Review from A B (Son of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother opted to seek residence at Nightingales following a serious stroke.
She had been resident for a period a few years earlier, and although that stay was 'ok' it wasn't what she, or we hoped for.
However, we were aware of changes made very recently at the Nursing home, and decided that previous performance isn't always indicative of how things are now.
We moved my mother in at the beginning of July and were genuinely delighted on how things had changed, and how kind, caring and considerate the staff were, from the cleaners up to the manager.
My mother was treated with love and respect, and was beginning to settle in well.
Sadly, my mother died 2 weeks ago whilst resident, but the story doesn't end there.

All of the staff, and I mean all, were so kind and supportive during a truly upsetting and traumatic time, nothing was too much for them, for which we are truly grateful.

My Dad has been a resident at Nightingale Care Home for 5 years, during this time I have seen many improvements, all the staff are lovely, you can see that they really care about the residents, they always have a smile and a friendly word for both the residents & visitors, the care home has a very engaging entertainment program which they share with relatives, following a few illnesses, & hospital visits, I have seem a definite improvement in his wellbeing.

The care that Mum receives from the home is amazing. They are so professional, but they make it feel like her own home. Their interaction's with both Mum and the family are special to watch. Kisses are blown on a daily basis from the maintenance staff, to the cleaners and nursing staff.

It is so good to see the new management team in, who have made a great effort to meet the family of the residents and to feel as if they are personally involved with the residents.

My relative has now been in Nightingale for the last 2+ years and during this time I have found the staff extremly capable and experinced, helpful and efficient and most of all caring to each individual they look after.
The home is pleasant clean and bright and airy and welcoming.

I appreciate the care and understanding it takes to look after elderly people with all their many foibles and characteristics and their work is much appreciated

My mother-in-law has been in this home since last June and since then she has thrived, the staff are so kind and any problems I can talk to them, or management, there door is always open. The home is welcoming and we know all the staff by name, and we like that they call us by our first names, as it makes you feel like one of the family. The rooms are comfortable, with a walk in shower, the food is good, and they do a marvellous job, overall it takes a lot of my mind knowing she is happy and well looked after.

The staff are amazing. The level of care that they provide for my mother is first class. They stimulate her following a severe stroke and are compassionate, thoughtful and genuinely put the "care" into care.

Being such an independent lady prior to her stroke, it has been a difficult adjustment to make. I would class the whole team as friends and an extension to our family.

Nightingale Care Home is unique. The Management is brilliant and is absolutely first class in every way and goes that extra mile. The nurses are second to none and the carers are just brilliant. My father was in end-of-life care and they looked after him and made him feel safe and nothing was too much trouble. You could rest easy when you went home knowing that the care was the best. They are a great team and made you part of their family and looked after you. I practically went every day and there wasn't a day when anything wasn't too much trouble. I will miss them. Dad sadly passed away and it was so heartbreaking, but they looked after me and gave my dad a good send-off from the care home. I cannot thank them enough and I will forever be eternally grateful to everyone. Thank you, Nightingale, from the bottom of my heart, you really are truly amazing and come with a 10-star rating. Your ethos and values are of the highest standards. Thank you.

I am quite happy here. The staff are nice to me. I stay in my room a lot as it's nice and quiet. The ladies are very noisy and shout a lot, we men are different and just sit. The meals are ok, better some days than others but we do get a choice. My wife comes to see me nearly every day and if in my room she feeds me.

From the moment my mum came to live at Nightingale, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. It's been a roller coaster of emotions since November 23, made easier to cope with because of the wonderful care my mum receives daily because I have been able to visit my mum daily. Nightingale residents/staff have become part of my life, suppose you could say a family.

Nothing is too much for my mum, they all make her feel safe and cared for. I couldn't ask for more than that. The management is first class, always on hand if we need them, same with all the staff. They take time in their busy day to ask how I am too. We know my mum's time is getting closer; when I lose her, I will also lose a special bond to Nightingale also.
