I would like to commend the palliative care provided by Wellcroft staff and the end of life support afforded to my friend's husband in his last weeks.


I have professionally led the end of life care agenda in both the Department of Health and within the NHS so was very pleased to see the exceptionally

high standards of compassion, support, validation and empathy given to my friend, her husband and his family and friends consistently throughout his last few weeks of life.


Whether it be the cleaner who was on first name terms with my friend's husband and always gave a cheery wave and smile, or the care assistants who sat with him to patiently help him drink and eat and sat with him through the night when he was unwell. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. At all times the management consulted the family and supported them through difficult times. Even in his final hours, the family were asked if any changes were needed in his care.

Wellcroft came to my rescue four years ago when I was struggling caring for both my parents. My Father arrived first and improved dramatically so I had no hesitation letting Wellcroft care for my Mum. The atmosphere is welcoming and caring. All staff, including housekeeping, care for the resident's
wellbeing. I am kept informed of any issues regarding Mum. She is much happier in herself.

Since my mother has been n this care home she has been looked after so well by the professional and caring staff. My sister and I could not be happier with the care she has received. Some old people decline when going to live in a care home but our mother has done the opposite and improved. In fact,
we both agree that if it wasn't for the excellent care she receives she wouldn't be with us today.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this home to someone with an elderly relative. The staff deserve to be recognised for their hard work and dedication.

I have been visiting my old friend of 40 years, who is sadly in Wellcroft, Gatley, Cheshire suffering from Alzheimer's Disease since April 2017. The atmosphere created by the wonderful staff, ably managed is wonderful. The place is very clean and bright and provides entertainment and safety for the
vulnerable residents. Pictures, objects and even a mock public bar, all help the residents to relax and give reminders of previous good times. A visit is very refreshing, despite the circumstances being difficult. Well done Wellcroft.

All the staff are welcoming and friendly. they know the residents very well and their likes and dislikes.
There are frequent activities with visiting entertainers and singers which the residents enjoy. The staff keep me updated with how my mum is and if there are any changes to her needs.

I visited numerous residential homes before deciding on Wellcroft. The living arrangements are inviting and stimulating for residents and visitors. The manager has created a home full of interest and links with normal life. The staff are considerate, kind and responsive to residents, and always prepared
to listen to visitors' comments. I feel happy in the knowledge that my husband of 58 years is receiving excellent care.

From the moment my mum was taken to Wellcroft as an emergency resident until her very last moments (approx 2 months) all the staff from cleaners to the manager were welcoming, caring, respectful, conscientious and showed and displayed genuine interest and concern for her best welfare. It is a great
comfort to know that she had the best and most appropriate care right until her last breath. Mum was in last stages of dementia.

Mums placement in the Home was unplanned and it all happened very quickly because of this my sister and I who do not live locally were very concerned. We had no reason to be as we were extremely impressed on our first visit to the actual building and the decor which had a very calm friendly feeling,
but mainly with the kindness and support from ALL the management and staff who put our minds at rest. We know that Mum is going to be really comfortable and cared for at this difficult time. Thanks again to the staff for all their help and advice.

I have been a mental health nurse since 2007 and worked as a Home Manager for the last 3 years.  My last ten years have been working in dementia settings and I love finding out about the residents and how we can look to improve their quality of life on a daily basis.   I am very open and honest and want my home to feel welcoming to residents and also their families.  I find Music and dance can play a massive part in care homes and I love nothing more than joining in a singalong and dance with residents.
