Situated in an attractive residential area just outside of Rochdale in Lancashire, Oakland care home provides personalised residential and residential dementia care for older people.

Every corner of the welcoming and purpose-built home has been carefully thought through to offer an engaging environment for residents. With a sunny conservatory, hair salon, nail bar, sensory garden and a range of tastefully decorated single and en-suite bedrooms to choose from, residents benefit from a number of places to socialise with others as well as quieter spots to relax and unwind.

Meal times are a big focus at Oakland, and the catering team apply their creativity and culinary skills to offer a diverse menu that also meets the nutritional needs of each resident. The home offers a wide range of popular dining areas that provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends. For the warmer months the pretty garden is also a firm favourite with residents and their loved ones to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.

Very, very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Helped to turn a very stressful experience (Mum going into care for the first time) into something more manageable with trust quickly built. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Oakland Care home is the most welcoming place you could visit. All the staff are friendly, and there is always plenty going on. The manager and her staff are excellent and gave great advice on what's happening and things to do. The food is outstanding, and the home is always clean and tidy.

My mum was in only for a week but she loved her stay. Staff fabulous, so caring. Room lovely. Food and drinks all the time. Entertainment all the time. I know she was taken care of and can't thank everyone for taking the time to take care of her. So will, if I need, call them again and would recommend
to anyone I know. So thanks for the care from the manager, staff, cooks, carers, cleaners and all the staff. God bless, see you soon.

A huge thank you to staff at Oakland Care Home. They laid on two garden parties over the Queens Jubilee weekend, absolutely fantastic. Both residents and visitors had a fabulous time. My mum never stopped smiling. Brilliant!

From day one I got a really good feeling about the home. The staff immediately made my father comfortable and welcomed him as if he was royalty. My father made friends here and loved the staff who also became his friends. They treat and care for the residents with such care and compassion it's so lovely
to see. When my father passed away the staff were amazing. The care my father and all the family received was so first-class. I would definitely recommend Oaklands Care Home for a loved one as they are amazing. Thank you so much, Oaklands. You all will be remembered with love and gratitude for the care and love you showed my father.

Lovely staff from the start. Very helpful and explained everything I needed to know.
The home is lovely and clean, Dads room is always kept clean and tidy.
Dad is very settled and we are over the moon with the care that he receives. We are always kept up to date with Dads health and wellbeing.
The
care home have a great area for safe visits during the current times. Security in the home Is also fantastic!

My wife went into Oakland Care Home, 1st September 2021 very ill, confused and disorientated she is now a totally different person. She is able to walk partially unaided most of the time, can hold a partial and understandable conversation. I put this down to the care and attention of the friendly professional
care from all the staff, and many times they go above and beyond. Plus they are all so easy to talk to and very friendly.

Oakland staff were absolutely wonderful in the care of our sister in the last 8-months of her life. She loved the food and was very happy. The home is top class, excellently run, first class on cleanliness and COVID protection. I can’t fault the way that my sister was cared for and the kindness they
showed us. The members of staff that we saw giving her actual care were outstanding. We observed the treatment given to other residents, it was excellent, an excellent feeling of care calmness, and peace surrounded us when we visited. Oakland is a home I would be happy to go into if I could no longer manage in my own home. We thank them all.

Mum recently moved to Oakland, from the initial phone call to the care line staff and staff at the care home, everything was explained in detail with great expertise, understanding and efficiency. Staff kept me updated every step of the way; they made me feel at ease and gave me the confidence I chose
the right place for Mum to live. With these unprecedented times, it was not possible to meet staff in person or view Mum’s room, but the staff went above and beyond to send me photos, videos and calls, which made it easier knowing this was the right choice. On the day of the move, the staff made Mum and I feel welcome with a smile and friendly face, and nothing was too much trouble (they had even set up mum’s room perfectly.) All staff showed kindness, compassion and respect. Once Mum is settled, I have great confidence she will be happy here. Thank you all!

Mum has been in the care of the team at Oakland for a number of years and I can honestly say the team are fantastic and really go above and beyond to make her comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble and communication from the team is great which certainly gives me peace of mind that she is being well
looked after, particularly important when unable to visit due to current restrictions.

Unfortunately, my mum was admitted to Oakland a couple of days before the original lockdown in March 2020. As a result, it has been a difficult time for everyone. It is very difficult to communicate with my mum, but the staff have been extremely helpful in allowing us to stay in touch. They have kept
us informed on any issues/changes on a regular basis,# and have done their utmost to make her feel welcome and safe. Big thanks to all the staff!

My mum has been in Oakland Care Home for some 4 years. The home has a nice warm feeling. She has been well cared for. The carers are very genuine. I have no worries about her care when I am not there. Whenever there is a problem with mum's health, the carers phone me immediately and keep me updated.

The staff are very caring and helpful, always on hand to answer any questions. The home always smells clean. But I would like to be in place that if he has to go to A&E that one of the staff go with him. He likes it here but I know he is hard work at times, but I thank everyone there for the care.

Ren has gained over 20 years of experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Ren joined Oakland care home as Home Manager as she closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Ren remarked: “I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”


Outside of work, Ren loves nothing more than indulging in her love for trying new food.
