Beechville provides residential, dementia and short-stay care for up to 63 residents in a peaceful, purpose-designed home in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Once a Quaker home, Beechville has a long legacy of care and community. Today, it offers a safe, comfortable setting with en-suite bedrooms, cosy lounges, and a vibrant central coffee shop where residents, families and staff come together throughout the day.

Outdoors, the landscaped gardens include a courtyard with mature trees, bird feeders, raised beds, and a summer house gifted by a resident’s family. The space is used year-round for gardening, relaxing, and events such as barbecues and seasonal celebrations.

Meals are freshly prepared by an experienced head chef who also trains other MHA cooks. Menus are shaped by resident input and include hearty favourites, afternoon teas, and fun events like Sandwich Week. Families can book the coffee bar for private gatherings.

Life at Beechville includes music therapy, baking competitions, bingo, crafts, fitness sessions, and special visits—from llamas and opera singers to schoolchildren and scout groups. Regular trips and a full calendar keep the home lively and inclusive.

At Beechville, care isn’t just about support, it’s about creating a community where residents thrive. Whether you’re searching for yourself or a loved one, for residential, dementia or short-stay care, the team at Beechville are here to help.

Mum arrived at Beechville in December 2025, when my dad who was her main carer fell ill and was not in a position to continue. Initially there under respite, she settled well and with support from ASC and the Beechville team we realised that round the clock care was definitely what was required and
a permanent place was allocated. I cannot say how fantastic the Management and team were during this time whilst our family also navigated the stressful situation we found ourselves in both with mum and dad. Their support made the transition so much easier and they did their utmost to attend to mums/our needs, always making time for us, listening to what we had to say and making sure action was taken where possible. Since then theyve got to know mum and the care and love shown is genuine. Entrusting someone you love to the care of others is never easy. Finding a place with staff you can genuinely trust is everything, and we couldn't be more relieved and thankful to have found Beechville.
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you so much for taking the time to share your family's experience with Beechville. Thank you for your trust and confidence in our team. We appreciate the responsibility that comes with caring for a loved one, and we remain committed to ensuring your mum continues to receive the highest standard of care, support, and companionship.

My wife initially accessed the respite services at Beechville when I require a stay in hospital. The way staff at Beechville facilitated my wife's transition was exceptional. It became clear that my wife required continued support after respite.
The experiences we wittnessed during the respite period
provide overwhelming confidence on this being a more permanent placement.
The love, care and compassion shown is palpable and a testamony to the quality of care and support my wife receives.
As I've had to navigate my way through this new challenging experience, I have also been supported by the staff which has helped me personally.
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about the team at Beechville. We are delighted to hear that both you and your wife felt supported during what we appreciate has been a significant and challenging transition. We also recognise that this journey affects family members as well as residents. We are pleased that our team has been able to provide you with support and guidance during this time, and we remain committed to being here for both of you. Thank you once again for your thoughtful feedback and for placing your trust in Beechville. It is a privilege to support your wife and to be part of her ongoing journey.

I have always found the staff at Beechville to be respectful, kind and caring towards my friend and us as a family. There are plenty of age appropriate activities provided, which my friend enjoys. The management team are always open to suggestions and are willing to help in any way possible to improve
my friend's quality of life and to make her as comfortable as possible. I have, in general found the home in a clean condition. Occasionally I have requested an additional shampoo of the bedroom carpet. I feel Beechville provides it's residents with a warm and homely environment. On occasions I feel communication could have been better, but on the whole I am kept informed of anything significant. Occasionally I feel medical intervention could have been sought in a more timely fashion. However, I feel we, as a family are always supported, particularly during recent periods of illness. My friend considers Beechville her home and thoroughly enjoys being a member of the Beechville family.
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you for your kind feedback. We are so pleased to hear that your friend feels happy and at home at Beechville, and that you have found our team to be caring and supportive. It's wonderful to know the activities and environment are making a positive difference. We also appreciate your constructive comments regarding communication and the timeliness of medical intervention. Please be assured we take this seriously and will continue to review and improve in these areas. Thank you again for your support and trust in Beechville.

