My friend became a member of the Shepley family in 2019 and spent a total of six and a half years in their care. During that time I visited him at many different times of the day or evening and was always made welcome, I never felt that I was in the way, even at evening whey they were preparing people
for bed.
The staff have always looked after him to the very best standards, nothing was ever too much trouble. They also looked after me and his wife when we had to go because he was ill, bringing tea and food to keep us going. The activities are varied, entertaining and geared to engage with all. I would not hesitate in recommending Shepley House to anyone trying to find the perfect place for their loved one.

My husband was resident in Shepley House for 6 and a half years until his death in January of this year.
I have never, in all that time, had a moments worry or any need to complain on the wonderful care and attention he received. He loved the staff and the staff loved him. Every member of staff is
amazing and gives their best every day. They also looked after me as part of their family. If you are contemplating on Shepley House for a loved one, you will not find a better place.

The staff made Shepley House become home for my brother. There was entertainment and events every week. Jan took care to connect with Peter and find out what would make him feel settled and happy. They made us as a family feel at ease knowing he was safe and cared for. Thank you.

The entire team at Shepley are amazing and go above and beyond in the care they provide for my father. We were in crisis caring for dad at home when we started looking at options. From the first walk through the door it felt like the perfect home for Dad, friendly staff, homely atmosphere, happy residents,
to John staying late to answer my questions.
Nothing is a problem for the team, they take everything in their stride, with care, compassion, understanding, experience, and humour. They engage with the residents and the residents including Dad are really happy. We are welcomed for visits at any time. Family can join in the events, of which there are many, and it's lovely to he able to get Dad up dancing which he has always loved. Today we are joining them for a valentines party with a buffet and ABBA theme. From regular music, therapy animals (which includes Shetland ponies in the home), trips out to name just a few.
Moving Dad to live at Shepley has been the positive decision

My mother is 84 with severe altzimers. The manager Leah has gone above and beyond to accept my mums stay permanently and have placed her in her own room with ensuite. Staff are all amazing and couldn't ask for a better care home for her. She has settled in within 1week.
I can't praise them enough
for their help and support.

I have been volunteering at Shepley House for over a year now. On every occasion I have witnessed nothing but compassion and professionalism from all members of staff.
The residents appear comfortable and it is clear their individual needs are being met. It is heartwarming to see how well this establishment
is run.

My dad Jeff has been a resident at shepley now since August 2025; initially it took him a while to settle.
Now settled he has his cheeky smile all the staff love his humour he loves participating in the entertainment side and joining in with activities.

All the staff are amazing from John the

Manager, Jan the Activities Coordinator. Nicole the Admin lady Ash charlie Kim Lisa and all the other excellent team. Sorry cannot remember everyone's names you are all exemplary and do an amazing job.

my only negative feedback is missing clothing we have bought in expensive shirts and they are nowhere to be seen which i know can sometimes happen but still frustrating.

Thank you team of Shepley House for looking after my dad from family of Jeff

My mother in law has been at Shepley House since COVID , I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they do for her , I honestly believe she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the care she gets . It is a warm friendly home from home . The staff go above and beyond to care for the residents , treating
them with dignity kindness and respect , some members of staff treat them as if they were their family !

My brother transferred to Shepley House in autumn 2025 on recommendations from several people.
The move has proved that not all care homes are the same. Here at Shepley he gets the level of interaction with staff and stimulation from the many activities on offer, both in house and on outdoor visits
and trips.
His general demeanour and well being have improved beyond recognition since he arrived and he clearly enjoys the banter and daily conversations.
I would heartily recommend Shepley as a first class choice and thank the staff for the excllent care they offer.

Jon and his staff at Shepley House are Brilliant, very very caring, the Entertainment is phenomenal something on every day , they go out on day visits Blackpool Light , Tea Dance , and a pantomime, it's quiet time at weekends, My Mum has been a resident since Aug 25 , when she arrived she couldn't stand
, now she is up Dancing and walking around without any Aids . She sits in the office with Jon and the team and talks to the residents who are Bed bound , I think she thinks she works there , I couldn't recommend Shepley any higher, it was the best day when we walked through the doors and met Jon and His Staff ,

My Mum became a resident in October 2025. After a stressful and emotional struggle to get to that point I was dreading how she would react and settle. However, I've been amazed at the pain free reaction. Mum has settled down well and do quickly. To anyone else who is going through that awful time, I
can only say that Shepley House are excellent and I have no hesitation in highly recommending their care.

What can I say..? Dad needed a new care home as the place he was in was not a good fit. We needed to get this one right and boy is it right! Dad is the happiest we've seen him for a very long time, he is always doing something rather than just sitting in his room. The staff are always smiling and nothing
is too much trouble. They literally think of everything. I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather my dad be. John, Charli, Jan (oh we do love Jan..) and everyone are amazing and Dad loves them all. Well done all at Shepley House, keep up the incredible work you all do

My mum has been in Shepley House for just over a year now. From day 1 she settled in and understood it was her home now. The staff are always nice and help with my mum's needs. They are all very caring. They have lots of entertainment with regular singers and people coming in. The rooms are
nice and all the decor is of high standard in the lounges etc. I am very happy we found Shepley House for my mum

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.913)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.913) out of 10 for Shepley House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.913 for Shepley House is calculated as follows: ( (273 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.913
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Shepley House is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
