My mother lived at Broadlands for several years after becoming too frail and confused to live independently. COVID was still a problem when she first moved in so there were stringent procedures in place to protect residents. We did not therefore experience the full Broadlands family atmosphere...
My mother lived at Broadlands for several years after becoming too frail and confused to live independently. COVID was still a problem when she first moved in so there were stringent procedures in place to protect residents. We did not therefore experience the full Broadlands family atmosphere until later on but in spite of the restrictions, the wonderful staff at Broadlands made us feel very welcome and it was obvious that mum was being well cared for. We loved the videos of Christmas celebrations with staff dressed up and extra presents given to every resident. After COVID restrictions were lifted, my brother and I became part of the family and saw the kindness and care in interactions between staff and residents. Safeguarding procedures were rigorous whilst allowing residents freedom to feel like individuals in their own home. Whilst this is not a clinical purpose built home with all the facilities, it is always very clean and homely, meals are appetising and the staff truly care.
