Hello. I am Julie, I joined Brampton View in 2011 as Housekeeper and continued in this role for 12 years and made the decision last year to move to the Activities team which I am very passionate about the work I do here in the home. During my time as a housekeeper, I spent time with the residents and loved looking after their home, making the residents happy made me happy. The residents are like my second family and I want to give them the care, support and compassion that I would expect for my own family especially my grandparents.
Moving into the activities team has allowed me to spend more time with the residents and give them more enjoyment and happiness as we create and organise the activities and events that caters to the needs, abilities and requests of our residents. It allows me to see the joy that we bring and meet families and friends who can give us more insight to the individual residents their history, hobbies, interests and what roles they had to allow us to create and plan activities that will be of interest to them.
As a child I was always drawn to help others, with a cheery character I had been asked on various occasions to join the activities team and I’m so glad that I chose to change over. Whilst I am passionate about my work, I also value my time at home with my family and spend as much time I can with my parents. I enjoy my time out walking with my 2 dogs, Coco and Bobby.
Hello, I am Sarah, I am the Activity Coordinator and Lead at Brampton View. I truly believe in enriching the lives of others and ensuring the care we provide helps everyone live to their fullest.
What makes us all so special is that every single one of us is different, with our own unique needs – that's what makes us beautifully unique! My passion is to give people the chance to feel connected, empowered, and to have a real sense of purpose. This is especially important for those who might be less able, as fostering those connections and feelings of belonging can make a world of difference. Ultimately, my goal is to create activities that are all about you, bringing happiness and joy right into our home.
When I'm not at Brampton View, my home is a lively hub! I live with my partner, our three wonderful children, three dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and a snake! I adore being out in nature and soaking up family time when I can!
My background has given me valuable experience in supporting people through challenging times. I've worked in rehabilitation, providing dedicated care to an individual with a brain injury in his own home, and also as a communication guide for an individual living with a brain tumour. In addition to my work here at Brampton View, I'm also a Reiki Practitioner, which I help individuals move forward from past trauma, gain clarity, and build strong self-belief.
