We were visiting a friend who has recently become resident here. I was very impressed with the friendly yet professional staff we came into contact with. We took our friend out for lunch and the process was very easy. We were offered tea and biscuits, and when we returned were able to spend more time with our friend. The other residents looked happy and settled and the communal areas were clean, tidy and looked well cared for.
Thank you for your kind words and positive feedback regarding our home . This is very much appreciated by all the team
My first visit. What an exceptional facility. Bright, airy and scrupulously clean. A fantastic variery of guided activities for the residents. The staff were fantastic; so helpful. All help and assistance was rendered with a smile by staff who seem happy in their work and truly engaged in seeking the best outcomes for residents and visitors alike. Our friend who has never been in care before is completely at home in his new environment and I fully expect his short stay to become permanent in the near future.
Many Thanks for your positive feedback , this very much appreciated .
I have visited many care homes. This was the best by far. There was a wonderful warmth between staff and residents. The staff were so professional, respectful and caring. They deserve every accolade. The home was clean and extremely pleasant.

Amazing staff who always go above and beyond to provide a happy, caring home for the residents. The activities they provide are interesting and varied, and the food is excellent. The home is always clean and tidy, and the furnishings are comfortable and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend Red Roofs when looking for excellent care in Newark.

Today's is my mums 90th birthday and staff have gone above and beyond to make her birthday special the love and warmth they show to the residents at red roofs is heartwarming. It feels like home from home the staff should be so proud of the amazing job they do .
Red Roofs continues to deliver and maintain outstanding care for its residents, while embracing its family and friends. Every time I visit this community, the high standards are there for all to be seen. I continue to be impressed and grateful that my husband is happy and well cared for.
Thank you Anne, we are pleased to hear you are happy with the care your Husband receives here at Red Roofs
The care given to the residents of Red Roofs is second to none. This doesn't seem like a care home but more like a large family. I didn't realise so many activities could take place with everyone including visitors encouraged to take part. The residents actually seem to enjoy themselves with so much to do on a daily basis. It's really good to see that residents are not sat in front of a TV all day which would be the easy option. Red Roofs certainly do not choose the easy option.
I will ensure your kind words are passed over to the team
Can thank the staff enough for the way they cared and helped me and my family through the last days that my mother spent at the home getting her back from hospital to trually care for her at end of life my mother really loved being part of that family
Thank you very much for your kind words! It was our pleasure to care for your mother and to share such a treasured time in her life. Please do not be a stranger, you and your family are always welcome here at red roofs.
My grandma loves living here. Thank you for all your hard work.the home is always clean and presentable. Along with a wide range of activities for the residents if the choose to join in.
Thank you very much for your kind words, we are pleased to hear that your grandma is enjoying being here with us.
My sister has been a resident for over year now, and once she settled into the routine would not be anywhere else. The care is exellent as is the whole residency as indicated with my response below to the services and staff. I know as a result of my visits to see her, how happy she is with the establishments and especially the kitchen service.
We are very grateful for your kind words and we are pleased to hear that your sister is getting on so well here at Red Roofs.
My mother has bee a resident at RR since November 23 and settled in very well into the care given by all outstanding staff and management, on walking into RR, there is always a friendly, polite, happy member of staff to greet you. The accommodation is impressive both in public areas, and my mothers room, filled with her photos + memories, and is extremely clean, and decorated throughout. There are always lots of activities for mum to get involved with, plus first class food provided daily.
We are grateful for the care provided by Red Roofs Residential Care Home; the staff are genuinely kind, patient and attentive, and they go above and beyond to make sure my brother's needs are met. The home is clean, warm and welcoming, and my brother is treated with respect and dignity. Communication with our family is excellent, giving us peace of mind and confidence he is being cared for. We are thankful for all that the staff do and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
We are so pleased that Your brother is happy here at Red Roofs and we are very grateful for your kind feedback.
Lovely care home, you are made to feel welcome every time you visit. The staff, housekeepers, kitchen staff all of them are really lovely. My mum has really been looked after from day one, never wanting for anything it's like home from home, nothing to much trouble, there's always plenty to do if you want to, trips out, plenty of entertainment, the care is second to none. The staff go above and beyond to help answer any questions anytime, always somebody to help if you need them, food really good. Plenty of tea and treats, lovely.
Mum has been a permanent resident at Red Roofs now for nine months. I can confirm that I still feel as strongly about this care home as I did originally. The management, care staff, through to the kitchen, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance are exceptional! It's like a well oiled machine that ticks over meticulously. Cleanliness is 100%, the food superb and the activities are varied and well supported. More importantly though the personal, emotional and individual care each & every resident receives is astonishing. My mum (for religious reasons) doesn't participate in some celebrations, yet, the staff are respectfully give her dignity and go above & beyond to give her options so Mum never feels left out or marginalised. She is shown nothing but respect. The senior activity organiser is always looking for things mum can do if things conflict with her beliefs. Even though old age brings about difficulties & frustration, the staff here (especially the management) make every day a positive one! I have complete peace of mind that mum's in the best of hands. Well done Red Roofs! Keep up the good work!
Red Roofs is a wonderful warm and caring home. All the staff from the cleaners + laundry staff through to the carers + management. Oh + I must forget the kitchen staff! are all extremely dedicated. Everyone is extremely kind + approachable + always there to help if needed. The activities are varied and well run by the team of dedicated staff who always keep the residents entertained. I would recommend Red Roofs to others in need of care.
I've always experienced excellent care for my Aunt. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always attentive, helpful and respectful, including for the dignity, health and safety of my Aunt. I can't praise the management and staff too highly.
Thank you for those kind words. I am so pleased that your Auntie is enjoying the care that we are blessed to be able to provide.
Lovely welcoming atmosphere, mum looked very well cared for, had a shower and hair done on that morning, which she has regular. Room had been cleared and looked lovely.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We as a team appreciate this.
As soon as you walk through the door the warmth you receive is friendly staff seam nice to everyone clean, friendly rooms always nice and clean and warm food really good wouldn't have my relative any where else.
I can't pinpoint dates, but we are more than satisfied with mum's care (consistency) at Red Roofs. Whenever we visit or take mum out, especially, extra care has been put into make mum look nice. There is often something happening, games, singing etc. All the carers seem to go above and beyond to make it home.
Everyone at Red Roofs is always very friendly and welcoming! It's always great to visit. My grandma has a lovely room. She has been able to decorate with her own photos and ornaments which has really made it feel like home.
Thank you for those kind words. I so pleased that your grandma is enjoying the care that we are blessed to be able to provide.

