A lovely friendly home where my mum is felt to be part of a big family, well cared for and looked after, especially in the lockdown we are going through right now. Reassuring that they have set video calling up and I can stay in touch and see my mum, helps my mum too as she can see me and my family on the screen. Great to get email updates too. Food is great and staff are very friendly and helpful, lovely to have the social media page so we can see what they are getting up to and nice to see they have a range of activities that they can join in with. I have already recommended to several people. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review, we really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for your lovely comments, they mean a lot at the moment. We look forward to welcoming you back to Oxendon House as soon as we are able to.
Oxendon House is a superbly run care home but more than that the staff are the kindest most caring people you could hope for. The last two months during the COVID-19 lockdown it has meant so much to all our family to know that Dad has been so well looked after.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review, and for your comments. I will make sure to pass them onto the rest of the team. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again as soon as we are able to have visitors.
The care and treatment in the home has been of a very good standard. The staff are always happy to help. Nothing is too much trouble, it’s a very comfortable and homely place to be, with friendly staff.
Thank you for your comments, and for taking the time to write us a review. It is much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you as soon as we are able to have visitors again.
I do not know about any other care homes so cannot compare. The staff are kind and understanding as she has various problems they have to deal with. I think she is as happy as can be expected.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, we really appreciate it and your comments. Thanks again.
Care staff always approachable and responsive to any questions regarding care quickly and professionally. Care Home is always clean and tidy, both individual rooms and communal areas.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, we really appreciate your comments. I will make sure to pass on your feedback to both our care and housekeeping teams. Thanks again.
My mother had respite care for 7 weeks. She was made to feel welcome and all staff made a determined effort to involve her in activities. They were kind and considerate to my mother's needs and cognitive ability. Meals could be taken in the dining room or own room as my mother wished. As a family, we were listened to and encouraged to visit at any time. All our questions were answered courteously and honestly.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Jenny. It was a pleasure having your mother at the home and your input in helping her to settle was very much appreciated.
The treatment and care that my parents received was wonderful. The home has my deep gratitude and support, first class.
My father only stayed in this care home for one night as on the morning following his admission we visited mid-morning and it was clear that we needed to get him straight out again.
Although we accept that we could have done better in relation to the short stay of the resident referred to in this review, we do feel that the review is very unfair. We do not feel the resident was ready to come into a care home, and came to us late on a Friday afternoon against our...
We like going out on the bud. They are very supportive.
More staff are needed at times.
Thank you for enabling me to be with my husband of 66 years.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, we really appreciate it. And thank you for your feedback, especially regarding our staffing. We are working hard recruiting at the moment and hope to have any vacant roles filled ASAP. Thanks again, I will make sure to pass your feedback onto the rest of the team.
I don't think I can add anything other except to say I am very pleased that we chose Oxenden House as a home for my husband now that I can no longer look after him.
The care home is very good.
The home was able to provide convalescence care at short notice. The room was new and well equipped, the bathroom was disability friendly. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The food was standard but a good choice each day. The manager was new to the role but the home appeared to be well run. We would definitely return in the future should further care be required.
Since there has been a new manager, things in the home are so much better. The staff are great even though there are not enough on duty to be in all the areas. Weekends are often the worst. The care for my husband is great but there often doesn't seem to be time to deal with basic needs. He has been in Oxendon House Care Home for over two years and the best care is now.
Everyone here seems really friendly and welcoming. My friend always seems really happy when I visit. They have started to eat well again as they really enjoy the food, it's nice to see that it's all home style cooking. The new rooms look fantastic.
My mother was accepted at Oxendon House after an extreme crisis period and hospital care of 4.5 months. I was distraught at the through of putting my vibrant, self assured mother into a home. I needn't have worried. Mum's health and mental capacity have improved dramatically since moving in. The care and respect she receives is 2nd to none. All staff care about her, and for her, nothing is too much trouble. The Senior Nurse and the home Manager have both provided me with the support to accept this position. They have been, and conitnue to be, way above what I expected, such professionals with over arching 'care' for both the residents and their families. I am truly blown away by how much all the staff do for mum and all other residents, they truly care and I have seen several very light hearted moments where everyone is laughing. Mum has a beautiful room and bathroom and has 'visits' several times a day from staff 'popping in' with tea, snacks, medications etc... often sitting down for a little chat. Mum absolutely loves it there, something I never thought she would accept. She loves the food, adores her room, enjoys the food and most of all has the freedom to get involved with little household activities which remind her of her independent days. She helps with handing out teas, tidying the 'sock drawer' and the day room as she feel fit to, something that some homes would not allow. It has proved to be Mum's saviour and I can once again see her vibrant personality shining through. She is safe, happy and in the best place she could possibly be. If you are at all concerned about putting a loved one into a home, check out Oxendon House, I would recommend it. I feel happy having my mum live there and I'm not an easy lady to please!
From the moment she arrived she was made to feel so special and everyone made great efforts to get to know her and I will be eternally grateful that she spent her last days amount such caring and professional people.
My visits were always welcomed and the staff were always courteous and ready to assist with any issues that I might have, the home is run as a family environment so I found it easy to visit.
I would also like to say a great thanks to the management team for their invaluable advice and support regarding dementia care, they were very good at simplifying some of the issues we encountered when trying to find a home for our loved one.
The home is excellent, clean and well run and I would recommend it to anyone who has a relative with dementia.
