I can't give enough praise for all the care and support for both myself and my late brother. The staff listened to all my worries and acted on them in a very professional way. I was touched that two members of staff managed to attend the funeral. They spoke to the rest of the family which was wonderful.
Thank you Whitefriars.
Reply from Anna Jennings, On Behalf of The Team at WhitefriarsWe are sorry for your loss and would like to say thank you for taking the time to write your kind review. The team are touched by your words and are grateful for the memories they have, caring for your brother.

My 90-year-old father had two weeks of respite care here to give my mother a break. From the moment I rang to arrange the stay (which was done last minute) to the moment I collected him we received a 5-star service. Every member of staff we came into contact with was lovely and obviously happy to work
there. Dad was very apprehensive about going but enjoyed his time there and the food! He now feels happy about going in to give Mum a break whenever necessary. The thing that struck me was that everyone had time to chat and really got to know my dad during his short stay. What an amazing team you all are. Thank you so much.
Reply from Helen Dearing, On behalf of the team at WhitefriarsWhat a wonderful story, and one I'm sure will help others in a similar position. Thank you for your kind words. I'm so pleased your dad enjoys his time with us and he will always be welcome here, should he need to use our services again. Please, if there is anything else we can do for him, your mother (or you!), just ask.

This was our first visit to Whitefriars as our mum had only recently arrived. We were so impressed by the staff who knew all about how she was settling in. The manager took time to explain to us exactly how things were going and what the plan was going forward.

My father's room looked amazing when I visited today. Very clean and fresh looking plus the window open meant it smelt very pleasant.
I found the housekeeper lady and congratulated her personally and thanked her on my father's behalf.
Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at WhitefriarsThanks so much for your comments and I'm glad your father is happy with his room with us. Thanks for sharing with our housekeeper - I'll pass it on to the home manager too as it's always nice to hear positive feedback.

I was very nervous about seeing my grandma for the first time in Whitefriars as it was a sad decision to make but all the staff were so friendly, kind and caring and made me feel at ease. It is such a lovely, clean and welcoming place and my grandma is so very happy. Thank you to the wonderful staff
who are just brilliant. Also, the daily menus are amazing!

My husband was in Whitefriars from September 2021 until his sudden death on the 4th of December 2022. In the fifteen months he was in care he was treated with dignity and respect. He was not only cared for but he was cared about. He could not have been in a better place. He was happy and looked upon
Whitefriars as his home and the staff as family. I can only say a huge thank you to all there.
Reply from Freya Higgs, Marketing Administrator at WhitefriarsI am so sorry for your loss and thank you for your kind comment. It is lovely to hear how much of an impression our team and the home made on your husband. I will pass this on to them.

The manager and staff are all very welcoming, friendly and approachable. They clearly knew the resident well and had time to explain to visiting family about a recent progress update. Also fixed a maintenance issue on the day of visit as soon as we reported it. Really encouraged to hear about plans

So pleased to have Dad at Whitefriars. We know he is well cared for, and the staff have taken the time to get to know him. He enjoys the freedom of the garden in the dementia unit and has settled in well. He is accepted as he is - no one tried to fit him into a schedule he doesn't understand. All the
staff, from catering to management, are so kind and helpful.

My mum was a resident in Whitefriars up until July 2022. She was so happy and cared for in her time, like a family member. Very homely and warm feeling, always raised concerns if any. Right up until my mum passed away, the staff and end-of-life care were outstanding and attentive. Would recommend always,
in my experience.

My mum was placed in this home after we removed her from a different one. Mum was brought back to life from the love and the care the staff provided for my mum. We watched her become happy and content once more. The staff are always open and honest with you. Mum's needs were always the priority. Can't

Mum was a resident for around 18 months, with a high level of anxiety. The staff were always very calm and reassuring with her, and found ways to help her. As her health declined, the staff really came into their own. Their knowledge and expertise in caring for her and looking after us, her family was
exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. I'm so grateful mum was looked after by so many kind, caring people and wouldn't hesitate in using their services again.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.719)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.719) out of 10 for Whitefriars is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.719 for Whitefriars is calculated as follows: ( (189 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 249 Ratings = 4.719
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Whitefriars is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2017

I began my journey with OSJCT in June 2017 as a Senior Carer at Whitefriars Care Home in Stamford. Over the years, I progressed through various roles, including Care Lead, Dementia Lead, and Deputy Manager. In June 2025, I was honoured to be appointed as the Home Manager at Whitefriars, marking a significant milestone in my career.
I have a deep passion for care, particularly for people living with dementia, as this is something very personal to me. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives is what drives me every day.
I have remained with the Trust because of the incredible opportunities for growth and the alignment of the organisation’s values with my own passion for care. The supportive environment and the Trust's mission to provide high-quality care truly resonate with me, making it a place where I can continue to thrive and make a difference.
I love the direct impact I can have on the residents' lives, as well as the sense of fulfilment that comes from the connections I build with them. The team I work with is also a huge part of what I enjoy about the job, as we work closely together to provide the best care possible. Additionally, the constant opportunity to learn and grow in my role keeps me motivated and engaged. It’s incredibly rewarding to make a positive difference in the lives of those we care for.
