Since the recent change in management, the home has the most amazing feeling. Staff are happy, activities are varied, and the quality of life in the home is back to the lively home it should be! Seeing the staff dancing around the reception in the morning and singing to residents whilst providing care. I am a volunteer and have come back to support the home now that life has changed after Covid. Well done to all the carers and management team. I look forward to visiting regularly and helping out as we recently have for an amazing wedding held at Brampton.

My husband has been on Signal Walk for 15 months.
When permanent staff on duty he is well cared for. He is treated with respect and as part of the family.
He has chosen not to join in with the daily entertainment but it has been provided majority of the time. Interrupted by covid restrictions.
Has had to move onto the dementia unit which for me is sad, but the support I had from the staff has been amazing, and I can't thank them enough.
The cleaners, catering and reception staff have been wonderful to him and nothing was too much trouble.

Thanks to the Manager and the management and entertainment team for a wonderful wedding reception created for my husband to join in our son and daughter-in-law's wedding celebrations. Thanks to every one of the Brampton View team, whatever role they play.

I loved how the staff showed genuine concern and genuine love for Dad. They were able to share some lovely stories with us and there was real warmth and it felt like he had a new family at Barchester Brampton View Care Home. They looked after all the family in his last few days and that helped us to cope with his passing. All staff from nurses, care assistants, activities, reception, catering and cleaning were respectful, kind and caring and demonstrated a great balance of professional and friendly and supportive. Oh, and management were great too - nearly forgot!

From the moment Dad first stepped into Barchester Brampton View Care Home he was welcomed and cared for. One of the receptionists walked arm in arm with him down the corridor, chatting away. Dad had found not just a place for retirement but a new home. He thrived there, accepted for who he was - a gentleman and a 'character'.

Thank you to so many of the staff there who genuinely helped him live out his last three years surrounded by people who had his best interests at heart and who loved him for who he was.

Thank you for your very kind words which I will pass on to our team members. It was a pleasure to care for your father. He was a kind person, a true gentleman with a lovely smile, and we all enjoyed chatting to him. We are sorry for your loss but pleased we could make his last years comfortable and enjoyable here at Brampton View.

This has been the most wonderful home for my mother to spend the last year of her life in. The care given to her was exemplary. Mum who was immobile and communication with difficulty was treated with great respect. She was kept spotlessly clean, as was her room and beautifully dressed and comfortable. Her dietary needs were well catered for. She was cured of a very nasty bedsore (received elsewhere) after a very short time at Brampton View.

All the staff, nurses, care assistants and receptionists were friendly, caring and proficient. During lockdowns, I could facetime every day. When I visited I was always made so welcome. The home is also beautiful like a very nice hotel. Excellent

I came here to convalesce following a server heart attack. At first, I felt very unwell, but the staff cared for me with tact and patience. After a week, I began to feel better and now after two weeks, I'm ready to go home. Staff are cheerful, helpful and kind. Food is excellent - of high quality. The soups are magnificent! Service in the dining room is good, housekeeping and laundry also. Management has been helpful in offering extra help eg - visits and hairdressing. This is a good place to be. I'm going home but might well return one day. Thank you.

My dad had been a resident at Brampton View Nursing for almost 18-months. He had his 100th birthday while being resident and was always treated with great respect, kindness, understanding and certainly treated with dignity at all times.
Being blind and hard of hearing became a problem for him to interact with other residents. I visited him daily and fed Dad his lunch - some meals he thoroughly enjoyed from the kitchen. Generally, I was informed of every medical/health issues he had on my visits.
Rooms were cleaned on a regular basis, and the whole establishment smelt fresh on arrival and looked amazing.
Lots of banter with staff/carers, this it made him feel really comfortable and “at home” in his surroundings.
Suggestions: need more conversationalist interactivity with some residents; stimulating time.
Dads needs were certainly taken care of during his stay, and for this, I am truly happy and very grateful.

Laundry service a nightmare - continual problems of missing /lost garments.ms of missing /lost garments.

The staff at Barchester Brampton View are selfless and dedicated both as individuals and as a team. Any concerns or questions raised, have been answered frankly and openly, always with the best interests of the residents in mind.
I have often turned up unannounced and been made to feel welcome; nothing is hidden.

I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this care home regardless of whether the resident would require nursing, dementia or residential care.

The care staff are friendly, kind and courteous, showing commendable patience and sympathy in dealing with residents. The organisation of backup services leaves a lot to be desired. In particular, the food is of variable quality in its preparation and kind for people having difficulty in feeding themselves. The laundry service is poor. Items get lost or mislaid with alarming regularity eg., 4 cardigans lost in 2 years.

Hello. I am Cristina. I joined Brampton View in 2023 as Head of the Memory Lane Unit and have just taken the role of Deputy Manager.

I bring a vast amount of knowledge and experience. I am passionate about the care I provide for our residents and proud that I am part of a team that is dedicated to the same goals and values to continually improve the quality, health and wellbeing of all our residents in the home.

I work closely with the general practitioners, district nurses, occupational therapists, dieticians and other external agencies that support the residents.

Therapeutic benefits through activities are important to the residents, and we have a lovely garden in which we grow flowers and vegetables. I have 35 years of culinary experience, and I have had the privilege of working in many locations, including the island of Bermuda for 10 years and Scotland for 8 years, where I ran my own restaurants. I have also had the pleasure of putting my culinary talents to the test for royalty and other famous people.

