Nightingale Nursing & Care Home

Management and staff have taken every precaution to keep residents safe, healthy and happy during the difficult time of COVID. Had a pod visit with my mum recently she looked happy and well cared for. Thank you to all the staff at Nightingale. Looking forward to indoor visits.

(I know that renovations to the rooms and public areas are in process at the moment but due to Covid restrictions I have not seen the results hence satisfactory ratings.)

Mum has been a resident at Nightingale Care Home since November 2020. Her care has been 2nd to none, well looked after, made to feel welcome and loved. The care team are wonderful and dedicated, the activities are organised really well. Mum said she would just sit and watch at the beginning, but she does partake in some activities now. She gets some lovely meals and tries hard to eat what she can. We have seen her come out of herself, since living in a sheltered living flat before on her own. Not been able to go inside the home, but hoping to one day.

Couldn't be happier with the care given to dad. He always seems happy when I speak to him and there's always lots to keep him occupied. The staff are very kind and always go the extra mile to make sure he is well looked after.

We are so impressed with the care that Nightingale staff have given our mum during this very difficult time (COVID 19). We have been supported as a family and nothing is too much trouble. Our mum is always saying how kind they are to her and we couldn't ask for any more than that. We haven't been inside yet but we can't wait to be able to chat face to face with the carers who are caring for our mum and say thank you.

The care my grandma receives at this care home is excellent. The staff are always happy to help and nothing is too much trouble. The home is always clean and smells homely. It is a very welcoming place to visit and a fantastic place for my grandma to live.

My mum has been a resident here for three months. The staff are more than superb and treat her with dignity and good care. She says the food is wonderful. We have been impressed by the care and consideration of every person we have encountered at the home.

Nightingale care home, in my experience, is everything we could have wished for in helping our elderly mother. Your staff are very keen to help in everyday matters. Our mother came to Nightingale in January 2018 and everyone has worked above and beyond our expectations. We are very grateful to them all.

Having cared for mum at home and showed care with my sister it came to a time that because of her blindness and dementia, we could no longer give her the care she needed. Since being in Nightingales Care Hone we are thankful for their help, care and friendliness of the staff. Mum is a poor eater and the kitchen staff go out of their way to tempt her. Her accommodation is very good. This has helped us at a very trying time.

To begin with, my sister and I were disappointed not to get mum into another home. Mum has been in Nightingale Care Home about two months now and has been overwhelmed by the care and compassion given to mum. Her room is very homely and has all her own things in it. Not only are the staff good to mum but have been very good to us during a difficult time. The kitchen staff have also made her good food as she is a very fussy eater.

My sister and I chose Nightingale for our father who has dementia/Alzheimers. He was cared for at home by us till he suffered a stroke. We visited the home to see what it was like and spoke to staff and residents we know, at once, it was where we wanted dad to be. The home is clean and fresh, the staff are wonderful, they care for the residents and their family. We feel like part of the family, we have a say in dad's care and the staff have worked so hard with the mental health team to get dad's medication right, to enable him to stay in the home. We can't praise the staff enough.

My father has been a resident since 2010. Everything about his care is very satisfactory.

The staff are very kind and helpful to both the resident and ourselves at a most difficult time. Making a big difference to us.

The staff at Nightingale are excellent. Taking such great care of the residents and caring for them with great respect, but also try to get to know the residents as individuals and try to make life fun. Thank you to you all.

My mother was in Nightingale care home for three years, during which time her dementia got slowly worse. My sister and I visited regularly and always found my mum up and dressed and as comfortable as she could be given her condition. Communication with the staff was good and they were all so patient and kind with her even when the dementia was very severe. She died in the home with her family and the caring staff of Nightingale around her. It was peaceful and dignified and professionally handled.

I am pleased with the care it is giving and the staff are very helpful they always seem happy everytime we visit.

Very well organised staff and nothing is too much trouble for them. Very pleasant and always smiling staff. Brilliant with my grandma and the other residents.

I'm really impressed that they have done this it totally took me by surprise. The whole staff are so caring and want the best of the residents.

My mother stayed for two weeks Christmas/New Year. We were very warmly welcomed and showed around. All newly decorated looks very good. Beautiful bedroom very much hotel standard. Food was good home cooked. Excellent, her clothes were washed and ironed beautifully. They smelled lovely. All the staff are wonderful. Very much to be proud of. A special mention for the mental health nurse. The Best! I could go on, but thank you so much.
