Care Homes Owned by Borough Care Ltd
Live life in colour at a Borough Care home.
Borough Care believes that everyone should be encouraged and supported to live their best life, whatever their age, health, or capabilities. Instead of settling into a grey existence, they choose to live life in colour.
In its 12 homes across Stockport and Staffordshire, the incredible life stories and fascinating characters of its residents are respected, admired, and celebrated with activities, friendship, and the freedom to lead fulfilled and valuable lives.
Borough Care prides itself on its flexible approach to caring for all residents. Its experience in supporting people with a wide range of needs and understanding the uniqueness of each individual and their families spans almost three decades.
Borough Care knows that choosing a care home is a big decision and that you need to know that essential care needs are met. That’s why it works with residents and their families to ensure that every person in its care has a Personal Support Plan. This means looking in detail at what’s important to the individual.
Unlike many residential care providers, Borough Care is a not-for-profit, meaning it doesn’t have any shareholders to pay or a need to charge any more than is necessary to provide outstanding care. Instead, Borough Care reinvests in its staff and residents.
When it comes to residents, their personalities are unique, and so too is their care solution. Borough Care takes the time to find out what every person needs and loves, so its teams can deliver the care and support that is personal to them; from the way they like to relax to the way they prefer their toast.

My dad moved to Meadway a few months ago. He has required a lot of support in terms of the adjustment and his progression of dementia, and the staff at Meadway have been really pro-active and professional with this, working with secondary care teams to support him as needed. This has not been an easy
process and the staff have been really committed to helping him. He is now starting to be much more settled, and appears much happier. Staff are very friendly, kind, and compassionate. He enjoys the food and the sessions where singers come in. I am really glad we chose Meadway for him.
Reply from Louise Yarker, Meadway Court Manager at Meadway CourtWe know that moving into a care home and adjusting to the progression of dementia can be a difficult journey, so we're delighted that your dad is now feeling happier and more settled. It's lovely to see him enjoying the food and entertainment, and we're so pleased our team has been able to support both him and your family during this time. Thank you for trusting Meadway Court with his care and for your kind words.

My Mother is a resident of Meadway Borough Care Home in Bramhall. As a family we are all very pleased with the care my Mother receives. As my Mother has dementia the disease can make her difficult and the staff are amazing at dealing with her moods. We think the staff deserve recognition for the way
they handle Mum who I have seen been rude and uncooperative with staff members when they are only trying to help her with her personal care.
The home is kept very clean and beautifully decorated around the certain times of the year for example Valentines day, Halloween, VE day, Christmas ect.
The home provides activities for the residents and actively encourages them to join in for example Mum enjoyed making a pizza the other afternoon. The staff also take the residents out to certain events. The home also holds a resident meeting every month where it can be helpful to meet other residents family members so that we can share stories about this awful condition.
Reply from Louise Yarker, Meadway Court Manager at Meadway CourtThank you for taking the time to share your lovely review. We're really pleased to hear that you and your family are happy with the care your mum receives at Meadway Court. Supporting someone living with dementia can be challenging, so your kind words about how the team respond with patience, kindness and understanding mean a great deal. We'll be sure to share your kind words with the team.

When my sister first moved to Meadway Court I was worried she wouldn't settle, it was all new for her but the staff were very kind and helpful and reassured me. She loves it now and it's so good to see her happy and well cared for, she's even had a day out! Well done to all the staff.
Reply from Louise Yarker, Meadway Court Manager at Meadway CourtThanks so much for your lovely review. We know how worrying it can be when someone first moves in, so we're really glad the team were able to reassure you. We'll make sure the team hear your kind words.

My husband has been at Meadway for almost three years. During that time, I cannot fault the care that has been provided. Many of the staff have been there in all that time which is, in itself, testament to the environment. Positivity and genuine kindness and understanding by the staff, of each resident
and to each other, is a real strength of the home. Our daughters and I feel very comfortable visiting at any time of the day and always made to feel welcome. Staff know Richard well and know how to get the best out of him despite his Alzheimer's.
Reply from Louise Yarker, Meadway Court Manager at Meadway CourtIt's wonderful to hear that you, your husband and family have felt so well supported at Meadway Court over the past three years, and that you always feel welcome when visiting. We're especially pleased that the team's kindness, consistency and understanding of your husband's needs have made such a difference. Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words, which will mean a lot to everyone at Meadway Court.

