Appleton Lodge took very good care of my mum. Even though Mum's time at Appleton was brief, they looked after her in every way possible. Towards the end of mum's life, they were a great support and did everything they could to make mum comfortable before she passed away.

I would recommend Appleton Lodge as a care home to friends and family if they needed care or treatment. They looked after my mum to a very high standard.

My experience of Appleton is excellent; nothing is too much trouble. They look after their residents, could do more with variety on activities E.G, children from local schools going in, maybe a couple of therapy pets.

Whilst visiting my relative, I took ill and required an ambulance. Charlie, a carer, looked after me and kept my relative reassured too.

My mum has been in Appleton Lodge for almost 4 years. In this time she has had excellent care and is very happy there. I cannot praise the staff enough, they treat the residents with care and respect. They have a lot of activities to stop the residents getting bored and also to stimulate them. Overall I have no complaints.

Takes a long time to gain entry as staff always busy or they don't hear door bell
Food ok and will changed menu to suit residents needs.

Would like to see more activity with residents as had no One In role to do this for last few months not really acceptable

Mum came to Appleton Lodge Care Home in October 2023 suffering badly from Alzheimer's and very restricted mobility. From day one, all the care staff were excellent; friendly, caring, helpful and knowledgeable. They did all they could to get her more mobile and made good progress. On arrival her Alzheimer's was untreated and she was often very uncooperative and even violent towards the staff. They dealt with this with patience and good humour. The management team worked with the local mental health team and started her on medication which made a huge difference. Within a few weeks under their care, she was once again much more like my mum. At all times the staff kept me fully informed as to their thoughts and plans for her treatment. Whenever there was any issue with her health I would be informed immediately. I cannot praise the management and staff of Appleton Lodge enough. They did so much to help her make the most of her stay and were exceptionally caring as she approached the end.

Mum came to Appleton Lodge from another care home, which she did not settle well into. Mum was not always the easiest to look after however, the staff at Appleton Lodge were amazing with her from day one. From the time the home manager and deputy manager came to assess Mum, they made every effort to get to know her as an individual, her likes and dislikes.
All the staff were very friendly and welcoming to both me and family, the atmosphere was always friendly. The management team were very responsive to any concerns raised, keeping the family updated on any changes to her care.
Sadly Mum passed away in May of this year in Appleton Lodge and I can not thank the care staff enough for the care and compassion they showed Mum and our family in the last few weeks of her life.

I can not recommend this care home enough, I can now reflect fondly on the time Mum spent at Appleton Lodge thanks to the care team and the support she received.

We chose Appleton Lodge Care Home after visiting a number of homes in the area. As soon as we arrived we found it to be clean, organised and efficient but more importantly, friendly and welcoming. The staff I have encountered are helpful and caring and clearly have Mum's best interests at heart at all times. Mum's needs can be challenging at times but they are always positive and her health has improved since she has been there. 5 months in and I am certain we made the right choice with Appleton Lodge!

Staff are so friendly and helpful, they can't do enough for the residents. They make my mum feel safe and always have time for her. There are all sorts of activities going on which she can join in. A lovely garden to sit in when the weather permits. She enjoys the meals and that she can always ask for a cup of tea, staff are only too willing to get her one. Couldn't wish for a better place for Mum and it also puts my mind a rest.

This care home is second to none. The residents are looked after as though they were family. The staff are excellent, sensitive towards residents, treat them at all times with dignity and care. I have a good relationship with the staff they keep me up to date at all times about my mother. I wouldn't even consider her going to any other care home - this is a home-from-home. I am 100% happy with everything to do with the care home. I can go away each day knowing Mum is looked after when I'm not there.

October marks twelve months since Mum moved into Appleton Lodge. Yes - she had time where she wanted home - all very expected - but in time due to the care and residents (who she all considers friends now) she refers to Appleton Lodge as home. She enjoys the food and all the chats with carers and residents and we were so grateful to the kind agreement of the home to allow a lodger to join Mum - her canary! It really helped Mum settle in quickly. Sadly, Mum has had a few bouts of illness, even a hospital stay - but the carers are always on full alert - DN's and the GP readily available and all the care is second to none - we can't thank all the staff enough.

My mum has been in the care home since May 2023, we'd visited a lot of care homes before we visited Appleton Lodge Care Home and your care home was by far the best we'd seen. The staff are absolutely brilliant and very caring and Mum's room is lovely, clean and fresh. Food is great and the activities are a bonus. I would highly recommend Appleton Lodge to friends.

I moved my partner to Appleton Lodge on 12th April 2023. Since moving him, I have visited without an appointment every week. Every time my partner has been clean and sitting in his chair looking well and is happy. His room is clean and smells nice, the window opened and no rubbish lying around. He looks well-fed and always has a jug of water if he gets thirsty, I am delighted. The home tells me when he falls.

My experience since viewing, and now my family member residing in the home, has been very welcoming. All the staff are so caring, listen to you and ask about your loved one. Nothing is too much trouble to them, whatever you ask. The home interior is immaculately kept and bright and airy. Outside is landscaped and kept beautiful too. 100% happy.
