The activities are much better than they used to be. The food always looks lovely.
Staffing levels seem to be getting quite low. My nanna always has clothes/glasses/PJs etc going missing despite them being labelled. Her dressing gown has been missing for weeks.
The notice board/menu never seems
to have the right day or date displayed with could cause even more confusion to residents.

We are sorry you feel your Nana's items go missing but this is very normal in a busy home, and we are pleased to let you know she has her glasses and dressing gown in her room. The menu boards were purchased by me (the Manager) and I fill these in myself - they were not filled in when I was on annual leave but will ensure they are going forward.

My cousin hated his previous care home and it closed due to it being so bad. He loves this care home and the staff. He has memory and communication problems but not Dementia. The staff go out of their way to see to his needs. He is happy at Bamford Close Care Home and I do not worry for him now he is
there.

My mum has been at Bamford Close for a few months now, she was reluctant at first, but loves it. She has made lots of new friends with the residents and staff. The staff are amazing, it's like one big happy family. Really impressed with everything.

I have found Bamford Close to be caring, welcoming and stimulating for residents and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The staff are bright and smiley and show compassion and concern. The atmosphere at the open breakfast was just lovely.

I was really worried about my mum settling in a huge change for all of us she’s only been there a couple of days the staff are very friendly the place is very clean and tidy your made to feel welcome from the very first time you set foot in the door, they all seem very approachable I came home feeling
very settled in the knowledge that my mum was safe and cared for and she actually stated she liked it ( what a relief to hear those words)

Staff are always helpful in regards t residents and visitors. The home is always clean and tidy and in good repair. The only minus is sometimes clothing has gone missing but this is probably due to them not being labelled by relatives.
The staff do a super job in a difficult environment and coped with
the added pressure of the Covid crisis in a professional manner.

The care home is very well run, caring for all the resident's needs. There is adequate staffing, but as always would benefit from extra staff to cover whenever they are short-staffed. If they were able to have voluntary helpers, this would also be of great value. The carers or helpers would have enough
time then if staffing levels were increased, to spend that valuable important time needed with the vulnerable. I hope this issue can be addressed in all homes.

I visited Mumon three consecutive days as I live 200 miles away. Due to Covid restrictions, I was unable to look around the care home so cannot comment on cleanliness. All staff appear efficient, professional and caring towards Mum. She was well looked after and seemed happy and settled in her new environment.
She passed favourable comments about food and activities. Overall I felt she was in good hands.

Mum has been at Bamford Close for three years now and although she struggled to settle in initially staff were extremely caring and supportive and she settled quite quickly. Due to her dementia she can sometimes be quite difficult to manage however, the staff are very patient and manage her behaviour
in a extremely professional manner. Although the home is a little tired it is always kept very clean and I have never noticed any unpleasant smell which you can in some homes, although some of the furniture in the bedrooms could do with updating.

My mum arrived at Bamford Close Care Home not long before Covid 19. She settled in well and staff were very helpful. Her medical and dietary needs were met. During lockdown I have had confidence Mum is ok by receiving emails and phone calls. Staff are very friendly and supportive and they are doing
the very best for my mum. A big thank you to all.

Deborah Whitworth has been a Care Home Manager for over 10 years and has worked at Borough Care since November 2021. Deborah started off as a Care Assistant 30 years ago and worked her way to Senior Care, Team Leader, and Nurse Aid before becoming a Manager in 2010. She loves working in care because she likes to make a difference in residents’ lives and ensure they are happy and cared for.
