South Moor Lodge Care Home is centred around an old nineteenth century barn, situated within a two-acre landscaped site surrounded by countryside.

It has bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, mainly on the ground floor.

The team offer personal care for residents and also those living with dementia. Jasmine Healthcare acquired South Moor Lodge in March 2015.

My mum has only been at Southmoor Lodge for a few months, but in that time has had a few medical issues and 2 hospital admissions, but the staff have been good with Mum on her return.
We have found them to be helpful and caring and they do a great job under, sometimes difficult circumstances.
The
food is good and varied, the home is clean and tidy.
There are various daily activities for anyone who wants to partake, plus a visiting hairdresser, chiropodist, musicians and singers, which is a nice touch.
Overall we are happy with Mum's care. Thank you.

My mother has been in the care home for 12 months - family visit her every day - I come twice a week.
I feel she is being well cared for and staff generally offer full support when she finds things difficult. She often complains about the food (however, I cannot comment) - she hates the cold plates!
The entrance required improvement - visitors are required to stand out in the cold/wet. A refreshment area for visitors/residents would be beneficial - just a coffee machine?

A friendly care home in a lovely rural setting. Mum has a comfortable room overlooking the garden which is always clean and tidy. All the staff are welcoming, and there is a full programme of activities and events for residents. We are very happy with Mum’s care and hope she has many happy years at

Love the activities planned for the residents. Dad loved hearing the bagpipes played by the piper for Burns night. She also played a request for him. He was made up. These special touches make all the difference.

Mum has been a resident for 3 years and has been very happy at South Moor Lodge. She is well looked after and enjoys all the meals provided. The staff are very welcoming to visitors. Mum has had a few health scares over the past year. The staff listen and takes on board any worries that I have about
Mum's health and works closely with the local doctor's team to provide the correct health care. I bring one of Mum's old friends with me every week and she is also impressed with the care provided. The home also provides activities and entertainment throughout the year which Mum has enjoyed.

I cannot thank the staff at this care home enough, they are kind, caring and always attentive even when their resources at stretched. I always find it clean and well maintained. They meet my mum’s particular needs daily and she always looks well cared for. I visit most days so see a lot of the staff
who are so welcoming. The lady provides lovely activities and entertainment and the ‘pub’ is a huge success in the summer months. My only criticism is the entrance and having to sometimes wait a period of time before the extremely busy staff have chance to answer the door bell. However I can see from your mission statement that this is hoping to be addressed. I have another family member in the home and who has been a resident for approximately 3 years so was very happy for this to be my mum’s home too. Thank you to the manager and all the superb staff, you’re saints in my eyes.

It was decided to try out a variety of care homes before settling on this one. We liked this one best. I have settled in very well and my family are also exceedingly happy with the accommodation, catering etc. The home is comfortable and the staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I will

My dad has been a resident at South Moor for several years now. The home is just that, a home. The staff are warm and caring, the environment is bright, clean and welcoming. Quite a few of the staff have been there long term and continuity of care is good.

My mother has been at South Moor Lodge since October 2020. I feel she is loved and cared for there. My mother and I lived together but when I was unable to cope any longer South Moor Lodge was our choice and I'm grateful that my mother is there. The staff are approachable and supportive placing my mother
at the centre of their care, even to the extent of telling me off for giving her too much chocolate. Thank you, South Moor Lodge for your loving care.

Very happy with Mum's care. She has been at the home for over two years now and has always been well looked after. She, unfortunately, has not been well and is confined to bed at the moment, but the home is getting her situation reviewed. The staff do not just let matters slide. She has been kept clean
and free of pressure sores with regular repositioning. I get regular updates regarding her health and well-being. She likes all the staff, as do I. They are friendly and welcoming to visitors. The home is clean and tidy. The food supplied is very good and varied, she loved the cake baked specially for her birthday with candles. There are very good facilities and daily activities and entertainment provided.

Southmoor Lodge made my parents feel at home straight away - nothing is too much trouble. The staff work extremely hard and always have a smile on their faces. I would highly recommend this home - very clean and has a home-to-home feel, always made to feel welcome.

Real peace of mind, which is invaluable. Love the extra attention for Dad's birthday. The social media presence is so helpful, keeping us up to date with what's going on - particularly my siblings living abroad. A really well-run home and friendly atmosphere. I'm unaware of the financial aspect, so

I needed to find a care home for my mum, who is unable to continue living on her own. After speaking to South Moor Lodge, I was invited to look around the care home. All the staff seemed friendly. The room they had available was perfect for Mum, who then came a few days later for a day and stayed. She
has settled in well. We have nothing but praise for South More Lodge. All the staff are fantastic, the facilities are good, and the home is very clean and pleasant. We are happy Mum is being very well cared for in a lovely environment.

I was very pleased with the care my mum received at Sout Moor Lodge during her week's respite care recently. Her room was lovely, even with fresh tulips, and the staff were very attentive. The manager was welcoming, and nothing too much trouble. There is a calm, bright and comfortable atmosphere at

My mother seems to have a good social life and activities with staff and some fellow residents. It is hard to judge when dementia is involved, but she seems happy, and she has good relationships with very friendly staff who are always smiling and having a joke with her.
She is well looked after with
health and hygiene, able to bathe safely in a bath with a hoist chair. Throughout the winter, it has always been warm inside. She has her hair done regularly and has access to a podiatrist when needed. There is excellent service from the local GP medical centre.
She eats well and mostly enjoys her food.
Visiting is very welcome at all times except meal times. When Mom's 'baby brother' (in his 90s) visited, it was such a joyful occasion, and we were provided with tea, coffee and cakes in the conservatory, where it was quiet and relaxed for them to reminisce and catch up on family news.
Mom's ensuite room is pleasant and opens up into a secure garden with a bench just outside if she wants to sit out.

I have received good care and attention from dedicated staff, much appreciated during my recovery from a major accident.
The exercises and quizzes kept me stimulated as my movement was restricted.
I enjoyed the home-cooked food.

Lisa McAnulty

Job Title: Home Manager

South Moor Lodge is led by its experienced manager, Lisa McAnulty, who supports our qualified team of care, kitchen and housekeeping staff.


Lisa joined South Moor Lodge in August 2018, having worked within the elderly care sector for 25 years. After beginning her vocation in care, as a care assistant, Lisa has worked her way up the ladder. Lisa and her team, work tirelessly to ensure that all our residents are supported, and cared for to a high standard, whilst promoting their dignity at all times.


Lisa passionately believes that we are invited to work in our residents’ home, and the empowerment of their choices, rights, independence, are fundamental to her approach to care.
