At Greatwood House care home, situated ideally in Denton, just outside Manchester, the team support older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

The friendly, purpose-built home has a range of places in which to socialise relax, dine and exercise, including a conservatory, landscaped garden, hair salon and tea room. There is also a minibus for resident trips out.

From Care Assistants to Wellbeing Coordinators and Chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. I am writing this review on behalf of my husband who has difficulty filling in forms. He seems very happy and contented with Greatwood. He attends twice weekly and looks forward to going.


I myself have spoken on occasion to members of staff who I find to be very helpful, understanding and kind.


I am very happy that my husband enjoys his two days visits and I have no concerns whatsoever.

My mother attends Greatwood for daycare and on the odd occasions to stay. If my mother is happy, not stressed, always willing to go, this says a lot to me.
The staff are always kind and attentive with her and she informs me she enjoys the food they give her. So this reassures me she is being cared
for.

My husband has been at Greatwood House for 2 years now.


We have always been treated in a professional manner and my husband has always been treated with respect and dignity. Care staff and management always deal with any issues that arise promptly.

My nanna was very happy with her stay, she said she would most definitely stay here again. All the staff were wonderful, she met some lovely friends and the food was great. She is actually sad to leave which is lovely to see. Thank you all for taking such good care of her.

Staff here are approachable and very nice. They appear to look after the residents well.
Certain administration tasks have been overlooked and a request for a new lamp for the room took a while.

I have been on a two week respite following a vascular surgery operation at a local hospital. I could not ask for a more caring environment. The nursing and house keeping staff as well as the management team were most supportive and understanding, especially when I felt low. I wish all the best to the

Since being in respite at Greatwood House, my mum looks well. She has enjoyed the food and will be coming back into the home in June. All the staff have been very good, especially the manager.

I think the experience of my mothers respite was excellent. My mums looks well and it has done her good. Staff have been very friendly and helpful. I've not seen my mum with a big smile on her face for a long time and she has one now.

My partner has just been in, only for 6 days to give me a break and I am really pleased the way they looked after him. Apart from him having a sore on his head which was down to his own stupidity I cannot fault his care. We do have a few bits of clothing missing but all we have back are all clean and
I am sure the rest will be found for us, this is to be expected with so much going through the laundry. The staff are very pleasant and caring, although I have not seen my partner for the time he has been in I am aware of the care he has been given all to my satisfaction. When collecting him I asked how it had been and he said "yes it was okay". Now for him to say that it must have been good as he would most certainly say if it was terrible. He has Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia so to me this is a breakthrough when he says OK. I would certainly use Greatwood again when we next need a break. With ref to standards etc, I can only enter what I think, with not being there hard to comment.

Introducing Odette Lilley
Home Manager at Greatwood House, Denton


“I believe that kind care means listening, treating people with love and respect and going the extra mile whenever you can.”


Odette has gained over ten years of experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Odette joined Greatwood House as Home Manager because she closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Greatwood House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Odette remarked: “I love the variety and getting a smile from a Resident is lovely.”


Away from work, Odette enjoys spending her spare time walking in the Pennines and camping when the weather allows.
