Mum has settled well. The staff are very helpful & patient & kind both to her & myself!
Mum enjoys the excellent choice of food provided.
Mum has dementia, so it is a little difficult to rate the activities as she can't remember if she has been to them.
I understand that recently the dom care staff have made extra efforts to take Mum to events as Mum does get a little bored, again this is mainly due to her condition & no longer being able to read or concentrate on things; however staff often tell me that she enjoyed a certain event.

Mum has a lovely downstairs apartment with a west facing bay window, she loves to sit in this on sunny afternoons & look at the garden.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We're very pleased to hear that Mum has settled in so well. You may be aware that we have an Admiral Nurse (they specialise in people living with dementia) that visits our village twice every month. If you'd like to meet with her, please let us know and we can put you in touch.

Overall Experience

My parents are both approaching 90 years of age and suffer from severe mobility difficulties. When it became clear they could no longer remain in their own home and required some kind of assisted living, I visited most,if not all, of the appropriate care homes in the local area, and,in my opinion, none were better than Richmond Northampton. From the first moment, we received nothing but helpful, considerate service and, whilst my parents found it difficult at first to make the adjustment, it is plain to see that they are content, well looked after and receiving the services they currently need. Whilst cost is always an issue, to find a home where both of them can be together in the same rooms is very difficult,so we feel the move has been well worth while. The relationship we have with the staff and management is excellent and I always find that any problems are resolved in an efficient and friendly way.

Overall Experience

As a friend of someone who lives in Richmond, I must say I am very impressed. The staff are always very helpful and can't do enough for you even as a visitor. The food is always outstanding. I have been to the restaurant a few times to eat. There is so much for the residents to do if they want. I am really pleased to how my friend had settled in and she herself is really pleased. Just walking in and around the grounds and meeting people with their genuine smile on their faces says it all for me. Everyone is relaxed and is home to them. I am just happy that my friend has found a lovely place to live and knowing that she will have the great care if she needs it. I really enjoyed the east meets West night and the do they had for the Queens 90th party. It just proves that nothing is a problem for Richmond and make memories for all family, friends and residents.

Overall Experience

My father became a resident in the care home after 4 happy years in the assisted living unit. He became increasingly unwell and following a stay in hospital he needed more care than could be given to him in the assisted living unit. The staff in the care home treated him with respect and dignity. In common with the staff of the assisted living unit they had endless patience and compassion and he seemed to relax and thrive under their care. Food was provided to suit his needs, it was plentiful and of good quality. He was encouraged to eat and drink frequently, treated as an individual and provided with soft foods as he had increasing difficulty swallowing. When it became evident that his condition was terminal the nursing staff did everything that they could to support us, his family as well as him, making his last days as comfortable as they possibly could. The surroundings at Richmond Care Home, as in the rest of the village, are very comfortable, clean and relaxed.

My uncle lived in the retirement village from July 2015. He became ill and required more care so moved into Richmond Village Care home. The care was simply wonderful. The staff were excellent from beginning to end and still care.

So caring and professional, fulfilling his every wish and supporting and caring for the family too. Nothing was too much trouble and could not have been better in any way. An incredible place filled with excellent care until the end of my uncles life in February 2016.
