My Aunt has been a resident since February 2025 when a stroke left her physically incapacitated and requiring 24 hour nursing care. All the staff are caring, kind and considerate. My aunt went from independent living to needing assistance with everything and Richmond have been very supportive of the change in her circumstances. She is always treated with dignity and respect. All the staff interact with her and have been very supportive in explaining everything to her and me. There is always someone to speak to if I have any concerns or worries. The facilities are excellent.

I would recommend Richmond to anyone who is having to look for care for a loved one.

Reply from Lucia Briant, Marketing Manager at Richmond Villages Northampton

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so pleased to hear how well your aunt has been supported during such a significant transition, and that you have felt reassured throughout. Providing a tailored continuum of care is what we're passionate about, so it's wonderful to know this has been reflected in your experience. Your recommendation means a great deal to us all.

My mother moved up into Meadows after having a fall in her flat (part of the independent flats within Richmond Northampton) All the staff wanted to know her routine, what she liked to eat, wear, etc. She was on a temporary care package, which was agreed to be reviewed after two weeks. The head of the care ward explained everything giving me confidence, but also knowing I could contact them anytime for updates on my mother's condition. Unfortunately my mother's health did not improve enough for her to return to independent living. The transfer into permanent residence on the Meadows was easy, again the head of care explained all the paper work. We, her family were encouraged to bring her personal things like family photo, furniture, and clothing. Again I was very grateful how all the different departments helped me to make it all happen. My mother is a high risk of falling resident, with all the pressure pads the care staff know when she is moving and may need assistance.

My Mum lived at Richmond for just under 2 years until she sadly passed away. From the moment Mum was shown round the home until she passed she and the family were treated with kindness, respect and understanding. The staff are a real asset from the sales team, to housekeeping, reception, maintenance and nursing, they all had time for Mum and made her feel like she was never a bother, despite some medical challenges.

I would recommend the home to anyone especially if you are nervous about placing your loved one in a home.

The care for mum during November 2025 has been, as always, exemplary. The carers are kind, patient and compassionate. They always attend to all her needs the best they can, make her comfortable and make sure she has food she likes, encouraging her to eat without forcing her, and always respecting her wishes. She is given all the time she needs, never rushed, and nothing is too much for them to do. They have done a super job keeping her clean and comfortable. This month she stopped wanting to eat for a couple of days because of her teeth. Luckily, they managed to remove them, clean them and put them back in, all whilst maintaining her dignity and calm, so she did not get anxious or stressed. She has had all her needs met and is happy and content. The whole team looking after her could not have cared for her in a better way or shown any more kindness, and patience. Every day they work with dedication and professionalism and mum could not be happier and more comfortable.

My husband has been resident on the nursing care floor at Richmond for some 3 years and throughout that time his care has been excellent and consistently so. As his needs changed his care has been adapted accordingly to meet those needs. The staff keep me updated and liaise with me regarding his care and someone is always available to speak to me if I have my worries or concerns. He is always treated with kindness, dignity and respect by all the wonderful staff and this is extended to myself which always makes visiting a real pleasure. The home and the facilities provided are excellent as are all the amazing staff that contribute to making it so.

The experience from looking round to my nan admission from hospital has been exceptional.
At a time that is extremely difficult as a family the team have been understanding, kind and sensitive.

My Nan is aged 101 and has had a very tough time after a fall and month in hospital. The whole team have been compassionate and friendly and made my nan welcome and feel cared for. The Manager has been approachable and very professional. This is how care should be. Thank you all so much.

Excellent support for my Dad while he was there for 2 weeks recovering from a hospital stay. Staff were all friendly, thoughtful and so attentive. Dad raved about the food and - rather unusually - cleaned every plate for a fortnight! There were only 2 staff for the wing at night which meant quite a wait sometimes if more than 2 residents' buzzers went off, and the staff changeover into evening was very evident in the amount of contact that was possible. The home itself was spotless and kept at a reallly good temperature for older people who feel the cold. Everyone from the top management, the care staff and assistants and support staff genuinely seem to love their jobs and were all caring and thoughtful. My family wouldn't hesitate to recommend Richmond Villages.

Excellent accommodation and staff are always polite and helpful. If there are any issues with my mother I feel that I can speak to any member of the team and they will be taken forward. The nurses are very attentive and ensure mum is comfortable at all times.

