Beechville provides residential, dementia and short-stay care for up to 63 residents in a peaceful, purpose-designed home in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Once a Quaker home, Beechville has a long legacy of care and community. Today, it offers a safe, comfortable setting with en-suite bedrooms, cosy lounges, and a vibrant central coffee shop where residents, families and staff come together throughout the day.

Outdoors, the landscaped gardens include a courtyard with mature trees, bird feeders, raised beds, and a summer house gifted by a resident’s family. The space is used year-round for gardening, relaxing, and events such as barbecues and seasonal celebrations.

Meals are freshly prepared by an experienced head chef who also trains other MHA cooks. Menus are shaped by resident input and include hearty favourites, afternoon teas, and fun events like Sandwich Week. Families can book the coffee bar for private gatherings.

Life at Beechville includes music therapy, baking competitions, bingo, crafts, fitness sessions, and special visits—from llamas and opera singers to schoolchildren and scout groups. Regular trips and a full calendar keep the home lively and inclusive.

At Beechville, care isn’t just about support, it’s about creating a community where residents thrive. Whether you’re searching for yourself or a loved one, for residential, dementia or short-stay care, the team at Beechville are here to help.

Mum has been in Beechville for two and a half years during which time her dementia has progressed significantly. The care received has also changed over that time with more support being given to Mum. The staff are fantastic! They always have time for an update on Mum whenever I visit. I also know
that they will be in touch should anything happen in between visits. All family and friends are made very welcome and encouraged to visit.
The home is split into four different suites with each suite having its own lounge and dining room. This makes it more personal and friendly. One lovely part of Beechville is the Coffee Shop which takes place several times a week and is run by volunteers. They make everyone welcome and have time for a chat and a cuppa.
I cannot speak highly enough of Beechville and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

My mum has been in the home over 4 years and as she has deteriorated her health and personal needs have been brilliantly adapted, increased, but enabling her to do as much as possible. The staff are incredibly, friendly, and professional as well as capable. Mum still recognises a lot of her carers as
there is good continuity and that's important.

I moved my Mother into Beechville three years ago and from the moment she arrived there she seemed happy and settled. The most amazing thing about the care home is the staff, my mum's eyes light up when she see's them and their interactions with her a genuine and caring, her response to them shows that
this continues when I am not there. She always has a big smile. The activities on offer are wonderful, staff encourage residents to join in and feel this stimulates residents and keeps them active both physically and mentally (my mum is downstairs in the dementia unit). Some activities involve both residential and dementia suites and this works very well. there is a wonderful coffee shop a few times a week. This enables you to meet with other residents family members and a sense of community can be formed.
The manager is very approachable and very understanding and supportive. The ladies in the front office are also very kind and welcoming.
Thank you to everyone, for giving me peace of mind

Having been at Beechville for over a year now and with deteriorating health my Mum said her 94th birthday was the best one she had ever had. Thanks go to all the staff for making it a special day for her and in particular for the beautiful and delicious birthday cake made by the catering team.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.491)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.491) out of 10 for Beechville is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.739 for Beechville is calculated as follows: ( (106 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 4.739
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.752 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechville is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.952
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
