The staff are very caring and considerate with the residents. The food and environment are just right for their needs. The home is very clean. The rooms are homely and comfortable with everything you need If you have any worries the management and staff are always available to give advice and help. The activities available are fantastic and tailored to the needs of the residents.

The rooms are comfortable and cosy.

Mum has been a full-time resident on Thornlea for 18 months now and though it has been a difficult and emotional change of lifestyle all round, she is settled and safe and is able to wander the unit and lovely secure garden as much as she feels the need to. Her care from all the staff in every area is genuine and gives us full confidence that Mum has all her needs met. Mum's room is excellent and we couldn't be more pleased that she is with Eachstep.

My wife has been a full-time resident at Eachstep for about the last 14 months or so. Although everyone in my family has been through an emotional time we are relieved that at last, she is in a safe, secure place where we are confident the staff support her 100%. Her room is lovely. The food is delicious and if it was a hotel, I would be happy to stay there.

From day one, the staff have supported me through these very hard times. They are the most caring.

Excellent attitudes, caring staff and good hygiene standards. My grandma is much happier and much more settled at Eachstep than at the last home.

My husband died in February 2019 after 7 months of exceptional care in Eachstep care home Manchester. Such devoted care from every member of staff is beyond a mere thank you. My husband was cared for during his dementia state with efficiency, compassion and dignity. This care was extended to me, as I was an almost daily visitor and the welcome started as I entered reception. The design of the place creates a home type environment, it is non-formal and friendly. I witnessed dedication from Management and Staff and I certainly commend this lovely care home.

The care in Eachstep is excellent. The staff are all very caring, compassionate and dedicated. The care home is very clean and the cafe is an added bonus as it is nice to take our mother for her to mee other residents and their families for a chat, and it is good for family get-togethers. The staff treat all the residents with warmth, kindness and more importantly dignity. A brilliant home.

We moved my grandmother from another care home that was unable to meet her needs, since moving into Eachstep my nana is happy healthy and well cared for.

All the staff are welcoming and friendly and we couldn't ask for a better place for my nana to be.

Dementia is a terrible illness not just for the patient but also for the rest of their loved ones, family and friends. Everyone at Eachstep has done so much to make it better for all of us.

My mam was a resident for 5 years and the care provided by all staff was amazing. She was treated with dignity and as a valued human being.

I have read the recent review and felt I needed to add my experience.

My mum has lived at Eachstep for nearly three years and my overall view is that it is a lovely home, carers who have a genuine empathy and care for the people who live at Eachstep.

I do not agree with the description of the food. My experience is that the food is of a good standard and for those people with a soft diet, it is excellent.

An activities coordinator has recently been appointed and more focused activities have been delivered to the households with a brilliant Halloween party being held on the 31/10.

The bottom line is nobody chooses to put a loved one into residential or nursing care but there comes a point where there is no choice. I am assured as much as I can be, outside of me looking after her, that my mum is safe and that she is looked after with care and compassion at Eachstep and that is what is important.

Sadly over the last 18 months, I have noticed a rapid decline in the services and care at this care home – salient points below:-

• More worryingly long periods of time can elapse without seeing a visible member of care staff managing the main room leaving the residents to roam around without any supervision whatsoever.

The above has not always been the case and hopefully, the place will resume to the higher standard previously experienced. I am hoping sooner rather than later I will post a more positive review.

Da has now been in care coming up to two years. Being in care is the only option for him. It's not what we would have wanted, but life makes it that way. As carers, we as a family have found Each Step to be an honest, open and transparent group, who do the best that can be done with a difficult to manage group of people. Thank you.
