Mum was a resident for around 18 months, with a high level of anxiety. The staff were always very calm and reassuring with her, and found ways to help her. As her health declined, the staff really came into their own. Their knowledge and expertise in caring for her and looking after us, her family was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. I'm so grateful mum was looked after by so many kind, caring people and wouldn't hesitate in using their services again.

I visited several care homes looking for the best new home for my dad. After visiting Whitefriars I knew I had found the home that would be where my dad would be comfortable and well cared for. The manager spent a long time with me talking about the home and the philosophy of care. Dad was welcomed in just a few days ago, and while his short term memory loss, along with several other limitations, impacts his independence he has not been left on the sidelines. From what I have seen the team there all work to ensure that the residents are noticed and responded to with warmth and care. For the first time in a long time, I feel okay when I leave my dad, knowing he will be safe, warm and comfortable.

Mum is well looked after and that is a huge comfort to me. After knowing the staff now, they really care for Mum and this really helps me to accept Mum's dementia. They also allow me to vent from time to time which I am grateful for!

It is a home from home. Perfect surroundings, both indoors and out. Wonderful carers. Not a scary home, made the transition from own home to your home so easy.

My sister was very well cared for during the final months of her long life by the staff at Whitefriars. I always met her in the visitor's suite, although her dementia made having a conversation difficult, she had no memory.

All the staff are helpful, kind, friendly and professional. My husband is happy in his own world and safe and contented in this loving environment. A huge comfort and relief to know he is being so well cared for both physically and mentally. The activities are also excellent, very imaginative and enjoyable. A superb home.

On visiting my mother who has dementia, she looked absolutely amazing and totally cared for. The activities that she has been doing is amazing and all the staff were so incredible and couldn't tell me enough re what had been happening and how my mum had settled, I left feeling so happy that our decision is the right one and that's thanks to all the staff.

My mother has been ar Whitefriars since late March. She had dementia and macular degenerations. Staff have been very good with her, helping her to settle in well. This is a difficult time with Covid restrictions, but this is handled well. Mum always looks neat and tidy; enjoys having her hair done. For us, as a family, we are very happy with all aspects of her care. The staff have been very supportive.

I found the lady that did my Covid test really friendly and helpful. It was very nice to see my friend, and the room we were put in was nice and private, plus comfortable. I was a bit anxious about going as this was my first time visiting my friend, but thanks to the staff, I soon felt at ease.

When I visited my friend, my impression was of a very clean and well kept home. The members of staff who I met were friendly and helpful as were the staff members I dealt with on the telephone. I will be happy to visit again.

Even though my father wouldn't leave his bedroom staff did try their hardest to persuade him but to no good, unfortunately. They did help me to get an outside window conversation with him, they were very helpful. Needed court of protection forms completed, they were very helpful again. All in all a good visit, even though it was short, but that was not their fault.

In the current situation and pandemic, I cannot praise the staff at Whitefriars enough. The communication and updates on Dad have been regular when not being able to visit. Dad looks well; he always looks tidy and clean. Now we are able to visit, the set up of this is very organised, and everyone is very welcoming.

Since coming to the home in late August, my father has become a different person in a very good way. The staff are amazing with him. He is so much happier and healthier than in a long time. He is treated with dignity and respect and enjoys the company. My father was giving up on life thinking no one cared but now he laughs and jokes and has a cheeky glint in his eye, which I haven't seen since being a little girl. This home has reunited a father and daughter. Thank you.

Louise Green
Louise GreenJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2017
I began my journey with OSJCT in June 2017 as a Senior Carer at Whitefriars Care Home in Stamford. Over the years, I progressed through various roles, including Care Lead, Dementia Lead, and Deputy Manager. In June 2025, I was honoured to be appointed as the Home Manager at Whitefriars, marking a significant milestone in my career.
I have a deep passion for care, particularly for people living with dementia, as this is something very personal to me. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives is what drives me every day.
I have remained with the Trust because of the incredible opportunities for growth and the alignment of the organisation’s values with my own passion for care. The supportive environment and the Trust's mission to provide high-quality care truly resonate with me, making it a place where I can continue to thrive and make a difference.

I love the direct impact I can have on the residents' lives, as well as the sense of fulfilment that comes from the connections I build with them. The team I work with is also a huge part of what I enjoy about the job, as we work closely together to provide the best care possible. Additionally, the constant opportunity to learn and grow in my role keeps me motivated and engaged. It’s incredibly rewarding to make a positive difference in the lives of those we care for.
