Westwolds Care Centre

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Westwolds.

Mother in law has been in this care home for 2 and half years now. She is well looked after and cared for. She wants for nothing and has been settled right from he start. The staff are fantastic with the changes in her condition and adapt quickly to the changes in her needs. There is no staff turnover as it is such a lovely environment to work in so getting to know the staff is easy and the residents get consistency. Though my mother in law is unable to participate in activities, there are activities for the able residents. I would recommend this Care Home to anyone.

I would like to thank all the staff for looking after my mum on respite care, all the staff are friendly and very attentive, my mum was very reluctant to go into a care home but has said she would certainly go back to Westwolds.

My mother has been in this home for almost 4 years. She's happy and content and all her needs are met. I visit twice a week and my siblings visit other days. We always find the staff cheerful and helpful to both my mother and her visitors. It's clean, tidy and all residents seem happy and well cared for. Thoroughly recommend this home. It takes a lot of worry about your relatives knowing they're cared for and they're getting their medication at the correct times.

We were in a pretty urgent need for some care for my mum after my dad was admitted into hospital after being in ICU. This was a pretty tough time for us. We were assured that my mums care needs would be met. Most days we have collected my mum she has broken down a cried. After a few incidents we were told this might not be the place for her as they deal mainly with dementia patients. This is not what the website states and nor was it stated to us at the assesment The staff can be extremely rude and confrontational if you have an issue with care. Patuclarly one of the head care assistants Natalie. Some seem to be quite lazy and just seem to be happy to have most of the patients sat in the lounge to watch TV. On the occasions I visited my mum she was sat at the back of the TV room (she is registered blind). I dont have enough room to put any more, but seriously if you can avoid this place I would.

A very pleasant, warm and welcoming home. Fabulous friendly staff. Residents are well cared for in a safe environment! Lots of activities involving all residents including, crafts, baking and chair exercises. Trips to coffee shops and sometimes the pub. Plenty of good food choices and if not happy with them, the chef will be more than happy to make something else for them. All in all a good choice of home!

My uncle has been a resident at Westwolds for the last four years and in that time I can honestly say that his welfare and care has been second to none. The staff at the home are genuinely concerned for the residents' wellbeing and in all the times that I have been, (always unannounced) they are interacting with the residents - be it entertainment (although not with the Covid situation at present) chatting over coffee and cake or just generally being there for the ladies and gentlemen. My uncle settled in at the home more or less from the start and has often said how happy he is there - he has his own space when he wants to be on his own. He can join the other residents if he wants to and the staff are always willing to sit and chat with him if needed. If I have had any concerns or questions in the past the Manager has always been very helpful and she and her staff keep a very caring home.
