What a fantastic place Laburnum House is. My mother has been a resident there for almost 4 weeks and I cannot believe how quickly she has settled in (she is not the most co-operative person !!!). This is solely down to the manager and staff who are absolutely amazing. When myself and my husband first went to view Laburnum House we were told that "it was a family" and my goodness they were right. The whole place is immaculate, the food given is first class and everybody is treated with respect Nothing is too much trouble and I was astonished to be treated like family myself. I had many sleepless nights worrying about where my mother might go after she could no longer look after herself. I am now so reassured knowing that she is safely being cared for and enjoying her twilight years. I really didn't realise that places like Laburnum House existed. Well done Edelyn and all the staff.
Lovely, caring place, staff are always welcoming and attentive, happy always see my grandma always cared for happy and well looked after.
We're delighted to hear your grandma is happy and well cared for, and that you find our team welcoming and attentive. Your feedback means a great deal to us. Thank you
Great! Really helped mum settle in, feel so happy she is in a good place with people that genuinely care!
Thank you for your kind review. We're pleased your mum has settled in well and that you feel reassured she is in a caring and supportive environment. It means a lot to the team. Thank you.
Mum was only very recently admitted into Laburnum House, after extensive enquiries into different care homes. From the first moment we arrived, I cannot praise the staff and manager enough. Every single member came over to introduce themselves and take time to chat warmly with mum. We definitely made the right choice.
We are delighted that you and your mum felt so welcomed from the moment you arrived. Choosing a care home is a big decision, and we are pleased that our team helped reassure you that you made the right choice. Thank you for trusting us with your mums care.
I have visited Laburnum House many times over the last 8 years. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and take excellent care of the residents. I cannot think of any reason why I would not give this home an excellent review.
Thank you for your feedback and continued support of Laburnum House over the last 8 years. It is lovely to hear such positive comments about our team and the care they provide to our residents each day. Thank you again.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
We are delighted to hear that you find our staff friendly and welcoming. Creating a warm, caring environment for both residents and families is incredibly important to us. Thank you
My mother is now in her 8th year at Laburnum, over which time we have always been more than happy with the loving care that she receives, not only from the carers but all members of staff. Over this time my mother's dementia has progressed to a point that she no longer really recognises me bit when she sees any of the staff her face lights up with the biggest smile and always want a cuddle and kiss from them. Due to personal circumstances, I am in the process of moving a considerable distance from her but with the knowledge that my mum will be more than well cared for and loved at Laburnum. IF you are looking for a lovely home for a loved one, I would highly recommend visiting and considering Laburnum for that place.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Professional, warm, caring, welcoming. Great place for my mu, feel confident that my mum is happy and safe.
Such a safe, warm, inviting place. Just lovely.
Laburnum House is an amazing place, warm, friendly from all the staff. Always welcoming and nothing to much trouble, I have another family member in a local home and never feel as safe an environment for my grandma.
My father has really enjoyed his stay at Laburnum House. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. He has really appreciated his accommodation and provision of care. He has particularly liked the food provided. His time here has been very beneficial and he is very thankful for the hard work of all the staff.
We are delighted that my mother is being cared for here. Management, staff, food, cleanliness all fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone.
We are very happy with my mums care, the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful.
We're delighted to hear that you're very happy with your mum's care. Our team will really appreciate your lovely comments, and we'll continue to do everything we can to provide professional, friendly and helpful support. Thank you
Laburnum House is a very welcoming environment. The staff are professional, kind, patient and have a sense of humour. They treat residents with respect e.g. ensuring curtains are drawn when getting changed etc, that guests are not in the general main room for meal times etc. They try to give homely touches to residents rooms. At a recent BBQ it was great to see a real range of guests including children and animals. It was nice to see families of the staff. You feel that they all genuinely like and get along well with each other. They have treated our parents with kindness and dignity.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that you find Laburnum House to be a welcoming environment. Our team takes great pride in providing care with kindness, patience, and respect, while also ensuring that residents feel at home and comfortable. We're especially...

Extremely welcomed by all staff who have a lovely, friendly and caring nature. They each take time and have patience with every resident. They all work hard as a team and are always polite. Every request made is dealt with. The home is always clean, and the maintenance staff work hard. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities but are also allowed 'quiet' time if preferred.
Thank you so much for your review. We truly value all feedback, as it helps us continually improve the care we provide. We are delighted to hear that you feel we offer our residents personalised, individual care.

Meet the Team (1)

Edelyn was born and raised in the Philippines and the first industry she worked in was worlds away from care work too. Initially training and working in chemical engineering, Edelyn eventually found work as a production manager before training as an ISO auditor for eleven years.
But it wasn’t until 2004 that she found her true calling, when she decided to begin studying basic nursing in preparation for a move to the UK.
The Bloomcare family was excited to be able to welcome Edelyn in May 2005. The work came naturally to Edelyn and she soon began to climb the management ladder, eventually being chosen to manage the first Bloomcare home that we opened in Greater Manchester: Laburnum House. This was a huge responsibility and one that we felt we could only trust to Edelyn.
With our support, Edelyn has worked through various NVQ qualifications, and her wealth and variety of past experience has gifted her with the ability to communicate effectively with all kinds of people, as well as providing her with an indispensable set of leadership skills. All of these traits are central to the way that she runs Laburnum House. Everything that Edelyn and her staff do is carried out with the single goal of providing her residents with the highest level of bespoke care, with a focus on promoting independence, fostering healthy friendships, and retaining quality of life.
