I have had issues with missing things, easter egg, socks new top and wedding ring. All reported to management. The activities are good with excellent staff leading. What I find off putting is the smell of urine in the corridors, especially in the morning. The staff are excellent and very caring. Overall my wife is happy here she gets on very well with the staff. Obviously she would rather be at home but unfortunately I am unable to look after her. I would recommend this care home because of the staff.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We are glad that your happy with the care at Garswood House. We always take your feedback seriously and act upon them reasonably. Thank you again for trusting us for your wife's care.

My husband has settled in very well at Garswood House. His room is large, clean and overlooking the garden. The staff are wonderful with him, each and everyone of them. It's taking a little time for them to get to know his level of need, because he can be deceptive, but I'm certain that this is the perfect place for him. It's party day today, celebration of David Attenboroughs 100 years with balloons, games and live music. Wonderful.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. It is wonderful to know that you are happy about the person centred care of your husband at Garswood House. Thank you again for trusting us for his care.
Sometimes there have been staff shortages which puts a lot of pressure on the other staff in what is a stressful job anyway!

Our LO has dementia so we chose Garswood House as a place to keep her safe yet still be able to enjoy the things she used to do. Here, the staff are friendly and approachable, who are always willing to listen and act upon any concerns we have regarding out LO. There are always a variety of activities available for residents to participates in and also a few trips/visits organised. The home feels safe and clean, allowing residents a sense of independence when choosing what they'd like to do during the day ie watch TV, baking, sitting outside. Mum has been out, I returned her only she had a toilet accident as she was getting out of the car. Oops, the member of staff reassured mum and supported, helped her into the home. Making mum feel more comfortable.

Mum came into Garswood House, despite us not knowing if we were doing the right things. Our worries were deeply unfounded. The first 2 weeks were the most difficult due to mums change of environment. However after the 2 weeks mum is for happier + far more settled than she has been for the last couple of years. The staff are brilliant and always pleased to see you and are very informant of doctors visits, illness etc. The staff have definitely made mums transition into a care home far easier that possibly expected.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that your mum has settled in well and is happier now. Your kind words are truly appreciated.
Extremely happy with the care provided for my dad whilst in temporary respite. Staff are extremely caring and helpful in regards to the care they provide and communication. Personally, I don't think we could have found a better place for dad's recuperation. Heart felt thanks to all, from all the family.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear your dad received the care and support he needed during his respite stay.
My Mum has been in the care home for over 12 months now, she does seem to have settled but, I'm not happy with the activities, there is not enough going on for the residents. My Mum is constantly complaining that there aren't enough meal options, this has been addressed numerous times. My other concern is staffing, I, as a visitor, have noticed very minimum staff on shift.
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear your mum has settled in, but we're sorry to learn of your concerns. We take all the feedback very seriously, and we will take all the necessary actions required.

Garswood House care home is a happy home. Very spacious and atmosphere for residents. The staff go way above the provision of care and nursing is ever a problem or too much trouble for them. Very well run by the manager and admin staff and also very approachable and helpful.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are delighted to know that you are happy with the care provided at Garswood House. I shall pass your kind sentiments onto the home team.
All the staff have made mum feel welcome and cared for. She tells all of her visitors how lovely the staff are, how she enjoys the company and the food and that she couldn't be anywhere better. The home provides a warm, welcoming and clean environment. It is reassuring to see how the caring and hardworking staff look after and interact with the residents. I feel that the home would benefit from a dropped kerb/ramp at the front of the building which would be helpful when taking residents out in a wheelchair. I believe this is being discussed with the landlord.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear your mum feels happy and well cared for, and we appreciate your kind words about our team.
