Friendly staff provided a warm welcome to the home. Was directed to the relevant location the manager was in the home and although not necessarily her working hours she took time to speak to both residents and visitors which was much appreciated. The home is very nicely decorated comfortable and very
well kept. All staff seem very caring and friendly. My brother-in-law is there on a few weeks respite, has dementia seemed quite happy.

Cannot praise the staff and care provided at Oxendon House enough. My Dad firstly moved here for Respite with a view to permanent placement. From first communication, staff were helpful and knowledgable. Finding the perfect place for your loved one isn't easy but the team at Oxendon were supportive
and patient with our questions and requests.
On the day we moved dad in, it was late afternoon/early evening, the team were waiting for us, with a meal ready to give Dad some comfort. New place and food waiting was a hit with him. This hadn't been requested by us it was simply something the home recognised was important.
The continued care and interaction I have had with each and every staff member I have encountered since that first afternoon has continued in the same vein. Helpful, communicative, understanding, supportive and knowledgeable. There is always something going on to encourage him to socialise and engage with others. I would definitely recommend Oxendon House.

Dad became a resident in November 2025, my brother and myself share the view that the staff and environment are perfect for my Dad's medical condition and needs. The staff are very patient, friendly and compassionate when dealing with Dad's very demanding nature. It's very homely and welcoming, it does
feel like home from home. We often say its better than some hotels we've stayed in! The most important aspect for us as a family is that when we leave Dad after a visit we 100% know that he is being cared for and is safe, and that is what makes Oxendon House excellent.

My mother was at Avenue House for nearly five years and during that whole time we found the home to be very clean and tidy , very professionally run by an extremely able team who were always very friendly towards residents and family members .
She enjoyed her time there and her standard of care was
excellent. The staff were always caring and thoughtful.
We were impressed by the frequent activities , the activity coordinators are great , and arranged a variety of activities and were very attentive and encouraging to the residents.
Numerous visiting external entertainment was often arranged for residents which my mother enjoyed .
There was always a good variety of food and the kitchen staff always ensured my mother had food that she enjoyed.
Sadly my mother passed away at the beginning of December, and the staff were very caring and sensitive in her final weeks .
We thank the WHOLE team for their support and care during my mother's time there.

The staff at the home, especially Simon , have been exemplary in looking after my parents as they went in together in October. Their needs are very different. Mum has Alzheimer's whereas Dad is just elderly.
The environment and the staff have helped my parents and myself cope with the changes in their
lives. Well done.

After a stay in hospital my uncle became frail and was deemed unfit to go back home and thankfully Avenue House had a room spare so he was discharged there in September 24.He was a private person and took a while to accept having to be washed and changed due to being bedridden and took a while getting
used to the staff and accepting that he was not going home . He liked having his door closed and was not always talkative so the staff respected his privacy and would always call back later to see how he was . He always liked the meals and really liked the desserts and could always hear the tea trolley coming round . Being bedridden he was regularly visited to do puzzles to keep his mind active . His medical needs were well cared for and I was always informed if he was not well and if the doctor needed to visit . Early October 25 his health drastically declined and he peacefully passed away with me and his friend by his side . The family are so grateful for the care they gave him .

Mum has been a resident at Avenue House for over 7 years and has always been treated with respect and dignity. The staff are always friendly, and we are always greeted with a smile. All the staff are very well trained and rewarded for their hard work and achievements. WE are always kept informed of
any problems with mum's health by the head nurse or deputy. The food is always freshly cooked by the kitchen staff, and always a choice of 2 dinners. The home is kept clean, and the residents are always clean and well-dressed. The manager's door is always open if we need to discuss anything.

Both of my parents have been cared for here in the home for a few years now.
The care and respect has been excellent since the beginning.

My 95 year old father spent the last four months of his life at St Andrew's where he was nursed and cared for with dignity, respect and compassion. Every single member of staff - care, nursing, ancillary - and management clearly had my father's health, best interests and comfort in mind at all times.
Every time I visited my father he was clean, warm, safe and well-fed. The staff even stepped in to provide swift and professional medical assistance to my mother when she collapsed whilst visiting my father. Towards the end of his life the palliative care that was provided, and the support to our family, was exemplary. I cannot recommend this home highly enough, and the wonderful staff have my eternal gratitude for making an old man's last months as comfortable and fulfilling as possible.
