The Wyngate is a completely different residency from where Mum was living previously. She is cared for with more compassion and seems to engage with activities. She is well looked after by the carers who do actually spend time with her. She is walking better, eating better, and her medicines are monitored
properly for a change! The carers, all very nice people, also monitor her blood pressure regularly, which was not done at her previous home as required. The whole general feel of the place is better all round, and that gives comfort to us, as we live a fair distance away. It just goes to show you can have a modern care home with all the fascilities that never got, used or even removed after a while, and one like the Wyngate, while not a modern building , but with caring management, care staff, support workers and great honest to goodness chefs who create wholesome filling meals for those living there! Top marks Wyngate !

The staff are great, they do care and not just doing a job, the standard of care is high and family oriented ie they rate the residents as family it is their home not institutional to any degree. No it is not a 5star hotel it is a home from home .
Food is good and the chefs deserve praise .
The
cleaners are on top of things and everything is clean and tidy they put the work in again they too deserve praise.

My daughter resides at Wyngate and I have always found the staff helpful and polite. She is always giving staff a hug and smile and has always been okay when we leave her. She has been going for respite for a number of years prior to her full-time residential care and we consider ourselves lucky to
have got such a wonderful placement for her. I can’t single out anyone in particular as each and every staff member has shown a level of care which is of the highest standard.
Reply from Gill Croucher, Home Manager at WyngateThank you very much for that lovely feedback and endorsement for Wyngate.
You have a lovely daughter and its a pleasure to care for her.

My parents came to Wyngate in February 2022. We were greeted by amazing staff. The staff go above and beyond to care for my mum and dad and all their needs are met. They are clean, well fed and 'watered'. The Manager is fantastic and I feel I can sleep at night knowing they are safe and happy and their
medication is taken properly. They won't be going anywhere else.
Reply from Gill Croucher, Home Manager at WyngateThank you so much for your kind words. Everyone loves your daughter and I think she loves us too judging by our cuddles. She is settled and content and enjoys her trips home with you and the outings to see the ducks etc. We are very happy with how well she has settled and will always do our best to keep her well. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.343)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.343) out of 10 for Wyngate is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Wyngate is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.51 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wyngate is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.2 = 0.385
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
