My mum has stayed at Silverdale for the last 3 months having previously come from hospital after having a fall at home. Not having met any of the staff as mum came in during the COVID-19 outbreak l can only go on conversations l have had with staff and my mum on the phone. Mum had nothing but praise
for the staff always saying how kind and helpful they were and as mum usually does not mince her words this was good enough for me. l found the staff l spoke to helpful and always ready to listen to what you had to say to them. lt was with regret that l had to move my mum from Silverdale to a home nearer to me as l do not have transport and it was just too hard for me to get there. l would never have moved her otherwise. l would definitely recommend Silverdale to anyone thinking of a home for one of their loved ones as my mum was very well looked after. Thank you to all the staff.
Reply from Valerie Egan, Head of Care Services at SilverdaleThank you for your kind words which I will share with the staff. I hope that Mum is settled in her new home.

Having visited my relative for the last 4 years at Silverdale, I have found the staff very friendly and helpful and certainly caring and attentive towards her. They have kept me well informed of all procedures to her health care, which shows they are in line with the legal care procedures. Due to her
illness, she can no longer participate in social activities as she did in the past. Recently she had an urgent A&E visit to the hospital in the early hours of the morning. I was notified. She was accompanied by staff at all times. I am very grateful, showing how caring they are.

On the whole, we find the home satisfactory. It is annoying when possessions go missing never to be seen again, despite everything being named.
The staff are professional, pleasant, helpful, caring but not enough of them, especially at weekends.
They work very hard under trying conditions at times,
always with a smile.

My father in law has been a resident for around five months and the care and attention he has received since day one has been absolutely fantastic! We cannot praise ALL the staff enough. EVERYONE we met has been professional, caring and considerate - even during the middle of the night when staff are
obviously tired, they have been amazing.
The care home has a lovely, bright welcoming feel to it.
Every time we visit we ask how the staff are looking after him and without exception he always replies 'tip top - cannot fault them at all'.

The care home is bright, welcoming, stimulating and well planned. The daily activities are interesting and fun.
The information boards are attractive, colourful and up to date.
Regular trips out provide additional treats for residents. Staff are always friendly and helpful to visitors and gentle and
understanding in their treatment of residents.
Residents are encouraged to participate in activities, challenging their minds and encouraging them to socialise.
Many thanks.

Every experience we have had with Silverdale has been nothing but positive, whether it has been the surroundings, the interior or the staff. We had a hard decision to make in needing to get our Dad into full-time care but we have felt justified now as his care has been wonderful and the worries of him
being on his own have been forgotten.

I have just lost Mum and I could not find anyone better than the staff at the home. They are the most caring and friendly that you would find anywhere in Stockport. Mum was in Silverdale for around 2 and a half years. I send you all one BIG thank you for all you did.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.802)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.802) out of 10 for Silverdale is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.827 for Silverdale is calculated as follows: ( (187 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 226 Ratings = 4.827
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Silverdale is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