The staff are very caring. It would be good if the Activity Schedule was released on-line, consistently each week.
My sister has a meal there twice each week as she travels from Burnley. She said that she was more than ready for the winter menu to come to an end. She speaks highly of the quality of
food when the Activities Manager is on days off I would like to see more done to entertain residents. Entry and exit still difficult at week-end
Reply from Larissa Goddard, Home Manager at BeechvilleThank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are very pleased to hear your kind comments about our caring staff and the quality of the food provided within the home. It is lovely to know your sister enjoys her meals with us and speaks highly of the catering team. We understand the importance of keeping families informed and will work towards ensuring the weekly activities schedule is shared online more consistently. We also recognise the importance of meaningful engagement for our residents every day, including when the Activities Coordinator is off duty, and we are reviewing how we can further enhance activities and entertainment across the week. We are pleased to share that our seasonal menu updates are regularly reviewed to provide more variety and choice for residents and visitors alike. We are sorry to hear that entry and exit to the home remains difficult at weekends. Your comments have been noted and we will continue to look at ways to improve the visitor experience.

The Home is very well presented and is maintained to a consistently good standard supported by caring, friendly staff. The management team are easily approachable and deal with enquiries quickly and efficiently. Meals are prepared on site by a professional catering team and are of excellent quality
whilst residents have a very good weekly programme of entertainment and engagement which is delivered by dedicated staff. Overall, this care home provides a safe, secure and pleasant environment and it has a nice 'family' feel to it.
Moving mum into a care home was a tough decision but any reservations we had were quickly dispelled due to the above. Would definitely recommend.

We would like to thank all the staff at Beechville that have looked after Mum. Since her accident and hospital stay, she has gained superb strength both physically and cognitively and has a new lease of life with all the things she can do for herself. It has been a tonic for her and a comfort for me
to know she was being well looked after.

My sister has been a resident in Beechville since December 2024. All the staff and carers have treated her with so much kindness, patience and loyalty. She has had help, the utmost care and understanding in what has been a very difficult part of her life and has been given lots of smiles, encouragement
, good company and friendship. I can only say how much we both will miss all the staff here who have looked after her so well and have endeavoured to find the right care for her needs.
The management team have always been cheerful, helpful and sympathetic to our needs. Telephone calls have always been answered quickly and current information given. Visiting has always been welcomed.

I looked at many dementia residential homes before choosing Beechville. Beechville is a cut above everywhere else I looked. The standard of care is excellent, all the staff from housekeepers to the manager are caring, & really helpful. They go above & beyond to care for my mum. There is a regular activity
program - something that is really important for someone living with dementia. Most importantly I know mum is in good hands with people who care. Thank you Beechville.

When we first visited Beechville to see if it was suitable for our friend, we were struck by how light, bright and clean the environment is, but more especially by the kindness of the staff. Since our friend moved in, she has been treated with gentleness and care. The food is nourishing, and she has
put on weight. She was very anxious but is always smiling now. The range of activities is lovely, and the coordinator is very energetic. Our friend is warm and safe and no longer lonely.

My mother was a resident in Beechville for 10 months. Right from when she first moved in she was treated with loving dignity by all of the staff. Her room was large, warm and comfortable with her own en-suite. All of the staff, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, laundry etc were unfailingly polite and
cheerful to my mum and all of her visitors. We were always kept informed about her medical care. She gradually became more frail and was looked after beautifully by the carers, with regular input from district nurses. During her last few weeks, the family spent a lot of time with her and the Beechville staff extended their care to all of us - making sure that we had meals and drinks. She died last week peacefully at the age of 99. The family are so very glad that we chose Beechville to look after our beloved mother- Thank you to everyone.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.491)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.491) out of 10 for Beechville is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.739 for Beechville is calculated as follows: ( (106 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 4.739
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.752 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechville is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.952
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
