We have been really happy with the care provided for our mum (Rita), the staff are always very helpful and very supportive of mum's needs.
After a difficult initial settling in period, mum has really happy, content, clean and well fed.

We are very happy with the support and care she receives and hope that this will continue.

My father exhibited very challenging behaviour, and the care staff acted with great professionalism and showed deep commitment to care for him. They truly went above and beyond. Thank you so much.

I don't need 200 words.
Hetty & her sons Stephen & Timothy, plus myself, are more than happy with Mum's care and wellbeing.
Mum has told us she is happy with the girls & boys, and when the time comes for her to go to see Dad, 'no hospital.

Thank you. Linda.

Dad was admitted to Holme Lea from Stamford Unit after being diagnosed with dementia. From the minute he arrived, he was shown so much kindness from all the care staff and it was a pleasure to visit him.
Everyone made us very welcome- the home is immaculately clean and the food is great.
When dad sadly passed away after just a month, the carers came to see him to say their goodbyes and stood in a guard of honour as he was taken away.

We found the care, compassion and support to be exemplary and would not hesitate to recommend Holme Lea to anyone who needs this kind of help and support. Thank you to everyone for your excellent care and kindness.

Mum moved into Holme Lea Care Home straight from hospital one year ago. We were surprised how quickly mum settled into the home, but then we evidenced the kindness, respect and compassion she was shown, it was easy to see why. The staff encouraged mum to get involved in daily activities which she was initially reluctant to do. Mum is thriving being part of the family at Holme Lea and we, as her family, appreciate all that is done for mum. To know we can go in anytime of the day or night speak volumes.

The introduction of a newsletter is welcomed and informative for those of us who are not local. They have a range of activities and mum also enjoys having her hair done. The monthly review provides an ideal opportunity to have a meaningful discussion about care. We would thoroughly recommend this home if asked.

My wife moved into Holme Lea in December 2024. We immediately appreciated the kindness, care and professionalism of the staff. The team have helped us move into the new phase of our life, which has been emotionally very difficult, with a lot of thoughtfulness and support. Nothing has been too much trouble and whilst adjusting to our new life has been hard, knowing my wife is well cared for, and is settled, has been a reassurance. Thank you for all you do.

Since mum went into Holme Lea on respite, then permanent, she has improved greatly despite her worsening dementia. Staff been lovely with her and she appears very happy ( unlike at home since dad died in June 2023). Have already recommended Holme Lea to friends in similar circumstances

Care and consideration for the health and welfare of residents is the number 1 priority for all staff. Simple question, how do the staff carry out their work with such skill and compassion?

My mother was a resident temporarily. What amazing staff you have! My mother has been extremely happy whilst staying with you in Holme Lea Care in Stalybridge. Your staff treated her like a member of their own family. They showed her genuine care and attention at all times, nothing was too much trouble. They allowed her to express her thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment. Three staff in particular showed how much they loved their job and took seriously the care of others, my mum described them as 'angels on earth'.

Lovely home, brilliant stuff. Only concern I have is my mum used to drink cups of tea with every meal and a cup of tea at 11ish and in afternoon about 3ish. I realised they get lots of juice but maybe a cup of tea would be nice if offered too.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Holme Lea

Thank you for your kind comments and feedback it helps us to improve our service and care we give to our residents. At the start of our meal service, we offer all residents a cold drink to wet the mouth and throat before they eat. Serving a hot drink at the start of a meal can make a resident feel full and we try our best to promote a good intake of food.

Mum has settled in fine. So glad to have an activity person on board. Food has been good. Just a problem with district nurse not being daily. Mum's leg is leaking through bandages.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Holme Lea

Thank you for your feedback, we have worked very closely with the district nurse team to ensure all residents who need support from the district team get this when its required, we will continue to work with you to help us to monitor and work better with the nurses to ensure that your loved one’s dressings are clean and dry and that they are comfortable.

Dad was admitted to Holme Lea after being discharged from the hospital for respite care. Social services completed an assessment and he was unable to return to his flat. From the start of Dad's stay, the management team, together with all the carers, were wonderful with Dad. I was kept informed of any events and everyone was very professional. Sadly, my dad died but the staff on the day assisted me and my family and when the staff lined the path when he was brought out was so thoughtful and kind. Holme Lea and all the staff are a credit to HC-One.

Mum's been in the home a short time but settled in quite well despite numerous moves before Holme Lea. Staff are lovely and listen to what mum wants. She’s not the easiest person but the staff have time and supported mum and others well. It’s also lovely that we can take mum across to feed the ducks in the local park.

Visited the home to see mum. She’s recently been in hospital and has been unwell. I’m glad she is now back in the care of the home. Staff look after us and mum so well. Mum is not herself in strange places but it’s good for her to be home in her own environment with her friends and companions. Staff work so hard.
