Since Mum moved into the home in August the care she has received has been good. The staff deserve medals for the job that they do. Our only area of concern is that Mum doesn’t always get the one-to-one attention that she needs when eating her meals. We know this may be difficult at times as there may
be a shortage of staff plus other residents as well.

My aunt seems very happy in the Wellcroft and has settled in well. She has her own room but prefers to be in the social areas which are always clean. Whenever I visit, she is clean and tidy. The carers know her well and have adapted to her needs. As a family, we are always welcome.

Great Care Home, they take care of their residents really well. The staff are efficient at communicating any care needs or requirements with key relatives and always put the well being of the resident at the heart of everything they do. My grandma is currently one of their longest residents and is very
happy there.

My wife who is suffering with Alzheimer’s has been in Wellcroft since December it’s a nice friendly home, she has a decent room which I was allowed to decorate for her, she also had a picture frame put up which her sister did for her with the family on, the care staff are lovely and nothing seems too
much for them, from what I have seen Wellcroft is very well run.

Mum has been a resident at Wellcroft since November 2020. Throughout the time she has been a resident she has received outstanding care from a team of professional staff. The staff know each resident's own particular preferences and adapt their care accordingly. Wellcroft feels like a family and residents
are treated as though they are family members. The staff help to support residents' individuality and arrange some lovely visits and one-to-one activities. Mum is extremely happy at Wellcroft and I wouldn't want her to be cared for anywhere else.

My mum moved to Wellcroft 8 months ago and it has been difficult at times for her to adjust and accept, but the care shown to her (and us) has been kind and genuine, respectful and professional. Her physical health is well monitored and she is much better medically than when she went in. I am kept well
informed and feel involved and welcomed when we visit. Her friends that visit also comment positively on the care in the home. Thank you.

My husband has recently been moved into Wellcroft, and to date, we have found that he has settled quickly and is being very well cared for. We are advised immediately of any problems and the actions taken. Both my sons and myself could not have asked for better care and attention. Thank you, Wellcroft
staff.

I have been very impressed with the actions of the staff at Wellcroft, be it collecting the residents for mealtimes or entertainment. Their patience is to be commended under occasional stressful situations.
Every one of them referred to the residents by their name and is genuinely fond of each one.

To all of the staff at Wellcroft, thank you for making the last fourteen months of my mum's life very happy, comfortable and content.
The care, compassion and professionalism shown by you all were exceptional and lovely. On many an occasion, Mum would say how kind you all were to her and I know that
she would want me to say thank you from her too.
I miss seeing you as you were all so welcoming and friendly which made me feel that Mum was in the very best place for her and in the safest of hands.
With the greatest respect for you all, thank you.

The staff at Wellcroft are always amazing. However, the effort that the whole team made for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations was nothing short of fantastic. Our whole family was welcomed into Wellcroft and everyone had a truly spectacular time. The team's hard work and dedication certainly paid off.
Our thanks to them all.

What a fantastic job Wellcroft did in celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. Mum, who has been in the home for three years now, had such a great time. The staff were all amazing, making sure everyone was looked after. Beautiful buffet on both days, a quiz with prizes and a fantastic singer. Everyone was so
happy, all up singing and dancing, which brought me to happy tears. That weekend is something I will treasure forever in my memories, thank you all so much for making it so special for everyone, let's have some more of these fun times.

Myself, my daughter and grandchild visited for the garden party which was in full swing when we got there.
I can only go by what happened when I was there so can’t comment on anything that went before or after.
I appreciate how difficult running a care home must be and I know the staff are of good
heart and try hard so this isn’t aimed at any individual more rather how I felt on that day.
On entry, the lady that let us in wasn’t sure whether we needed to have brought our Covid tests or not and a senior member of staff assured her that she needed to be checking as at that point there was a Covid case upstairs which I thought was a bit lax that the member of staff didn’t know the drill on something that important.
Even though there was effort put into the celebration, there was no offer of a drink or anything to visitors and felt that once they had been sat down on the whole that was it, there was nothing going on.
Other homes in the group seem to be doing a lot more? Appreciate the new manager.

Staff always welcome family on arrival. They are happy to assist Mum into a wheelchair for us to take her out, even when it is obvious they are so busy. We are always kept up to date for example, if the GP has visited and when Mum was the resident of the day we received a lovely message. We always feel
included in Mum's care and Wellcroft. They always encourage us to maintain a special relationship with Mum. We cannot thank the whole team enough.

As you walk through the door at Wellcroft it doesn't hit you with that 'this is a care home' feel but of a more homely feel to the place. Management and staff are always polite and welcoming. The standard of hygiene and cleanliness are excellent.

I believe my cousin is well cared for at Wellcroft. Staff show her respect as an individual and listen to her when she expresses her needs. Wellcroft always feels clean and safe. Staff are friendly to me as a visitor and make me feel welcome. They recognise the importance to my cousin and me of family
contact. Despite being blind, staff make sure my cousin's room is bright and cheerful and reflects her life.

What was my mum's transition to care (respite) was very difficult but staff was always warm and compassionate. Due to Covid, I cannot offer a review of all facilities after not having access. I was very impressed with the home's approach to some initial unsettled behaviour. We are seeking Wellcroft
for mum's permanent transition into full-time care. Only quibbles - telephone communication - sometimes messages or phone not picked up. Mum came out and still 3 weeks later, missing clothes not retrieved. Other than that, there are no concerns regarding what's most important.
Reply from Julie Veritiero, Registered Manager at WellcroftThank you for the positive feedback, I apologize you have experienced negative aspects of the service provision and assure you we will look into the issues raised and contact you with the outcome.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.141)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.141) out of 10 for Wellcroft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.216 for Wellcroft is calculated as follows: ( (128 Excellents x 5) + (65 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (20 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.216
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wellcroft is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2024

I have been a mental health nurse since 2007 and worked as a Home Manager for the last 3 years.  My last ten years have been working in dementia settings and I love finding out about the residents and how we can look to improve their quality of life on a daily basis.   I am very open and honest and want my home to feel welcoming to residents and also their families.  I find Music and dance can play a massive part in care homes and I love nothing more than joining in a singalong and dance with residents.