Since working in healthcare, I have found such fulfilment in being able to provide enjoyment for the residents in their mealtime experience. It feels like cooking for my extended family. I enjoy taking time out of my day to visit the residents to ask for feedback on the meals and tailor the menu for their preferences, as it is their menu! At Brampton view we run our Pudding Club, where each month we recreate a resident’s recipe from their lives and I have provided a cooking demonstration of this. As well as being the nutrition champion for the home I like to take part in the Barchester competitions I involve the residents and my wider team in these, I was also nominated for Chef of the year! Christmas 2023 I produced a gingerbread house advert calendar where each day a different resident could open a house for a treat in the countdown to Christmas. Easter 2024 I won the Easter cake competition with my Easter story cake showing the crucifixion of Jesus and the tradition seminal cake. We also won the best Ice Cream Sundae!

Hello, I'm Kim, and I've had the pleasure of being a part of the wonderful Brampton View team since 2015. Starting off as the Activities Lead, I quickly moved into the role of Activity Coordinator, where I found a deep passion for creating a fantastic environment within our home. I also supported the housekeeping team to ensure everything was spick and span. In 2018, I was thrilled to step into the position of Head Housekeeper and lead my own amazing team.

Over the past 4 and a half years, we've built a diverse housekeeping team that is dedicated to providing our residents with a clean, organised, and personalised living space. I take immense pride in maintaining the highest cleanliness standards and ensuring that our environment is always impeccable.

Aside from keeping our living space pristine, I love spending time with the residents, often offering them a comforting hot drink or a freshly baked cake. I aim to support both residents and staff in the day-to-day operations of our beautiful home.

Outside of work, I have a deep passion for the environment and find peace in the therapeutic benefits of freshwater swimming, and I am an avid runner, which I've enjoyed for many years, and have taken part in many marathons. Hello. I am Amanda. I joined the team at Brampton View in 2022 as a Team Leader. I have achieved my diploma in Level 3 in Health and Social Care and bring more than 30 years of care experience to Brampton View. I have worked in many different care services, including learning disabilities. I was also privileged to manage 2 care home settings through the pandemic.

Care started within my family setting when I was younger, and I worked with St John Ambulance for 14 years, also as a volunteer with them as a First Aid trainer. I then joined the care sector in 2012 with palliative care. I was able to provide support to patients and families, building rapport and empathy.

Hello, I'm Marta, Second Chef at Brampton View. With over 12 years of experience, I have worked my way up from a housekeeper to a carer, then a hospitality team member, and finally to my current role as Second Chef. My journey began when I discovered a passion for baking, which led me to become a kitchen assistant and eventually attain the position of Second Chef, a role that I have cherished for the past 6 years.

Originally from the Philippines, I started my career as a housekeeper for a private family before taking on similar roles in Singapore. Hello, I'm Matter, a senior carer at Brampton View, and I've been working at the home since 2023. Originally from Zimbabwe, I have been a registered nurse there since 2006, and my qualifications are still recognised in my home country. My brother, also a nurse at Barchester in Somerset, encouraged me to apply for positions closer to home and started working as a care assistant. I was soon promoted to senior carer when the opportunity arose.

I am naturally caring and compassionate, and I strive to support our residents in living their best lives at the home. I have a keen instinct for providing the best care, and I actively engage with residents, their families, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for all involved.

Outside of work, my beautiful family - my husband and four children - are my passion, and I take great joy in caring for their needs. My Christian faith is a cornerstone of my life, and it complements my approach to care. In my leisure time, I enjoy socialising with friends and playing a competitive game of tennis.

Hello, I'm Scot, Head of Maintenance at Brampton View, and I've been dedicated to the home since 2025. With 18 years of experience in the care home sector, I bring a wealth of maintenance knowledge to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the residents, staff, and the home itself. My commitment is to deliver the highest quality workmanship, no matter the size of the task.

It's incredibly rewarding to see how these efforts enhance their quality of life, and the overall reward is just seeing the joy it brings!

Beyond work, my partner and our two wonderful children are my top priority, and caring for their needs brings me great pride. I also enjoy following football as an avid Liverpool supporter.

Hello, I'm Mary, one of the Senior Care Assistants here at Brampton View. I have been part of this wonderful team for nearly 3 years, starting as a care assistant and recently being promoted to a senior. I take great pride in the supportive and caring environment that we have here; it truly feels like a family, and this is reflected in the exceptional care and support we provide for our residents.

Before coming to the UK, I was living and working in Nigeria as a retailer. Now, I have settled into life here, made many friends, and enjoy a bit of window shopping in my free time. Despite the distance, I stay connected with my family back home through endless hours of FaceTime, making sure we catch up on everything that's happening in each of our lives.

Hello, I'm Comfort, a registered nurse at Brampton View. With over 35 years of nursing experience, I have been part of this home for the past 5 years as a bank nurse. Originally from Nigeria, I began my career in a large hospital before seizing the opportunity to work and study in the UK, which opened up new and exciting career prospects. Eventually, I settled in London with my beautiful family.

I find great fulfilment in the caring environment of the care home. The smaller size allows for long-term relationships to form between the residents and the staff, creating a sense of family. Our dedicated team works together to provide the best care through support and encouragement, ensuring the well-being of our residents.

In my free time, I enjoy leisurely window shopping and remain dedicated to my Christian faith. I also cherish spending time with my grandchildren whenever possible.
