Having cared for mum at home and showed care with my sister it came to a time that because of her blindness and dementia, we could no longer give her the care she needed. Since being in Nightingales Care Hone we are thankful for their help, care and friendliness of the staff. Mum is a poor eater and
the kitchen staff go out of their way to tempt her. Her accommodation is very good. This has helped us at a very trying time.

To begin with, my sister and I were disappointed not to get mum into another home. Mum has been in Nightingale Care Home about two months now and has been overwhelmed by the care and compassion given to mum. Her room is very homely and has all her own things in it. Not only are the staff good to mum
but have been very good to us during a difficult time. The kitchen staff have also made her good food as she is a very fussy eater.

My sister and I chose Nightingale for our father who has dementia/Alzheimers. He was cared for at home by us till he suffered a stroke. We visited the home to see what it was like and spoke to staff and residents we know, at once, it was where we wanted dad to be. The home is clean and fresh, the staff
are wonderful, they care for the residents and their family. We feel like part of the family, we have a say in dad's care and the staff have worked so hard with the mental health team to get dad's medication right, to enable him to stay in the home. We can't praise the staff enough.

The staff at Nightingale are excellent. Taking such great care of the residents and caring for them with great respect, but also try to get to know the residents as individuals and try to make life fun. Thank you to you all.

My mother was in Nightingale care home for three years, during which time her dementia got slowly worse. My sister and I visited regularly and always found my mum up and dressed and as comfortable as she could be given her condition. Communication with the staff was good and they were all so patient
and kind with her even when the dementia was very severe. She died in the home with her family and the caring staff of Nightingale around her. It was peaceful and dignified and professionally handled.

My dad suffers from Alzheimers/ Parkinson's disease. Over the past few months has been enjoying playing dominoes but recently has started "eating" them which has been a worry.
Today on my visit the activities co-ordinator decided to make him shortbread dominoes dad loves playing dominoes then when
bored he "ate" them.
What a fantastic idea they have come up with to enable him to carry on playing safely.
I'm really impressed that they have done this it totally took me by surprise. The whole staff are so caring and want the best of the residents.

My mother stayed for two weeks Christmas/New Year. We were very warmly welcomed and showed around. All newly decorated looks very good. Beautiful bedroom very much hotel standard. Food was good home cooked. Excellent, her clothes were washed and ironed beautifully. They smelled lovely. All the staff
are wonderful. Very much to be proud of. A special mention for the mental health nurse. The Best! I could go on, but thank you so much.

Friendly, open and honest staff. Make us all welcome and go the extra mile. Helped celebrate with my dad's wedding anniversary of 7 years, they provided his wife lunch and decorated a room. Welfare of the resident's is their primary concern, always consult a doctor when needed, keep us informed. Let
us know what dad needs, discuss care plane amendments. We visited 11 nursing homes and this was definitely the best and has lived up 100% to our expectations in all areas for the care we wanted.

The home was welcoming and friendly from the first moment of contact. The health of my husband has improved beyond belief he enjoys the food and ahs plenty of it and has made "friends" with the staff who deal with him in a professional and compassionate way. IF there are any serious health problems
the doctor is called promptly. The rooms are adequately furnished with en-suite bathrooms and the residents are able to have their own possessions and furniture there. Communication between the staff and relatives is also good.
