At Greatwood House care home, situated ideally in Denton, just outside Manchester, the team support older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

The friendly, purpose-built home has a range of places in which to socialise relax, dine and exercise, including a conservatory, landscaped garden, hair salon and tea room. There is also a minibus for resident trips out.

From Care Assistants to Wellbeing Coordinators and Chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into the home. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the Home Manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives at Greatwood House.

Since my aunt moved into Greatwood House on the 13th January 2016. She has become more outgoing and sociable, the staff are very helpful in every way. She loves it in there and we love her being there. It's great.

My late Mother was at Greatwood suffering from Dementia for around 3 1/2 years before recently passing away.


During my Mothers time in Greatwood I believe she received the very best of care and was treated like one of the family. She was kept clean, had her hair done once a week, and called by her

first name - this helped maintain her personality and dignity throughout. The care given was excellent and consistent 24/7/365.


My mother was involved in activities and went on a couple of day trips with the home which she thoroughly enjoyed.


The food was always good and the home kept tidy. My Mother loved sitting in the garden in the summer months.


Thank you again for all the staff that cared for my mum.

When my Auntie first came to the home on the 13th of January, she was very disorientated, but after 3 weeks, she began to take an interest in the way of life in the home, and settled down perfectly.
We are very pleased with her progress, and we can't thank the staff enough

Since my aunt has been here she has become more like her old self. Very happy and contented. The staff and everyone are marvellous and go that one step further, nothing too much for them. Always smiling and pleasant.

Due to retirement of senior staff this year the home has has some unsettled times. However, throughout this time the high standard of care my mother has received for the last five years wasn't affected.
The care team continue to work extremely hard maintaining a happy, safe and comfortable home for
all the residents. With a new manager, senior team and activity organiser in place I'm confident Greatwood House will go from strength to strength.

Introducing Odette Lilley
Home Manager at Greatwood House, Denton


“I believe that kind care means listening, treating people with love and respect and going the extra mile whenever you can.”


Odette has gained over ten years of experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Odette joined Greatwood House as Home Manager because she closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Greatwood House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Odette remarked: “I love the variety and getting a smile from a Resident is lovely.”


Away from work, Odette enjoys spending her spare time walking in the Pennines and camping when the weather allows.
