Mum has been very well cared for in the first two weeks she has been in the Old Vicarage. The rooms are clean and comfortable, residents are encouraged to personalise their room. All the staff have been friendly and approachable.

Mum has even been out in the garden playing a game - unheard of for the last five years!

Staff very good and obliging to all residents. Comfortable but furnishings dated, food to a good standard. Could do with brightening up in the lounges etc, the only downside is no inside smoking area for residents. They have to go outside in nothing more than a bus shelter.

My father entered the home on 13/11/18 in failing physical and mental state at the age of 91. He was subsequently diagnosed with chronic renal failure and died on 17/12/18. All staff were very professional, kind and caring both to my father and family members who visit. Nothing was too much trouble from start to end.

Our mother has been welcomed by the staff with warmth, compassion and care. Her needs are fully met and we cannot fault the service provided by the Old Vicarage. A cosy room, delicious, freshly prepared meals and daily attention to what mum needs to keep her safe and content.
The other residents provide her with good company and we look forward to her becoming increasingly involved with the activities organised by the home.

She has already been encouraged to join in by the staff and is responding well.

Since our Mum came to the Old Vicarage one month ago, the difference in her is remarkable and this is through the excellent caring and understanding of the staff at the Old Vicarage. Her room, which is very important to our Mum is everything we could wish for her. I would also add that the staff encourage her to participate in activities which mum attends.

My auntie was only in for a few days but the change in her mood was unbelievable. She was outgoing, chatting to members of staff and residents, she joined in with the entertainment in the home and she encouraged residents to have a sing-along, it was lovely to see a smile on her face and she seemed less confused.

The Old Vicarage Care Home did my mum proud today when they celebrated her 96th birthday. My mum loves to have a fuss made of her and they know this, it so pleased her. They had dressed her in the birthday outfit that I had given which they know pleased me. They offered tea and cakes to her visitors, which pleased them. My only regret is that I live too far away and was not able to join them all. Thank you to all the staff.

The staff at the home are very friendly and welcoming. The food is homemade and excellent.

My mum was reluctant about going in to a care home for respite but settle in straight away and has nothing but praise for the staff.

The care, both physical but also mental, that the home gave to my grandmother was outstanding. The love and genuine feelings they showed both for Grandma and my family was second to none.

Seeing them support Grandma at the end of her life has left me eternally grateful to all the staff at The Old Vicarage Care Home. Thank you!

My mum was a resident during the final months of her life. She had a number of health issues including cancer. She had been housed with family until May 2017 when she was no longer able to receive the full-time care she needed. The Old Vicarage was all wonderful to her, so much so that she believed she was at home with lots of carers around. Treated with dignity and respect.

With great reservation, Mum was admitted to the Old Vicarage Care Home in November but the care she got from the management and all the staff was second to none. She enjoyed all aspects of the home including food, entertainment and trips out. She was cared for with dignity which was very important as well as having fun with other residents and staff. That's why I still come to the Old Vicarage Care Home as a volunteer and still enjoy it.

A home from home environment, operated by professional and caring staff.
Excellent housekeeping and spotlessly clean. Choice and quality of food are excellent. General amenities are good and being able to sit out in the garden is very welcome.
My mother in law looks forward to Line Dancing on Monday evenings and church on Sundays and Wednesdays.

I attended a resident meeting and volunteered to purchase a Karaoke Machine and safe darts and to be involved in organising a boat trip. She seems to be having problems losing underwear which goes to laundry.

The staff, food and care my father gets is excellent. The only minor issue is my father loves fresh flowers! We bring them every fortnight but sometimes find the old dead flowers are still there, just think that they could be removed when cleaning the room!
