At Greatwood House care home, situated ideally in Denton, just outside Manchester, the team support older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

The friendly, purpose-built home has a range of places in which to socialise relax, dine and exercise, including a conservatory, landscaped garden, hair salon and tea room. There is also a minibus for resident trips out.

From Care Assistants to Wellbeing Coordinators and Chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. The dedicated and professional care team at Greatwood House like to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting those living in the home to enjoy the things they love most. The catering team at Greatwood House understand the nutritional needs of older people and create delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. My uncle went into this home a couple of months ago for respite care. We were unsure we'd made the right decision but we really did. He has settled in very well and is enjoying the company. The staff have and are all great, who go above and beyond. They have made us feel at ease about everything. They
are all really friendly. Always kept informed of any activities, outings etc. Excellent home would recommend to anyone.

Myself and the family are very happy with Mam's care. She is settled and well-dressed on our visits. Mam really enjoys our little sing-a-longs when we visit and I believe she enjoys the excursions which have been recently introduced. A giant step I believe.

Grandma coming to Greatwood House was an excellent choice. Grandma is a lot happier surrounded by other people. As a family, it made the situation a lot easier to handle. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. 10/10.

No price for the peace of mind I now have that Dad settled quickly into a warm, caring and friendly environment. My dealings with the staff have been positive and reassuring. Dad enjoys their caring and company. It was good to call in and see staff dancing and singing with residents. Perfect!

Although I have not yet been inside it is very clean. The staff are very helpful and look after my mum extremely well. My mum says it's like a 5-star hotel you can have what you want.

It must be wonderful as for years Mum has said she doesn't want to go into a home. 'I'm not ready yet' and 'don't want to go into a home' and has been very fearful of having to go into one. However, after being hospitalised with Covid for nearly 3 weeks, she was discharged to Greatwood House and although
she is only there for 4 weeks respite care, now she's begun to ask about the possibility of staying there.
So! Hats off to you Greatwood House staff. Although because of Mum's isolation and a further outbreak of covid in the home (not connected!) we haven't been able to go in the home to see it or see Mum sadly but staff have been so helpful facilitating phone calls/emails etc and had we lived nearer we could have had a 15 min 'window visit'. But as we live 2-3 hours away depending on traffic, I'm afraid we haven't been able to take up that option due to health issues of my own. But I have such peace of mind knowing Mum is being looked after so well. Thank you Greatwood House.

Friendly staff but updates aren't communicated very well, we arrived 30 minutes prior as advised when we booked the appointment but weren't made aware tests can be done at home to avoid the wait.

Greatwood House is a very caring care home. My Aunt has been a resident here for 12 months and I cannot fault her care especially with current circumstances. My husband's father was in this care home 12 years ago and he was also well cared for. The staff are very helpful and always keep us in touch

To place a loved one into a care home is a monumental and very difficult decision. We'd struggled so much with my mother-in-law. We were filled with guilt and relief when she entered Greatwoof House. It was the best decision we made, and in my opinion, literally saved her life. They've all been absolute
angels, and we, as a family, have not had a single problem of any kind. It's been particularly difficult of late because, after Covid, she was placed on palliative care. It is down to the love and dedication of the staff that she's now off palliative care and well again.

I cannot begin to thank everyone who worked at Greatwood House for the love and care with which they showed my dad and us as relatives. The care, with which he was looked after, was excellent! I can honestly say with hand on heart, that they nursed him back to life, after how poorly he was when he first
went in. I have never had an issue with any part of his care or with any member of staff. Every member of the staff there is lovely and welcoming. My dad loved living there, and I could sleep easy at night knowing he was being well looked after. All I can say is a massive thank you to them!

My mother-in-law came to live at Greatwood House in July 2015. In the time that she has been here, we have come to know all the staff, they work hard and are always focused on giving the best care possible, nothing is too much trouble for them. We as a family are happy when we leave the home that my

Odette has gained over ten years of experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Odette joined Greatwood House as Home Manager because she closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Greatwood House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Odette remarked: “I love the variety and getting a smile from a Resident is lovely.”


Away from work, Odette enjoys spending her spare time walking in the Pennines and camping when the weather allows.