Meet the Team (2)

I have worked at Red Roofs Residential Care home since 1988; first as a cook, then a care assistant and then as a senior carer before qualifying as registered manager in 2004. I was the deputy manager for 18 years prior to becoming registered manager in 2016 and I am in my 33rd year of service.
I am passionate about my role at Red Roofs and thrilled to be part of the Red Homes Healthcare team. Since 2016, Red Roofs has enjoyed the status as a 5-star care home under the Notts County Council ratings model. This is an achievement we are very proud of and keen to maintain.
I work with a wonderful team at Red Roofs and many staff have worked alongside me at Red Roofs for several years. We all work very closely together to ensure that the Red Roofs community continues to represent caring and compassionate care within the beautiful care setting here in Newark.

I began my career at Newark Hospital back in 2002 as a Healthcare Assistant and working across many wards. After a short but enjoyable period at the hospital, I decided I wanted to work within care and then up came a role at Red Rose Care Community in 2004. I was there for 13 years.
I have over 20 years of experience in the care sector and feel I can really add to the team. I have adored all of my roles including being a care assistant, senior care assistant and a care quality manager. I have been given a fantastic opportunity to be the new cover deputy manager for Red Roofs during Joanne’s maternity leave.
I am very passionate about my work and who I look after. I have always believed in delivering high quality person-centred care and making our residents lives more meaningful.