I come here a few times a week with my husband visiting my brother in law.
I find the staff are very peasant, helpful and show lots of care for the residents.
The whole place is always kept so well clean including the residents rooms, lounges corridors etc.
There seems to be a lot of activities going
on in the lounges, such as singers etc.
The gardens are kept in lovely condition for the nice weather for residents and families to share together.
I would definitely recommend Bruce Lodge.

I've always found the home to be very good and has even improved more so in the last few years.
The staff are freindly, approachable and caring towards the residents.
My brother is well looked after and the staff are very kind to him and
make us welcome also. His room is lovely and the cleaning staff do a great job. The whole home is spotless including lounges etc.
The food is excellent for all residents including the ones on special diets.
The management team and the carers have shown great suppot for my brother in ties of need which is very well appreciated.
I feel relaxed knowing the staff will look after him well and would always recommend Bruce Lodge and it's staff.

Staff are generally visible, friendly and caring. Communication with staff is generally good, positive, clear and visible. Some staff less so. Where this is the case communication with residents and visitors can be difficult. Some staff are brilliant and proactive and genuinely interested in delivering
a person centred service, some less so, but I think that's the case in many care homes. Mum appears to be happy, safe and well. She regularly takes part in activities and is kept occupied. Her room is compact but functional and clean and tidy. Her room is personal to her with photos on the walls etc. The food is made fresh on-site and does the job. Mum is pampered and has her nails, hair and feet done regularly. She feels looked after and pampered. Meadway is in a great central location in the village centre. The main thing is mum is happy, safe and well which makes me happy.
Reply from Louise Yarker, Meadway Court Manager at Meadway CourtWe're really pleased to hear you feel that your mum is happy, safe and well at Meadway Court - that's exactly what matters most. It's lovely to know she's enjoying the activities, and all the little extras like hair and nails, as well as having a room that feels personal to her.
We also really appreciate your honest feedback about communication and consistency across the team. We'll make sure this is shared with the home so we can keep learning and improving. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to speak with a member of our Management Team on your next visit.

has trouble eating, which I am very grateful for because I know she is eating something.

Overall care is very good.I feel my loved one is safe and looked after.
I am pleased that there are a lot more activities since Matthew has been the ALF previously activities were concentrated to downstairs residents.
However I do think that there are too many residents upstairs.
This results in
overtired staff. Many residents don't get an armchair to sit on after lunch yet there are many seats downstairs empty.
I strongly feel they should be able to sit comfortably as after all Cawood is now their home.
Reply from Lisa Murphy, Cawood House Manager at Cawood HouseThank you so much for your kind comments. It means a lot to hear that you feel your loved one is safe, well cared for and happy at Cawood House. Thank you too for sharing your thoughts about the seating and the number of residents upstairs. This feedback is really important to us, and we completely understand how important it is for residents to feel comfortable and at home in their living spaces. I have reached out to you to discuss your comments further and would be very happy to have another chat should you wish to do so. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review and for your continued support of Cawood House.

The home itself is consistently clean

We recently arranged a short respite stay at Hen Cloud for my mum, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel completely welcome and at ease, especially Richard, which was such a relief as she had been quite anxious beforehand.
The
care and attention she received were outstanding. Every member of staff was kind, patient, and genuinely caring-nothing ever seemed too much trouble. It was clear they took the time to understand her needs and preferences, which made a huge difference to her comfort and confidence.
The home itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had a really warm, homely atmosphere. Meals, which were varied and freshly prepared, were excellent and she loved having the option to join in with activities or simply relax in her room.
What stood out most for me was the peace of mind it gave our family. Knowing she was safe, happy, and well looked after meant we could truly relax during the break.
Reply from Kirsten Brindley-Biddulph, Hen Cloud House Manager at Hen Cloud HouseThank you so much for your lovely feedback, which I will be sure to share with the team at Hen Cloud House.