I would like to personally thank the manager and one other staff member for their support in looking after mum.

My dad has been living at Richmond Village since 2016 and moved to the care floor in 2018. The care floor manager, nurses and carers are all very kind and caring, and always do their best to make my dad as comfortable as possible. Dad has extensive medical needs but he is cared for with kindness, understanding and compassion by all of the staff. I would thoroughly recommend Richmond Northampton.

My mother had always insisted she would never go into a care home but eventually conceded that at age 100, perhaps it would be wise. She then changed her mind again and didn't want to stay for the trial week at Grange Park we had arranged. However. we persuaded her to stay and by the end of the week she had been so welcomed, looked after and entertained that she admitted that she was really looking forward to moving into an apartment.

My parents moved to Assisted Living at Richmond Village eight years ago. Richmond Northampton is a beautiful site with spacious gardens and a marvellous restaurant. There are lots of activities for residents. The domiciliary care team are outstanding and well-managed.

After my mother had a fall, we were able to transfer her to the care floor. The nursing team are very professional. I am confident that she is in a safe place under the watchful eye of the health staff. Generally speaking, everyone with high needs is looked after exceptionally well.

The 'village' and gardens provide a lovely environment in which you can live an unfettered life. The staff are friendly, caring and have a positive attitude for one’s welfare. The rooms and their facilities are superb and maintained very well. The 'coffee shop' provides a talking and meeting place. Main meals are served communally and provide another socialising occasion. My experience during my three days was really excellent; most enjoyable and I felt I had been amongst friends. Would thoroughly recommend.

We are so pleased that we managed to get Mum into Richmond's care home for what turned out to be the last six months of her life. The staff at Richmond Villages showed great kindness and compassion to Mum and ourselves in her final days. The care was exceptional, and following her passing, we can at least take some comfort in the fact that we did our absolute best for her in securing her a place at Richmond Villages. Our mother was quite shy and didn’t find it easy to interact with anyone that wasn’t family; however, many of the staff formed bonds with her and regularly got her to smile and giggle whilst looking after her. Myself and my two sisters would all highly recommend this care home.

My mum and stepdad moved into a respite apartment this week while we are waiting for the purchase of their own apartment to complete.
The whole team have been fantastic with the whole family, and have done all they can to make the transition as smooth as possible.

It's still early days, but I'm sure once they have time to settle in and enjoy the facilities that they will both really benefit from all Richmond Villages Northampton Care Home has to offer!

My mother has been a resident at Richmond for 18 months now and her condition is such that we are constantly worrying how long she has left. She has deteriorated further over the last 6 months, and the team on the care floor are so kind and considerate of her needs and mine.
Richmond now gives relatives access to the care plan, minute by minute, via the online, live; Relatives Gateway, which is brilliant for me as I can see daily what is happening with Mum, and brilliant for the staff as it frees them up from having to take so many calls. They can concentrate on the care they give, not talking about it.

I feel satisfied and safe in the knowledge that my mum, the most precious person to me, is being cared for to a high standard in difficult circumstances. Top marks to Richmond Care Village, Northampton. - Thank you.

My mother, who has been at Richmond since 2013 and has lived in the Meadows since 2015, continues to receive care and attention of the highest order. I cannot overstate just how much it means to me, as a family member, especially as my wife has her own health challenges. The staff at Richmond enable me to focus on her needs in the certain knowledge that Mother is getting everything she needs and more. Particularly, communication is excellent and I always know if there is the slightest problem/issue which can then be dealt with in a timely fashion. I honestly believe that there is nowhere that my mother would receive better care. The staff's commitment to continuing excellence is to be commended.

My wife, aged 86, has been resident in the Richmond Villages for four years after I could not provide the 24/7 care she needed.
She is a difficult patient, is unlikely to become involved in activities and requires assistance with eating and drinking, as well as, also going to the toilet.
She is requiring 24/7 care.
It is with deep gratitude and I would like to place on record the five-star care my wife receives from the care home manager, who runs an open-door office, the clinical lead nurse and her team of highly qualified nurses. Also the wonderful team of carers who truly care for my wife like a member of their family.
Despite my wife's, often difficult, attitude she is treated retaining her dignity at all times
The cleanliness standards re: laundry, bedding and her private suite provide her with an environment like a five-star hotel.

The above provides me and the family with great confidence, she is indeed in the right place at the right time in her life.
