My mother has dementia and Alzheimer's. I took her into Holme Lea in May 2018. Mum took a long time to settle but the staff were extremely caring throughout this period. Nowaday's mum is a happy, bubbly person. I have not seen her this relaxed and cheerful for several years. Before mum was not very sociable, now she is enjoying other people's company and joining in the activities. Thank you so much for encouraging mum and supporting mum when she feels low.

Holme Lea has improved considerably over the latter half of the year. It has always been homely and provided good facilities - several lounges, break out areas and lovely enclosed garden but they had become tired and run down but I am pleased to say these are now back to a good standard. The new manager has put a good strategy in place to improve communication, staffing shortages and the health and welfare of the residents. There is consistency with the staffing now and they are very good with the residents looking after them as individuals.

Sorry to have seen so many dedicated carers leave in a short time. I visit during the mornings and always feel welcomed by the staff. Attention to Dad's overall appearance could be better but I understand he can be difficult at times. This I find quite upsetting knowing how proud he used to be.

Staff are caring and kind. The only criticism I have is that it takes a long time for any changes to be made eg getting my mother-in-law's dietary requirements to be reassessed.

Mum has been here a few times. She enjoys it. The staff are friendly and approachable, mum was in for a week at the end of June/July 2018. She was very comfortable, clean and looked after very well. We would recommend this place and will use again in the future.

My mother can be a very difficult person. The professionalism and duty of care provided by the staff is excellent.
I struggle to get to see Mum on a weekly basis due to work commitments but I know she couldn't be in safer hands.

Thank you.

Very good, very caring. Happy with how the home is. Only thing is that my wife likes to have more conversations with people so more activities would be good, like chat sessions. Staff brilliant.

This was my first visit to Holme Lea.
I found the staff very welcoming and the home has a friendly atmosphere.
During our visit, one lady was shouting a lot but staff sat with her and talked kindly to her trying to distract her.
The décor is nice and the home seemed clean.

My friend has Dementia so has no real awareness of where she is but she seems happy and settled.

During my recent respite stay, I have been treated with dignity and respect at all times. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Nothing has been too much trouble for staff. There has been plenty of choice on the menu and food has been excellent. Laundry service has been very efficient. My personal care has been second to none and my stay has been made so comfortable. Thank you to all concerned.

We love everything about the home and the care my father in law receives. We had an issue with his meal and I was amazed how quickly it was dealt with and to an excellent standard. Managers and general staff are magical, just not enough. My father in law had a recent episode when he ended up in hospital, the girls were amazing. My one complaint, not enough girls.
