After a couple of respite stays my mother-in-law became a permanent resident at Norfolk House Care Home in 2013 and this remained home until her death in 2022. During her time here we were always pleased with the care she received, she was treated as family by the owners and staff alike, as were all
residents. Family and visitors were always given a warm welcome. She enjoyed trips out and entertainment at the home.
As her health deteriorated she needed palliative care, the care she received at this time was excellent, her privacy and dignity were maintained always and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The current manager leads by example, we cannot praise her, and her staff enough.

Since my mum has been a resident at Norfolk House, she has been settled and happy in her surroundings. I was happy that as soon as my Mum moved to Norfolk House the staff understood her condition and have been kind, supportive and understanding. The communication is great, and I am kept updated on my
Mum's health if a doctor has been called, I am happy that the staff are attentive to my mum's health needs and they monitor her general health and make appointments for doctors etc when they feel it is necessary. You can see from their interaction with the residents that the staff are very caring and friendly, and I am more than happy with my Mum's care and happy that we found a place that my mum is settled and the staff are lovely.

My mother moved into Norfolk house early in 2020 when, due to the progression of Alzheimer's disease, she became unable to live alone.
I would rate my experience of my mother's care as excellent. This is largely because of our experience with the care home manager, she is a very caring individual.
We have also met other excellent members of staff on our visits.
The only reason I have not given 5 stars is the building and grounds, which could be nicer, but I appreciate that this is difficult in these challenging times for this sector.

My wife will have been in Norfolk House for three years in May 2023.
She is still very well and very well looked after. She is a wheelchair user and is weighed in a weighing chair. Her weight now is the same as when she went in. Her dentures no longer can be made to fit her and to also alleviate the
possibility of choking she now has a diet of blended food and that works well. She has a good appetite. The staff are brilliant with her and all the other residents. Always cheerful and engaging with them. Nothing is too much trouble, I see the residents responding to their smiling faces and hugs.
My opinion is the staff take their lead from the manager who is efficient and yet finds time to be hands-on.
I feel very lucky that my wife of 45 years is happy and content in Norfolk House. I have recommended it to others and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

My husband arrived at Norfolk House during the pandemic, but despite this, he was still welcomed into a warm and friendly environment. He settled in well, largely due to the kind and caring staff that work there. Regular visits were offered with safety, always as a priority, and outdoor visits were
offered at this time. Norfolk House is like a home from home - the other residents, like my husband too, which is lovely to see.
When my husband fell ill and was taken to hospital, someone from the home visited him each day and made sure that regular health updates were given. This was very reassuring for me and my family.
The manager treats all residents as though they are family and genuinely cares about them. Any questions, queries or requests from us are dealt with quickly and efficiently. Communication is excellent. I would choose Norfolk House again.

We cannot thank the manager and her team enough for the dedication they provide for the service users; they are very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We are so grateful for the care they provided for our aunt. We could rest easy knowing she was in excellent hands.

My mum has been a resident at Norfolk House Residential since November 2020. Initially, it was difficult and extremely upsetting for me, as her daughter, to accept the fact that Mum was no longer safe in her own home, as she had been diagnosed with dementia and I felt very guilty and anxious. The manager
at Norfolk House supported me through this transition and is an extremely caring person who always goes above and beyond.
My mum has always had very high standards and she constantly tells me what a wonderful place Norfolk House is, how amazing the staff are, how good the food is and how well she is cared for. She is very happy and settled so I could not ask for anything more!

The staff at Norfolk House Residential are kind, committed and caring. They are experienced and well trained and know how to treat residents, especially with dementia, with dignity and respect.
The palliative care they gave my dad and the support they gave me at that time was outstanding.
There
is a warm and friendly atmosphere. The residents are secure and safe.

We moved Dad to Norfolk House from another terrible place, I am glad we did.
The staff at Norfolk House were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and it was quite clear that they became quite attached to my father. During his two month stay with them, it was his 92nd birthday and his 70th
Wedding Anniversary. They really went to town, decorating the communal rooms and putting on a tremendous buffet for all the residents and his family to share.
Dad loved the food and particularly loved the staff with whom he regularly shared a joke. Even when his dementia became difficult to cope with he was treated with absolute dignity and kindness.
To an observer, it was obvious that the staff treated all their residents with respect and dignity.
Thank you Norfolk House for ensuring Dad was so well cared for at his life’s end.
