The care and facilities at Eastwood House are excellent. Our mother felt at home and very happy there. This was made possible mainly by the staff/carers, who were very friendly and professional.
The food is homemade, and our mother often made comments about how much she enjoyed it, especially the
fry-up on a Saturday morning.
Her room was bright and spacious with an ensuite, and it's nice and clean.
I would highly recommend Eastwood House.

My father had been in Eastwood House for two and a half years and in this time he was looked after with dignity and love. All the staff, without exception, cared for my father as if he was their own.
I would heartfeltly recommend this home to anyone.

All the staff have been very friendly and welcoming. My Father has been looked after to a high standard which has enabled us to carry on with life without worrying about his welfare. We have always been contacted when he was not well. The entertainment was always good and he enjoyed the music.

When my father first went into Eastwood House residential care home it was lovely, good food, lovely carers and staff, well run, but for the last few months, the standards have dropped. The laundry care is terrible, always things going missing, but in the past week or two a new cook/chef has started
work there and the food is appalling. My father was given pasta and mashed potato, hardly anything to choose for a change. I didn't call chicken nuggets or beef burgers a suitable food for old people, especially with dietary needs. The carers, however, are lovely.

My father has been in Eastwood House residential home for 15 months and me and the rest of our family initially were pleased with all aspects of his care, but of recent months, I feel things have gone downhill, especially regarding clothes washing. A lot of Dad's clothes have disappeared or been ruined
in a 'too hot' wash and since last Christmas, it has got worse. At least 12 pairs of diabetic socks completely disappeared, never to be seen again. New slippers and pyjamas had the same fate. The standard of food has been poor lately.

Really pleased with the care of my father. I can rest easy knowing he is safe and well cared for.
There is only one point I continually have trouble with and that the washing of clothes. I have bought numerous pairs of socks and they have all disappeared. Several pairs of Pj's with half missing.
All
have been named so where are they?
No other worries at all.

Very satisfied with the care of my mum. She is looked after and supported. More activities would be good to stimulate but all in all, she is safe and I feel assured that she is looked after and respected.

Eastwood House is very clean and well maintained.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are hygienic, bright and tidy, the bedding and towels are changed regularly.
Most of the staff appear genuinely to care about their charges, one particular member of staff is extremely caring and very kind to residents and
visitors.
The management is good and I am updated regularly about issues or problems with my Aunt who has been at the home for 3 years. I can't comment on the food as my Aunt can't remember what she has eaten but there always appears to be fruit, drinks and biscuits available in the main living room should they be required.
My only criticism is that there aren't enough staff on duty at any one time. Sometimes there are several residents who need to be taken to the toilet at the same time and are unable to go unaided.
They have to wait and this can be distressing for them. I understand that Eastwood House is a business and therefore needs to make a profit, but my Aunt, who is completely self-funding having sold her home pays £2580 every four weeks. The other occupants must be paying a similar amount. Surely, at least one more full-time member of staff could be afforded?

Having visited the home on a regular basis, the food smells amazing. The home has a good aroma not a nursing home smell. The biggest drawback is lack of stimulation for residents.

Eastwood House has helped with the transition of my father moving from his own home to become a current resident of Eastwood House. We find the staff helpful and caring on day to day basis. Looking after the needs of my father aged 94.

I have found Eastwood House to be a friendly, welcoming care home, When visiting, I have been offered a tea/coffee on most occasions. It is always kept clean and my mothers needs have been catered for by caring staff. The food is prepared well, and the cook goes the extra mile to provide a balanced
diet for the residents. Clothing does go missing, even with name tags in after it has been to the laundry, this is the only fault I have found with Eastwood House.

Overall I believe the staff do a very good job and are very caring and helpful towards the residents. One criticism I have is that during the day when most of the residents are in the lounge, there is not always a carer with them. This leads to some of the residents becoming distressed when they need
the toilet or are just confused. On many occasions I have had to fetch a carer when I have been visiting, and I usually only visit twice a week.
