marking a significant milestone in my career.
I have a deep passion for care, particularly for people living with dementia, as this is something very personal to me. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives is what drives me every day.
I have remained with the Trust because of the incredible opportunities for growth and the alignment of the organisation’s values with my own passion for care. The supportive environment and the Trust's mission to provide high-quality care truly resonate with me, making it a place where I can continue to thrive and make a difference.

I love the direct impact I can have on the residents' lives, as well as the sense of fulfilment that comes from the connections I build with them. The team I work with is also a huge part of what I enjoy about the job, as we work closely together to provide the best care possible. Additionally, the constant opportunity to learn and grow in my role keeps me motivated and engaged. It’s incredibly rewarding to make a positive difference in the lives of those we care for.
