Set in the idyllic countryside of Lambley, Nottingham and close to the award-winning Gedling Country park, Nottingham Care village has undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment program.

The home, with state of the art decor, has 58 en-suite luxury bedrooms. There are several spacious lounges and smaller dining areas where nutritious meals are provided to suit residents individual tastes.

I visited a friend in Nottingham Care Village and had a very warm welcome by management and staff, offering drinks and cake before I sat down.
A lovely clean, fresh, homely home.
Staff were exercising with residents sitting in armchairs and when an individual asked for help, the carers dealt with
the request immediately.
A lovely secure place to live.

Very satisfied with care given to my mother in law. Staff extremely kind and professional. The only issue is lack of a receptionist, so sometimes the wait outside is long until someone buzzes to let you in.

Within days of our mother staying at the Nottingham Care Village we noticed the anxious worried look had disappeared from her face. She began to put on weight and generally just seemed to be more relaxed. Her room is lovely with a bright open aspect and wonderful decor. The care village has an extensive
garden area with seats to sit in the sunshine and on cooler days a warm and inviting conservatory area. I have been told that my mother has been enjoying the meals and she was very excited to be going on a boat trip which the activities co-ordinator had organised.
Needless to say now that our mother is receiving the care she so dearly needed it has taken a huge weight off our shoulders. We can go and take her out for the day and not worry about leaving her on her own any longer as there is always a group of residents for her to sit and chat with as we finish our cup of tea with her and take our leave. Well done to all the staff and thank you so much from all of our family.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff for the great care my dad received last week. Dad has complex needs and these were all met with grace and dignity. He really enjoyed his time there and informs me he would very much like to return. I want all staff to know how much I appreciated all their hard work
and commitment.
If you have a loved one who needs care I would highly recommend Nottingham Care Village.

Preeminent in its attributes is the professionalism of all the staff Residents are treated with dignity and respect at all times. The care staff enjoy the confidence of the residents for their expertise and compassion. A wide choice of top quality food is prepared --although the cooks are hampered by
the lack of a grill in the kitchen. Our individual rooms are havens of peace and tranquillity _but help 24/7 is only a buzzer call away.-furnishing is of high quality and easily accessible but most important of all a good night's sleep is guaranteed in the oh so lovely large bed. Activity provision is poor -there are simply insufficient residents to put on a programme and the coordinator is deployed as a career. I have also commented that value for money is satisfactory this is a business with shareholders interested in the return on capital investment . Until a full year's accounts are filed it is impossible to say whether the value for money Is fair or not.

My mother was one of the first few residents. She had slight dementia and had been neglecting herself prior to admission. She chose a lovely room and enjoyed the care and attention she received. She particularly enjoyed the freshly prepared food. Soon after her taking up residence she became terminally
ill with cancer and we could not have asked for better care. In her last weeks, the staff supported us as well as my mother and mum felt safe there.
One aspect of the home that we did find a chore and have communicated regarding this to the management, is the electric gate at the end of the drive. To have to get out of the car to use the intercom and then return to the car to drive in was time-consuming and irritating, particularly in the rain. That said Nottingham Care Village was a haven for my mother at her time of greatest need.

All the staff are warm, welcoming and will always go out of their way to please, they seem to genuinely care about my grandparents and always take time out to play games with my grandma to help her dementia, the facilities modern, clean and hygienic with a conservatory, reading room, communal room,
cinema room just to name a few. i would definitely recommend this care home.

This review is written from the basis of being a churchwarden, not a Vicar. By invitation, I first visited the Care Village at the Grand Opening in July, a splendid occasion, formally opened by Rt.Hon.Ken Clarke MP. The visit included an opportunity to tour the complex, looking at the facilities and
accommodation. Subsequently, I was invited and arranged for 27 older members of my church to attend a coffee/cake morning and again appraise the facilities. My visits have continued on a weekly basis to spend time with one of the residents.
Therefore, my views are expressed on the basis of being a visitor. The decor in the bedrooms is in excellent order, with complementing furniture, curtains etc. The ensuite facilities are ideal for elderly residents. The public areas are equally welcoming, including dayrooms, conservatory and outdoor seating. The quality of food is very high and the staff are extremely professional and welcoming. The whole ambience of the complex exudes quality and care.

My father-in-law has been in the Nottingham Care Village since it opened, we have found him to be settled and always speaks very highly of the care given to him. We the family have always found the staff to be friendly, polite and professional. They always inform us of any problems they may have with
my father-in-law as he's not the easiest person to care for.
We have found the home clean, tidy and always accommodating.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.822 for Nottingham Care Village is calculated as follows: ( (243 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 270 Ratings = 4.822
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nottingham Care Village is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
