Barnby Court Care Home

My mother-in-law went to Barnby Court Care Home on 15th December 2016 she had been moved from another home and when we arrived at Barnby Court they had an emergency to cope with but we were made extremely welcome and dealt with very well. Previously I had been to look at the home and the manager answered every question in detail and I was impressed immediately. The Christmas party was excellent with all the staff joining in and making the residents day very enjoyable. Since leaving there my mother-in-law has found a new lease of life and loves it. This is due to the excellent standard of care provided by all the staff. Wonderful.

Always made very welcome when visiting. Nice, friendly atmosphere and residents seem very happy and comfortable.

I couldn't be happier with Barnby Court Care Home. There is always someone to talk to and the staff are always there to help me. The food is delicious and I am most comfortable here. I feel at home here.

I am very happy that my mum is in Barnby Moor Care Home. I know that she is in the care of lovely staff who put my mum's best interests first. The home is always friendly, a home from home atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. The food always looks delicious and mum's room is very comfortable. I cannot imagine my mum being as happy anywhere else.

All the staff are very friendly, caring and efficient. I am happy with my Aunt's care and progress. My aunt's personal care is usually outstanding.

My Mum moved to Barnby Court in December the staff have been very nice and Mum has fit in well. The staff seem to take good care of the residents. My Mum enjoys the food and activities.

From day one the management and staff have been absolutely fantastic, both with the client and I. On first arriving the client was made to feel welcome and safe overnight, he settled very quickly indeed. I wouldn't have any queries about using the care home for any of my family if needed.

The staff at Barnby Court Care Home are excellent, always friendly and willing to answer any questions. I also find them empathetic towards clients and family. Since Mum became worse in her condition, the staff have shown great care for her, providing special equipment for her.

Mum is happy and well looked after. The home is clean and comfortable and the staff are professional, friendly and helpful.

My mum was placed here as an emergency respite by social services. The care home is in need of updating and decorating and the carpets need replacing. The staff are friendly and do their best but they seem to be short staffed for the amount of residents. All the bathrooms need updating. The food served looks good, all home made even though mums seemed a little cold. The two conservatories have a pleasant outlook onto the garden but unfortunately don't seem to be used much. Mum sleeps most of the time so it is difficult to get a clear picture of the care she receives but on every visit she has been clean and comfortable.

A very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, the staff are very helpful and seem to genuinely care for the residents. My friend who is a resident, says the food is very good and there is always a good choice available. The only negative aspect is the car park, it's very small and soon gets full up. But this doesn't affect the residents only their visitors.

I find the staff at Barnby Court very helpful and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble for them and if I ever end up in a care home it would be Barnby Court I can't praise it high enough.

I am very impressed with the caring and compassionate way in which our friend has been looked after over the last three months and also for another period of time at the end of last year. I would like to commend and thank everyone.

I find Barnby Court a pleasant home to visit my mother the staff are polite and helpful.

On visiting my mum since she's been a resident in the above home, I've observed certain things such as: When asked about mum e.g medication, Dr visits or mums request to see dentist etc etc, I'm met with the same reply which is "I'll check, I wasn't in yesterday" or "I'm not sure I'll find out" although these issues have been addressed with the manager and hoping for a mutual result as I know it is difficult with the carer to resident ratio.

I am very happy with the service that I am having at Barnby Court, the staff are willing to help with anything you require any help whether it be big or small and everyone is so friendly and they wouldn't mind doing anything to make you feel at ease.

Barnby Court has a cosy, non institutional and homely atmosphere. The residents have complex and very different needs which the staff manage very well. Without exception they are calm, caring, patient firm but fair, very professional. Also they are compassionate and human. I have seen a lots of hugs. I particularly like that there are 4 different areas, the residents do not all sit in a circle, not watching the television. I would like to see more organised activities. It may be that these take place when I'm not visiting. I realise that many would not engage (mum) but feel that the opportunity should exist.

When I first came here I was worried but then I woke up and realised how comfortable I am here. I'm happy I really am. When my husband passed away I had to take care of myself but I'm very comfortable here. I made mistakes at home. It's beautiful I don't have to do all the washing. At first I wondered what I was doing here. I honestly think it is a lovely place to live in.

Seems to be very organised, friendly and approachable staff. Excellent care given.

We are very happy with the care that mum receives. We appreciate the homely environment and the individual tailored are plans that we put in place. Thank you to all the staff and management for their care for mum.
