After a transfer from the previous care home, it was like walking into a luxury hotel. The staff, from management to catering staff, were excellent in providing a safe and friendly environment. At all times the resident was treated brilliantly and in an emergency responded in very quick order. Senior staff were very helpful with future information.

My Uncle has been in Wellington Lodge for just over a year now. He seems to have settled in really well, the staff are really good with all the residents as I've seen. The Manager is always there to listen and to help, communication is very good also, emails to let you know what is going on within the care home and my Uncle personally, would recommend this care home greatly. My Uncle has brain damage from a car accident 50 years ago and now has dementia too, but we as a family are happy with the care our brother and Uncle receives, thank you to all the staff and the Manager.

I, as the wife of a resident who is suffering with dementia, am very pleased with my husband's care and the understanding and friendliness of the staff. Also pleased with the cleanliness of the home and the layout. Staff are always happy to help namely some staff members, to name just a few as I can't remember all the names and I do apologise for that. Thank you Wellington Lodge.

My mum has been a resident at Wellington Lodge for seven years. In all those years, she has been very happy living there. We, as a family, have been very happy with the support and service she gets. The staff are very helpful and always have a smile on their faces. They treat her with dignity and respect, which is very important to her. In this last year with Covid, they have done what they can to enable us to speak to our mum. They have kept us up-to-date with Government policies. We feel we are very lucky to have found a good Care Home for our mum to be able to live in. She enjoys the varied and tasty food they serve each day.

Due to the pandemic, mum went to Wellington Lodge having only had 2 Skype calls and a look at the building from outside. In spite of the limited introduction, we were very happy indeed with her care there. The staff take a real interest in the residents as individuals, encouraging their interests even during quarantine and facilitating appetite preferences. Eventually, her appetite totally failed and I am very grateful to have been able to spend her last hours with her despite the C19 outbreak. Her own test result was negative which shows effective infection control.
We're only sorry that her stay was too short to be able to benefit from the full range of facilities particularly the art group and nature garden, however, she was able to do some art in her room. We were always able to get daily updates and also had Skypes, phone contact and window visits, generally spontaneously.

Wellington Lodge came through with flying colours for mum during this most testing time that is the pandemic.

The staff know and care about their residents. They have also kept me fully informed about my mother's health and well being throughout. The carers have been very considerate to the needs of both my mum and the family at this difficult time. This includes a short period of hospitalisation (not covid related) and subsequent convalescence. I feel that they have gone 'above and beyond' at what must have been a very stressful time for them all. Whilst the above relates primarily to the period March to present, during the pandemic, I feel that their care and kindness has been exemplary throughout the year. I know my mum is well looked after, safe and happy.

I find the contact I have had with the management and staff to be excellent. They are always polite, cheerful and ready to help with any assistance I have requested. I have spoken to my friend, and face timed with her thanks to the staff. This type of contact is very helpful and important whilst this virus is going on.

Mum has been at Wellington Lodge for 9 months now and is well cared for in every possible way. As she only eats certain foods, the chefs cater to her individual needs and she is encouraged to try different things from the general menu. She has a lovely room and the home is always spotlessly clean.
The staff are caring and warm, there is a happy atmosphere there and individual attention is given to residents when required. The management are professional and approachable and since lockdown have done an excellent job and there have had no cases of COVID.

It is always a pleasurable experience going to the home to visit mum as Wellington Lodge is spacious and modern and the staff are always cheerful and friendly. Since lockdown, they have done their best to keep us connected to our mum by facilitating supervised outside visits, window visits and virtual ones on the tablet.

My father has been at Wellington Lodge care home for nearly two years now enjoying all of his time there, my father and I can't thank ALL the staff enough, his care has been excellent and we as a family have been kept up to date at all times with any issues what so ever, all staff at all times make every effort to see to the needs of the residents as soon as possible whatever they be, the home always has something happening for the residents which keeps them entertained even when nothing is happening the staff are themselves very entertaining, the home and individual rooms are clean and tidy at all times to a very good standard, food and drink is again provided to a very good standard and kitchen staff are very helpful to the residents providing alternatives when possible.

I would like to take the opportunity to give extra thanks to 3 members of staff in particular for going that extra mile, I would like to add that during lockdown the management and staff have done a tremendous job.

The staff are nice and friendly to my mum and to me, the son of the resident.
My mum would like some of her traditional native meals occasionally. Also, her drinks, ie. tea, not to be too milky.

Also, my mum's room needs vacuuming more often, due to flakey skin coming off of her legs.

Since mum moved into the home in November 2019 she has been very comfortable and very happy. The staff are all lovely and very caring and very approachable. All her need are being met and nothing is too much trouble. There are lots of things going on during the week which residents are encouraged to join in with too.

The home is also spotless and any mess or accidents are cleared up straight away. It is a lovely home.

My mam was very well looked after and fed well.
Had a few issues with medication from the pharmacy, was very impressed with how the manager handled and rectified this and we were kept informed throughout.

Issues can arise, it's how they are dealt with that matters.

My Dad has been in Wellington Lodge for a year and throughout that time the staff and management have been consistently good and caring. To quote my Dad 'They treat me very well. Can't fault the place'.

A couple of my friends have been to visit Dad with me and have remarked on the pleasant atmosphere, the cleanliness, and that the residents look at ease and well looked after. The activities are also good and my Dad enjoys himself. All in all, under the circumstances Wellington Lodge gives some quality of life to the residents and I would recommend it (and have done).

Since my mother entered Wellington Lodge, she was made to feel welcome and part of the overall set-up. The staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble.
Also, the visitors to patrons are kept up to date with how things are.
I would recommend Wellington Lodge to anybody who was thinking of putting one of their loved ones into care, knowing they were receiving the best possible care.
