I have been really happy with the care my family member has received. Staff are always bright, helpful and attentive. We have regularly wanted to visit outside usual hours, and this has been made possible by staff being so helpful.

Residents have wide-ranging needs, and the approach of staff has always been attentive and caring, in sometimes, challenging times.

We are glad that you have been made to feel welcome, and we will continue to work on the points raised, which we can improve upon.

My mother-in-law has been resident at The Hazelford for several years and we have always felt that the home has provided a safe and caring environment for her. The staff I have seen with her are caring and respectful towards her whilst retaining a sense of humour. The home and its staff have been particularly good at encouraging and developing her mobility which was very poor when she first became resident. The Hazelford is an old repurposed building - not always easy to maintain but it is good to see continuing investment.

Reply from Shaun Rodgers, Manager at The Hazelford Residential Home

Thanks for your kind words. I will continue to encourage investment and will strive for excellence.

I have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The only thing I'd change would be a refurbishment of the rooms.

Staff are always friendly and attentive. Mum has built some great relationships with them. An old building that could do with a refresh but the team are doing a great job of getting to grips with the place.

The staff at Hazelford cannot be faulted. They are the kindest, most caring people for which we are eternally grateful. They are so kind and considerate to our mum who has been there for nearly 4 years. We are always made to feel very welcome whenever we visit. We are regularly updated with anything to do with Mum or the home. Please just continue to do what you do in the way that you do it as Mum seems very happy and content.

Thank you again to all of you.

Review from K S (Husband of Resident) published on 12 October 2023 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My wife has been a resident for six years and have seen two ownership changes, several manager and multiple staff/carer changes. Despite this Hazelford has progressed, modernised, reorganised, and improved standards. All staff are warm, welcoming, and friendly, regularly updating me in relation to the care, welfare, wants, and needs of my wife. I'm highly satisfied with the standard and level of care my wife receives and how all staff interact with her.

Reply from Shaun Rodgers, Manager at The Hazelford Residential Home

Since moving to Hazelford Care Home, my mum has always been treated with respect and compassion. All staff go above and beyond. They are an excellent team, communicating well and always with a welcoming smile. I cannot fault the care given to my mother and am reassured to know she is in safe hands. I fully recommend Hazelford to anyone seeking a supportive and safe environment.

I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful, also caring to the residents.
They give us all relevant information on the resident - e.g. health, problems with eating (refusing food) and what they have given them to rectify this (more pudding or toast), whatever they want.

I have had to visit a few care homes with family and this is the best I've ever been to.

Excellent experience, caring, supportive, always available and helpful.
Recently our family had a cause for concern, my father's failing health - a need for rapid response and the professional, caring support and knowledge was so outstanding.
Our family would love to thank all involved.

We really appreciate the environment.

I am very pleased with the care provided, my grandad is treated with dignity and respect, he has help and encouragement when needed, whilst maintaining his independence. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the facilities are wonderful, we are able to personalise his bedroom however we like! The home always looks/smells clean also; food and drink is always offered and tastes lovely! All in all 10/10, excellent.

My grandma lived here for nearly four years before her recent passing. The home has gone through a number of changes during the time but for the whole period, I couldn’t recommend it more highly. It’s a real home from home. The compassion the staff have for their residents and their well-being is heartwarming. The care is second to none.
