At Greatwood House care home, situated ideally in Denton, just outside Manchester, the team support older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

The friendly, purpose-built home has a range of places in which to socialise relax, dine and exercise, including a conservatory, landscaped garden, hair salon and tea room. There is also a minibus for resident trips out.

From Care Assistants to Wellbeing Coordinators and Chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. My dad moved into Greatwood House on the 4/2/25. He sadly passed away there on the 17/7/25 a few days after his 90th Birthday. He was well cared for, any concerns were communicated to me straight away. The facilities are great, as is the entertainment programme. When he began to decline rapidly, the
staff were very attentive and caring to me and my dad. He was treated with dignity and care during his last few days. He passed away peacefully with us around him and his favorite music playing.

The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness and the modern furniture, very impressed, then greeted by the office staff like old friends. I have also sampled the food, like being at a restaurant.

The home has provided mum with a safe and generally happy environment. The level of care mum requires could not be provided in her own home or that of family members and the staff and facilities provided at Greatwood House have given peace of mind to mum relatives. The staff demonstrate patience, caring
and good humour in sometimes difficult circumstances. They are a credit to themselves and Greatwood House.

During my mothers respite stay at Greatwood her care from the home was excellent in every way. My mother can be quite demanding at times but the staff handle her ery well and made her feel comfortable at all times. She is now permanently staying at the home after careful consideration with myself and
family. We feel that she will be in a safe environment and will be looked after at all times. Which gives myself peace of mind whilst I am at work. I will always recommend Greatwood to all my family and friends.

The staff at Greatwood House are fantastic. I can't name them all but I wouldn't know what I would have done without the support of them all. All the day staff here go above and beyond, not only with residents but also with families. I'm so happy my mum has a place in Greatwood. I'm just sorry I can't

My brother has learning difficulties and has been at Greatwood House for almost 12 months, in that time he has settled in well. The staff are wonderful, they all go above and beyond to care. They have different activities every week and trips out to the zoo and airport. He is really settled there, if

My uncle went into this home a couple of months ago for respite care. We were unsure we'd made the right decision but we really did. He has settled in very well and is enjoying the company. The staff have and are all great, who go above and beyond. They have made us feel at ease about everything. They
are all really friendly. Always kept informed of any activities, outings etc. Excellent home would recommend to anyone.

Myself and the family are very happy with Mam's care. She is settled and well-dressed on our visits. Mam really enjoys our little sing-a-longs when we visit and I believe she enjoys the excursions which have been recently introduced. A giant step I believe.

Grandma coming to Greatwood House was an excellent choice. Grandma is a lot happier surrounded by other people. As a family, it made the situation a lot easier to handle. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. 10/10.

No price for the peace of mind I now have that Dad settled quickly into a warm, caring and friendly environment. My dealings with the staff have been positive and reassuring. Dad enjoys their caring and company. It was good to call in and see staff dancing and singing with residents. Perfect!

Introducing Odette Lilley
Home Manager at Greatwood House, Denton


“I believe that kind care means listening, treating people with love and respect and going the extra mile whenever you can.”


Odette has gained over ten years of experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Odette joined Greatwood House as Home Manager because she closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Greatwood House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Odette remarked: “I love the variety and getting a smile from a Resident is lovely.”


Away from work, Odette enjoys spending her spare time walking in the Pennines and camping when the weather allows.
