The Shrubbery

What a great afternoon spent with Uncle Ron and all at The Shrubbery Summer Extravaganza today. The weather couldn't possibly have been any better allowing us all to sit in the relaxing garden enjoying the entertainment and games. Many thanks to all the staff for the lovely food and drinks and fun atmosphere you all created. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the love and care that you show and provide for Uncle Ron and all the residents. It is very much appreciated by us and, I'm sure, the other families of your residents too.

My father has now stayed at the shrubbery on two occasions for respite care (oct '25 and April '26). On both occasions all the staff made him most welcome. They were all very friendly, kind, welcoming & attentive to the residents . There was a good choice of food, snacks and drinks, and regular activities and entertainment . Lovely gardens and outside seating when it's warm enough to sit out.It has a very pleasant homely feel to it, clean and tidy. My father seemed very happy there. Would definitely recommend.

Since dad has been moved to The Shrubbery, he has been very happy. His overall health has improved immensly, his speech is better, awareness of surroundings and interaction has been amazing. The staff are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble and the interaction with their residents is 2nd to none. I cannot single out anyone in particular as they are all so caring and its like a family.

Exceptional care provided by all staff from management to maintenance. Residents receive care and attention when needed to a very high level. Warm and friendly atmosphere at all times. Excellent selection of activities and entertainment. On sight facilities are excellent. 5 star home.

If The Shrubbery was a hotel, it would be a luxury, five-star hotel!

Once I could no longer care for my loved one I had to find somewhere I trusted to do it for me. I have been very impressed by the care given and general day to day overall attention given. I can visit anytime and find this useful as every time I call in I always receive a warm welcome and find my loved one in good humour.I would recommend this care home to anyone in need of it's services.

I am always welcomed at the home. The carers are always accommodating & caring & compassionate. They are educated for my mums complex needs. Manager is a star at knowing her residents & health care plans to keep family updated. The food is a very high standard with family members encouraged to eat with their loved ones. Office staff are fabulous. A very pleasurable home for my mum to be taken care of

We visited the Shrubbery today to see our friend, every time we visit we are always greeted with a smile, the Shrubbery has a really homely feeling. The staff are always around to offer support. The entrainment laid on by the staff is fantastic always engaging. You come away feeling your loved is really bring cared for. Thank you

So happy the Shrubbery had space to take my Mum as I had always heard good reports of this care home. They visited her in the hospital and we made arrangements for her to move to the home. The food is good. They provide lots of entertainment and things for the residents to do. She has her own bedroom and toilet and sink and they have been redecorating the building. All the staff are lovely and from day one they told us that we are family now and that's how it feels, like one big family.

The home and the carers are so kind and caring. They really look out for the residents and also their relatives. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. It is like a family. My mother has been there since February and is very happy there. We are so pleased that she can stay at The Shrubbery.

The Shrubbery care home has an excellent management and care staff team which gives the resident and their family the personal care and individual attention required to meet their needs. They treat us as family rather than clients and their warm and welcoming manner is evident in all of their interactions with us. We are so grateful and lucky to have the peace of mind that our mum is in excellent care and that she is surrounded by people who she can count on. A special thank you to the staff who has done so much to settle Mum and make us all feel proud to be part of the Shrubbery community.

Big thanks to the deputy manager, one of the many senior carers, and 'mum's girls' for looking after Mum so well right until her last days.

I cannot fault The Shrubbery in any way, the communication we get is brilliant and we are happy knowing that she is in safe loving hands.

We cannot thank everyone at The Shrubbery enough for everything they do for Dad and our family and would thoroughly recommend this facility to any other families that find themselves in the unfortunate situation of needing a care home for their beloved family.

My mum has lived here since April 2023, she has enjoyed taking part in numerous activities, the care and attention she receives is always fantastic. Back in December, she ended up in hospital, we were told she only had a couple of weeks left as her kidneys are failing, she was sent back to the care home for end-of-life care. Since she has gone home she has improved greatly, she is 95 so time is very precious, but she continues to enjoy life with the help and support that she receives on a daily basis. She receives a regular haircut and a manicure and pedicure. Her room is spotless and her clothes are changed every day. The food on offer is very nice with a couple of options every meal. This care home is brilliant!

The Shrubbery feels like home to my Mum. The staff are caring and considerate and they notice when the residents are not feeling their usual selves and will interact with them to help. There are regular activities for residents to join in with such as making mince pies, quizzes, fitness and sing-a-longs.

The manager and the team went above and beyond with the care and support for not only my mum but also her cat! Having complex medical issues, a terminal illness, Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, my mother spends a lot of time chatting to her cat and her cat is an important companion, so mum would have been really distressed if she’d had to be separated from her.

The team were so kind and supportive to us as a family during a very stressful time when my daughter and her newborn baby were both hospitalised with complications and we had complete peace of mind that mum was in the best possible care.

I stayed there for 6 months as I had a hip operation to do my rehab. All the staff and management were so kind and good that they all made me feel as if I was at home. They were so hopeful and kind and I was always looked after when I called for help. I had such a wonderful stay and enjoyed every minute I was there. If I was to go back for some other help I would be really willing to go back if I had the chance as I miss everyone over there. Lots of love.
