My father came into Burlington Court 12 months ago when I could no longer manage his care at home.

I cannot rate the care he has received highly enough. Or the support I have received.

Most of the staff on his unit are the same staff who welcomed him in. Very unusual.

For the past 4 months

he has been bed-bound. He has been turned regularly and consequently has had no bed sores.

He is kept spotlessly clean and he is in a lovely room.

Now he is approaching the end of his life and he will do so in the same room with the same staff. There is policy of keeping residents rather than shipping them out to hospital.

A relatives room has been made available for me if I need it.

My father who is deaf and blind and has dementia has been treated with dignity and tenderness. I could not wish for better care.

My mother came to Burlington Court in July 2015 aged 99 years old, and almost blind, she was no longer able to look after herself. Since then, the family and caring staff have tended to mum's needs, and offered every encouragement. She is content and comfortable, and our worries are eased now that she
received 24 hour care. Recently, the home hosted a lovely party to celebrate mum's 100th birthday.

My father went to reside at Burlington Court in August of last year and didn't take long to settle in. Having lived in his own home until then the family wondered whether he would adjust to living in this type of community but he did. He was made to feel very welcome. The staff are wonderful, nothing
is too much trouble, they are all so cheerful and caring. In house entertainment is provided and he is taken out for lunches and afternoon tea which he enjoys. He regards Burlington as his home and it is a comfort to his family that he feels safe and happy there. We are so pleased we found this wonderful home for dad.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Burlington Court and relieved to know that she is now safe after a difficult year. As I can only visit at the weekends I only see that situation which is obviously quieter than weekdays but I can view the photographs to see that she is starting to
join in the activities. The staff treat her kindly and with respect.

Hi there Manager and Staff Thank you so much for sending me your up
and coming events. Every time I visit The Burlington Residential Nursing Home I have so much fun joining in with the activity team. The way your staff look after, respect and entertain the residents is outstanding. Your dining room and the food that is served is hotel standard, the choice is very inviting and having eaten there on many occasions I can definitely recommend the menu so keep up the good work and I hope to see you soon.

Mum lived at Burlington Court for the last 18 months of her life, passing away peacefully surrounded by a team of dedicated, loving people who supported her and the family to the end. She was happy at Burlington Court, treated with dignity and came out of herself enjoying company and activities. I
closely monitored her time and the care provided watching and listening to staff interactions whenever I visited (at least weekly for half a day) I always felt she was treated as if a member of each member of staff's family. I was treated as if mum was the only person they were caring for they are an exceptional team.

My father was cared for at Burlington Court for the last seven months of his life. The staff are extremely well trained in dementia care and nothing was too much trouble for them. They treated dad with dignity care and compassion throughout his time there and supported the family with just as much care.
It meant so much to all of us to know he was safe and well cared for. Burlington staff are exceptional having experienced two other homes prior to dad joining them. I cant praise them enough for what they did for dad and the family.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.682)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.682) out of 10 for Burlington Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.682 for Burlington Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (66 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 277 Ratings = 4.682
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Burlington Court Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 102 registered maximum number of service users is 20.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
