Overall Experience

My Mother, who had dementia, came to live here in 2009 aged 90 after one night's trial stay (having already rejected two other residential homes after one visit). She settled in quickly and told me she felt safe and had no worries living here (she had previously lived in her own home and become nervous and isolated). I found the staff to be very good, most of them caring and attentive to her needs , quickly achieving a rapport with her. She died in April 2015 and for the last 6 weeks was bedfast, not eating and barely drinking. We were very impressed with the care she received; although it was impossible for staff to be with her all the time, when they came to wash, change, turn her etc they were always kind, gentle and loving and we felt the care was as good as we could have given. My sister commented that the staff really did give her TLC (tender, loving care). Obviously a residential home has its drawbacks and especially if you are deaf and have dementia so cannot easily interact with other residents but as far as staff were concerned we felt our Mother was cared for very well.

Charles Sadler
Charles SadlerJob Title General ManagerJoined 2026

Family and people are extremely important to me, and I have worked in healthcare since 1998, initially with the NHS, before moving to Senior Management roles with various learning disability charities, and more recently, other large elderly care providers, both as a Senior General Manager and Director Level.

I relocated from Wokingham, Berkshire, with my wife and 3 children in 2022 and live in a small village on the outskirts of Lincoln.

People matter to me, whether it is the wonderful people we support in our home or the dedicated stars who support everyone so tirelessly in every department.

It's vital, first and foremost, to treat everyone as we want to be treated as I and staff realise this is somewhere we will all be in our later days.

Trusting us to support the most important people in your lives is your priority, and this is something we never forget

Our committed team in every department deserve their reputation, and you will struggle to find a more open and inclusive place for the most important people in all our lives to receive the care they richly deserve.

Whether on the pavement or in her professional life, Jo believes in running toward challenges rather than away from them.

A lifelong resident of North Nottinghamshire, she still calls her childhood home her base. After accompanying her mother through a significant illness until the end of her journey.

Jo emerged with a renewed perspective and a drive to ensure her professional life is dedicated to work that truly matters.

Now a mother, she is dedicated to modelling resilience and purpose.

When not at work, you’ll find Jo renovating her family’s 400-year-old farmhouse, or dreaming of Provence (with a jar of French cornichons close at hand).
