There is a varied programme of activities, entertainment and events, arranged by Activities coordinators around each person's requests, hobbies and interests.

The kitchen team, headed by a professional cook, is proud to offer a varied menu of home-cooked meals to suit individual dietary requirements and preferences.

With a focus on flavour, seasonal produce is used whenever possible and the tasty dishes are carefully balanced to get best nutritional value. And of course families and friends are welcome to join them at meal times.

Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

When I visit I am always impressed by the care and attention given to my Aunt. The patience shown by the staff, quite often under trying circumstances, is exemplary.

My darling husband was at Whitefriars, Stamford for over 2 years. Thankfully he settled in well and was happy and content. For me, it was not so easy. The realisation I could no longer manage to care for my husband at home, and his eventual move into a care home left me completely bereft. My husband's
care team was led by the outstanding senior carer, dementia lead and senior carer dementia support, and their dedication, integrity, leadership and clear thinking were exemplary. Along with his key carers, they showed him respect, care, kindness and patience, acknowledging him as an individual, recognising his character and significant contributions of past years.


Working long hours, often under very stressful and difficult circumstances, their kindness, support and understanding was also extended to me. My many wishes for my husband's care were always listened to and accommodated where possible. Over time all of this enabled me to form a good rapport with his care team. This close communication and my very regular visits, allowed me to add my own help and care for my husband and his room.


It is, with much appreciation and heartfelt gratitude, I thank you for all your care. Also, my sincere thank yous to the reception office, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, chefs and kitchen staff.

My mother has been in Whitefriars for five years and I have always felt the staff do a tremendous job. My only comment against Whitefriars is that the food provided could be better. For the amount of money we spend, more variety would be good.
However, they do all they can to provide expert care with
limited resources.

My elderly mother has been a resident at Whitefriars Care Home for a month now and the staff have been lovely, making her welcome, helping her to find her way around and helping her to integrate with other residents and join in with daily activities.
All the staff are very kind and understanding of
her needs (she has Dementia) and allaying her anxieties.

My father has now been at Whitefriars for just over 4 years. In those years, I haven't had any complaints with the care he receives. He is always clean and tidy, as is his room.
The staff on the dementia unit are all lovely and treat my dad with respect and dignity like he is one of their family members.
They keep me up to date with how my dad is and when I visit, which is approximately every 4 weeks, he is always happy. I never have any concerns about his welfare. I would definitely recommend Whitefriars dementia unit to anyone.

I am extremely grateful to the Manager, Administrator, Head Carer and Carers for their professional care that they have given my mother who has Dementia with Lewy Bodies. The Care Home is warm and friendly, very clean and I know that my mother is 100% safe and is well cared for.

After searching for the right place, as soon as we spoke to the Manager, we knew we had found 'Home'. The Manager leads a very dedicated team and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, lots going on and lots of laughter.

My husband has settled well and is on good terms with the staff and management. I am always made welcome at any time. There are smiles and a chatty atmosphere. After struggling for several months, to give the adequate care in her own home to our 96-year-old Mum, we found her a place in Whitefriars in Stamford. Although she was only with us another four months. We had peace of mind knowing she was being so well cared for. I and my Family can't thank everyone

I don't normally do reviews but my father has been in residence at Whitefriars since July 2015. The care my father receives is excellent and all the staff are brilliant with dad. I am so pleased with fathers care I would recommend Whitefriars Stamford to anyone.

A visit to Wizard of Oz pantomime in Peterborough. A ride on the bus and lunch at the Cresset. Dad was reluctant to go, however really enjoyed the show then his meal. Dad was shown so much attention and encouragement by the staff at the home. He was made to feel safe and comfortable. Dad still talks
about his trip to the show!

On a number of occasions I have been visiting and mums teas has just been put down close by her. She is struggling to use cutlery because of arthritic hands but says no to help if offered to cut up food. She has also asked if she can have cheese and biscuits for tea, but this seems to difficult. Yesterday
it was sausage roll and baked beans which she hates! she say she doesn't like to complain because the staff then get grumpy with her. She was also concerned that she cannot have a small amount of money in her room.

Very good review in pleasant, relaxed location lasting 3/4 hour with senior carer, my mother and myself. All aspects discussed from Whitefriars management and care, activities, exercise classes, church services and outings. Care and personal care discussed and more frequent baths requested and requests
for wheelchair (nearly year ago) with doctor to be addressed. Otherwise very good as indicated.

Last time I reviewed Whitefriars I had a few issues, as as result of these and after speaking to the manager and an admiral nurse a lot of the problems have been resolved or are being addressed. Care for my mother has much improved after talking with the senior and admiral nurse, we have agreed on a
care regime. The security issues are being sorted out with the door and I have been assured that there will be extra cleaning and extra staff during the evening. The atmosphere in Primrose area is much more pleasant and there has been more continuity in staffing. I look forward to seeing a continuing improvement under the new manager.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2017

I began my journey with OSJCT in June 2017 as a Senior Carer at Whitefriars Care Home in Stamford. Over the years, I progressed through various roles, including Care Lead, Dementia Lead, and Deputy Manager. In June 2025, I was honoured to be appointed as the Home Manager at Whitefriars, marking a significant milestone in my career.
I have a deep passion for care, particularly for people living with dementia, as this is something very personal to me. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives is what drives me every day.
I have remained with the Trust because of the incredible opportunities for growth and the alignment of the organisation’s values with my own passion for care. The supportive environment and the Trust's mission to provide high-quality care truly resonate with me, making it a place where I can continue to thrive and make a difference.
I love the direct impact I can have on the residents' lives, as well as the sense of fulfilment that comes from the connections I build with them. The team I work with is also a huge part of what I enjoy about the job, as we work closely together to provide the best care possible. Additionally, the constant opportunity to learn and grow in my role keeps me motivated and engaged. It’s incredibly rewarding to make a positive difference in the lives of those we care for.
